Makeup habits that could be ageing your skin

Makeup can enhance your natural beauty, but certain everyday habits may be doing your skin more harm than good. While cosmetics themselves don’t necessarily cause premature ageing, poor application techniques, unhygienic tools and skipping skincare can contribute to fine lines, dullness and irritation.

Here are some common makeup mistakes to avoid for healthier, younger-looking skin.

Wearing makeup to bed

One of the biggest skincare mistakes is going to bed without removing your makeup. According to Everyday Health, nighttime is when your skin heals itself, and sleeping in makeup disrupts this process.

Foundation, sunscreen and pollution build up on the skin throughout the day, clogging pores and preventing your skin from repairing itself overnight. Double cleansing before bed helps keep your complexion fresh and healthy.

Using dirty brushes and sponges

Makeup brushes and beauty sponges collect oil, bacteria and dead skin cells. When they’re not cleaned regularly, they can trigger breakouts and skin irritation, leaving your complexion looking tired. Wash brushes weekly and replace sponges every few months.

Applying too much powder

Powder can control shine, but overusing it may settle into fine lines and make skin appear drier and older. Instead, apply a light dusting only where needed and choose finely milled formulas for a more natural finish.

Skipping moisturiser before makeup

Hydrated skin provides the best canvas for makeup. Applying foundation to dry skin can emphasise texture, flaky patches and wrinkles. Use a moisturiser suited to your skin type before applying primer or foundation.

According to Beauty Collective, moisturiser maintains skin hydration throughout the day and therefore assists in fighting premature fine lines and wrinkles too.

Keeping expired makeup

Old makeup products can harbour bacteria and lose their performance over time. Mascara should typically be replaced every three months, while other products have varying shelf lives. Check expiry symbols and discard anything with an unusual smell or texture.

Indeed, healthy skin starts with good habits. By combining proper skincare with smart makeup practices, you can enjoy flawless-looking makeup while helping your skin maintain a radiant, youthful appearance for years to come.

Pigmentation Treatment: From sunscreen to sleep: Everyday habits that impact pigmentation treatment

Pigmentation Treatment: From sunscreen to sleep: Everyday habits that impact pigmentation treatment

(Image Credits: Pinterest) There was a time when pigmentation was largely discussed inside a dermatologist’s clinic. Today, it has become one of the most searched skincare concerns, and understandably so. Consumers are more aware, more curious and far more willing to invest in skincare than ever before. Despite the growing number of products and ingredients available, one question continues to surface: “Why isn’t my pigmentation getting better?”The answer often lies beyond the skincare shelfPigmentation doesn’t appear overnight, and it rarely has a single cause. While genetics and hormonal changes can certainly play a role, the skin is also responding to countless everyday experiences that we barely think about. Those small, repeated exposures eventually leave a visible imprint.

It’s Never Just One Sunny AfternoonWhen people hear the words “sun damage”, they usually picture a beach holiday or an afternoon spent outdoors. In reality, skin doesn’t distinguish between a holiday in Goa and twenty minutes spent walking to work every morning. Those brief moments in the sun, repeated day after day, are enough to keep triggering melanin production. Add to that long hours spent near windows, frequent commutes or forgetting to reapply sunscreen, and it becomes easier to understand why pigmentation has a habit of returning just when it seems to be improving. The skin remembers patterns, not occasions The Industry Has Created Smarter Consumers and Higher ExpectationsOne of the biggest changes we have witnessed over the years is how informed skincare consumers have become. Ingredient lists are no longer intimidating. People know what niacinamide does, they ask about tranexamic acid, and they actively seek dermatologist-backed formulations. That shift is encouraging because informed consumers make better choices. At the same time, information overload has created a different challenge. Many people believe that if one active ingredient works, four must work even better. In reality, the skin doesn’t reward excess. It rewards consistency. An overloaded routine can leave the skin irritated, weaken its protective barrier and, ironically, make pigmentation even more difficult to manage. Sometimes the best decision is not adding another serum but giving the skin the stability it has been missing.

