Beauty buffs looking to get their fill of luxury skincare products without having to spend a fortune will want to turn their attention to Boots. The high-street retailer has reduced the price of a four-piece hydration collection from Elizabeth Arden that’s guaranteed to be popular.

The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Multitasking Masters 4 Piece Holiday Gift Set has been slashed to better than half price for a limited time as part of Boots’ Star Gift offering. The weekly sale reduces bestselling brands by up to 50% or greater in the run-up to Christmas.

Shoppers can pick up the Multitasking Masters 4 Piece Holiday Gift Set for £28 instead of £68.50, offering a £40 saving. With four products in the edit, each item works out to cost £7 apiece, which is much cheaper than if you were to buy them individually.

The star product of the box is arguably the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Original, worth £31 – more than the box itself. First launched in 1930, the skincare classic is designed to restore, calm and help relieve chapped, cracked and dry skin.

It works efficiently to sooth roughness, redness and minor skin irritations. The combination of petrolatum, a skin-soothing beta-hydroxy in one of its first cosmetic uses, and vitamin E make this apricot coloured balm effective and beneficial for those emergency skin moments.

Then there’s a travel-friendly version of the Eight Hour HydraPlay Skin Perfecting Daily Moisturizer. The lightweight, ultra-versatile formula provides instant hydration and brightness, while visibly refining pores and promoting an even-looking, matte finish.

The moisturiser utilises glycerin, hyaluronic acid and sugarcane-derived squalane to hydrate and plump the look of skin, while the brand’s Botanical Blurring Complex helps to reduce the appearance of excess oil and imperfections. Shoppers will also be treated to the Eight Hour Cream All Over Miracle Body Oil.

Infused with Tsubaki oil, an ultra-hydrating ingredient that works to deliver long-lasting moisture, revealing radiant, healthy-looking skin with a firming effect. Restoring luminous shine, the fast-absorbing oil nourishes and conditions hair from root to tip, helping to eliminate frizz and flyaways for super smooth, sleek results.

Lastly, the gift set contains the Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick Sunscreen. Intensely nourishing and protective, the lip formula is infused with emollients, sunscreen and antioxidant vitamin E to keep lips moisturised and safe from external aggressors, including UV rays.

Elsewhere, the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Discovery Skincare Set, worth £80, is available for £38. The collection features four bedtime skincare essentials designed to promote a firmer, more radiant-looking complexion

The targeted ritual works overnight to deliver intense hydration and a healthy-looking glow. Shoppers will receive a sample bottle of the Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex, as well as the Advanced Night Cleansing Gelée, Advanced Night Repair Eye Lift + Sculpt and Revitalizing Supreme+ Night Power Bounce Creme Moisturiser.

Alternatively, the Byoma Cosmic Glow Treat Trio has been reduced to £9 down from £15 at Sephora. It features three travel-sized serums designed to hydrate, brighten, and deliver a dewy ‘glass skin’ finish while supporting the skin barrier.

Back at Boots, the Multitasking Masters 4 Piece Holiday Gift Set is so new in, it is yet to receive any reviews from shoppers. The Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, on the other hand, has racked up an overall star-rating of 4.4 out of five based on 5.983 reviews.

One satisfied shopper said: “Used it for years, wouldn’t be without it. Wonderful at night and lasts so well. Also a great skin protector against wet and windy weather. Revitalises my tired skin.”

A second wrote: “After years of acrylic and gel nails my own nails were shocking, peeling and breaking with no strength at all. So I read that moisturising your cuticles was beneficial for your nails… the nail oils didn’t work, but this did.

“I now have long nails which are strong and look fabulous. Highly recommend the Eight Hour Protectant, be patient and it will work.”

“This is my 20th one of these at least,” a third penned. “I have one each of these in two of my bags and one in my bathroom so use all the time. Running low with two spares so ordered another. Great for lips, cuticles and sides of my eyes when they water in the wind.”

One shopper, however, wasn’t as impressed with the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, giving it a three-star review. They shared: “This lotion is okay, it is extremely hydrating and was great for dry areas on my body.

“It didn’t absorb that well and left a greasy feeling on my skin that I did not care for. The smell of this is also pretty bad, very overwhelming and not a pleasant smell, unfortunately.”

“I think this is a great multipurpose beauty product to have on hand,” another three-star review mentions. “I have slight seborrheic dermatitis and it gets worse in winter particularly around the nose and hairline, this helps so much.

“It’s also great for my lips and cuticles and I love to use it as highlighter on a makeup free day to give my skin and extra glow but can’t be bothered with makeup, and it’s good for my skin! I do think it is overpriced slightly for what it is in terms of ingredients.”

Nevertheless, someone else loved their latest Boots purchase, adding: “Fantastic cream for dry hands. It’s thick and sticky when it goes on but is quickly absorbed.

“It’s really good if you have cracked or dry hands but also good for dry lips and elbows. One tube lasts a long time because you don’t need to use it that frequently.”

Another five-star review reads: “I’ve been using the Eight Hour Cream for about seven years now. It’s the only product that agrees with my skin and keeps it soft and lovely.

“It’s particularly great in winter to avoid chapped lips and hands. It’s also brilliant as a primer! Honestly, I’m obsessed with this product and would recommend it to anyone, especially my dry skinned queens.

“Also, my dad who is over 80 had been suffering with very dry, scaly patches on his bald patch and has started using 8 hour cream and it’s cleared it right up.”