Healthy Skin Is Built Long After the Routine EndsThe skincare industry understandably spends a great deal of time talking about products. We spend far less time talking about lifestyle. And the skin is influenced by the life we lead every day. Stress, inadequate sleep, poor hydration and environmental exposure all affect how efficiently the skin repairs itself. These are not dramatic events that instantly create pigmentation, but they shape how resilient the skin is and how well it responds to treatment over time. This is why skincare should never be viewed in isolation. The routine you follow in front of the mirror is only one part of the equation. What happens during the remaining twenty-three hours of the day matters just as much. Science Is Becoming More IntelligentIn a conversation with Shaily Mehrotra, CEO & Co-Founder of Fixderma & FCL, she solely spoke about the issue and said, “Dermatology has moved well beyond the idea of simply lightening dark spots. The focus today is understanding why pigmentation develops and supporting healthier skin while addressing those biological pathways. That is where innovation becomes meaningful. The future of skincare is becoming more precise, more personalised and far more respectful of how the skin naturally functions.” She further added, “People often ask what the most effective pigmentation treatment is. There isn’t a single answer. The most effective treatment is one that combines good science with good habits. A thoughtfully formulated skincare routine can certainly improve pigmentation, but it performs at its best when it is supported by everyday decisions that protect the skin instead of challenging it.”

Beauty habits dermatologists wish everyone would follow

Beauty habits dermatologists wish everyone would follow

PICTURE: PEXELS/ SKIN CARE

With countless beauty trends dominating social media, it can be difficult to know which habits actually benefit your skin. However, South African dermatologists agree that healthy, glowing skin doesn’t come from expensive products or viral hacks—it comes from consistent, evidence-based habits.

Also see: How to use rice water for skin care

From protecting your skin against South Africa’s harsh UV rays to keeping your routine simple, here are the beauty habits local dermatologists wish everyone would adopt.

Wear sunscreen every day — even in winter

If there’s one beauty rule dermatologists never get tired of repeating, it’s this: wear sunscreen every day.

According to the National Library of Medicine, South Africa experiences high levels of ultraviolet (UV) radiation throughout the year, which means sun protection isn’t only important during summer holidays.

According to recent South African sun protection guidelines developed by dermatologists from the University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, daily sun protection helps prevent premature ageing, hyperpigmentation and skin cancer.

Dr Barbara van der Westhuizen, a dermatologist at Tygerberg Hospital, recommends using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and reapplying it every two hours when outdoors.

Keep your skincare routine simple

While social media may promote elaborate skincare routines, dermatologists often recommend taking a less-is-more approach.

Dermatologist Dr Dilshaad Asmal said using too many active ingredients can damage the skin barrier, leading to irritation, dryness and breakouts. Instead, experts advise building a routine around a few essential products: a gentle cleanser, moisturiser, sunscreen and targeted treatments when necessary.

Consistency, rather than complexity, is what produces long-term results.

Never sleep with makeup on

No matter how tired you are, dermatologists say removing your makeup before bed should be non-negotiable.

According to Dr Dilshaad, makeup, pollution, sweat, and excess oil can accumulate on the skin throughout the day, potentially contributing to clogged pores, irritation, and breakouts. Cleansing before bed allows the skin to undergo its natural repair processes overnight and helps maintain a healthy skin barrier.

Moisturise regularly

Many people wait until their skin feels dry before applying moisturiser, but dermatologists recommend making moisturising a daily habit.

National Library of Medicine said moisturiser helps strengthen the skin barrier, retain hydration, and protect the skin against environmental stressors. This is particularly important during South Africa’s dry winter months when skin is more prone to dehydration and irritation.

Stop picking at your skin

Whether it’s a pimple, scab or blemish, picking at the skin can do more harm than good.

Dermatologists warn that picking increases inflammation, introduces bacteria and can lead to permanent scarring or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation—especially in darker skin tones, where pigmentation changes may persist for longer.

Protect your skin beyond sunscreen

South African dermatologists stress that sunscreen is only one part of effective sun protection.

According to local sun safety guidelines issued by the Western Cape Government, additional protective measures include:

  • Seeking shade during peak UV hours (between 10am and 4pm)
  • Wearing wide-brimmed hats
  • Using UV-protective sunglasses
  • Choosing protective clothing when spending extended periods outdoors

These habits can significantly reduce cumulative sun damage over time.

Be cautious of skin-lightening products

South African dermatologists have repeatedly warned about the dangers associated with unregulated skin-lightening products.

Professor Ncoza Dlova, head of dermatology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, has highlighted the risks of products containing ingredients such as hydroquinone and potent corticosteroids, which can damage the skin and increase vulnerability to sun damage and other complications.

Experts recommend consulting a dermatologist before using any skin-lightening treatments or strong active ingredients.

Healthy skin starts with healthy habits

While beauty trends may change every season, dermatologists agree that healthy skin depends on consistent habits rather than quick fixes. Wearing sunscreen daily, protecting your skin from the sun, maintaining a simple skincare routine and treating your skin gently can have a greater impact than any viral beauty product.

Daily habits that help you feel stronger, calmer, and healthier

Daily habits that help you feel stronger, calmer, and healthier

With today’s fast-paced world, taking care of your physical and mental well-being doesn’t have to involve major lifestyle changes.

Often, it’s the small, consistent habits that have the greatest impact over time. By making a few mindful choices each day, you can improve your energy, reduce stress, and support your overall health.

According to IOL, small choices made daily, from staying hydrated and managing stress to following a consistent skincare routine, can easily have a meaningful impact on one’s skin health and overall well-being.

Also see: Winter wellness: Why your body struggles when temperatures drop

These are just a few simple ways that can help your body and mind.

Start your day with water

After several hours of sleep, your body wakes up dehydrated. Drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning helps rehydrate your body, supports digestion, and boosts alertness. Keeping a water bottle nearby throughout the day can also help you stay hydrated and maintain steady energy levels.

Move your body every day

Daily movement doesn’t have to mean an intense workout. A 20- to 30-minute walk, stretching, yoga, or light exercise can improve cardiovascular health, strengthen muscles, and release endorphins that naturally enhance your mood. Regular physical activity also helps reduce stress and improve sleep quality.

Eat balanced, nutritious meals

Fuel your body with a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Eating balanced meals provides essential nutrients that support brain function, strengthen the immune system, and maintain stable energy levels throughout the day. Limiting highly processed foods and sugary drinks can also promote better long-term health.

Spend time outdoors

Fresh air and natural sunlight can improve both physical and mental health. Even a short walk outside can boost your mood, increase vitamin D production, and reduce feelings of stress and fatigue. Nature also provides a refreshing break from screens and daily responsibilities.

So, you don’t need to make dramatic changes. Small, consistent daily habits can lead to meaningful improvements in both your physical and mental well-being. By staying hydrated, moving regularly, eating nutritious foods, and getting enough sleep, you can create a strong foundation for a healthier, happier life.

5 Anti-Ageing Habits That Go Beyond Serums and Creams

5 Anti-Ageing Habits That Go Beyond Serums and Creams

According to Dr Shifa Yadav, Consultant, Dermatology, Artemis Hospitals, “Anti-ageing is often linked with expensive serums, creams and cosmetic treatments. Healthy ageing really starts from within. Of course, skincare products may help improve the look of skin. How we eat, sleep, move and manage stress has a far greater impact on how we age than any cream we put on the surface. Developing healthy daily habits can help you keep your skin youthful, your muscles strong, your mind sharp, and your overall well-being for years to come.”

5 Anti-Ageing Habits That Go Beyond Serums and Creams

Prioritise Quality Sleep

Sleep is one of the most potent anti-ageing tools. While you sleep, your body mends damaged cells, creates collagen, and recharges your energy. Sleep deprivation can cause dull skin, dark circles, wrinkles and increased stress hormones that speed up the ageing process. Adults should try for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night for good health and healthy ageing.

Eat for Longevity

A diet high in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and lean proteins provides nutrients that help protect cells from damage. Berries, spinach, tomatoes and green tea are all antioxidant-rich foods that help fight free radicals that contribute to premature ageing. Drinking enough water is critical for the skin to be elastic and for the body to be able to process things.

Stay Physically Active

Exercise does more than keep the body fit. It aids blood circulation, builds muscles and bones, raises energy levels and aids the health of the heart. Physical activity also triggers the release of hormones that help repair tissue and reduce inflammation. Even a daily 30-minute walk can bring huge anti-ageing benefits.

Stress Management

Long-term stress can accelerate the ageing process by promoting inflammation and interfering with hormone balance. It can also cause bad sleep and unhealthy lifestyle choices. Practising mindfulness, meditation, and deep breathing and spending time in nature can all help to reduce stress and improve emotional well-being.

Protect Your Skin Naturally

While there are benefits to skincare products, simple habits such as wearing sunscreen daily, not smoking, limiting alcohol intake and protecting the skin from excessive sun exposure can prevent premature wrinkles and pigmentation. Such preventative measures often have more long-term benefits than expensive treatment.

Anti-ageing isn’t about looking younger overnight. It is about establishing good habits that will pay off for your body and mind over time. The real foundations of ageing gracefully and staying vital at every stage of life are quality sleep, proper nutrition, regular exercise, stress management, skin protection and mental engagement.

10 daily habits that may be aging you faster

10 Daily Habits That May Be Aging You Faster

When it comes to maintaining healthy skin and hair, what you do every day matters more than the occasional facial or expensive beauty product. In fact, some common habits can gradually contribute to dryness, irritation, wrinkles, and other visible signs of aging without you even realizing it.

The good news is that many of these habits are easy to change. Here are 10 everyday beauty mistakes that may be working against your long-term skin and hair goals.

Pexels

1. Skipping Sunscreen

If there’s one habit dermatologists consistently recommend, it’s daily sun protection.

Ultraviolet (UV) exposure is one of the leading causes of premature skin aging, contributing to fine lines, dark spots, uneven skin tone, and loss of elasticity. Even on cloudy days, UV rays can reach your skin.

Using a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day is one of the simplest ways to protect your skin’s future.

2. Over-Exfoliating

Exfoliation can help improve texture and brightness, but more isn’t always better.

Excessive exfoliation can damage the skin barrier, leading to redness, irritation, dryness, and increased sensitivity. Many people unknowingly combine multiple exfoliating products, creating more stress for the skin.

For most people, exfoliating a few times per week is plenty.

3. Not Moisturizing Consistently

Hydrated skin generally appears smoother, healthier, and more resilient.

When skin becomes chronically dry, fine lines can become more noticeable and the protective skin barrier may become compromised. A daily moisturizer helps support skin function and maintain hydration.

Look for ingredients such as:

4. Sleeping in Your Makeup

After a long day, skipping your nighttime cleanse can be tempting.

However, sleeping in makeup can leave oil, dirt, environmental pollutants, and cosmetic residue sitting on the skin for hours. This may contribute to clogged pores, irritation, and breakouts.

A gentle cleanse before bed gives your skin the chance to repair and renew overnight.

5. Constantly Touching Your Face

Many people touch their face dozens of times each day without realizing it.

Hands can transfer oil, dirt, and bacteria onto the skin, potentially contributing to irritation and blemishes. Picking at imperfections can also increase the risk of inflammation and post-inflammatory discoloration.

6. Using Too Much Heat on Your Hair

Frequent use of hot tools can gradually weaken hair over time.

Repeated exposure to high temperatures may contribute to:

When possible, use lower heat settings and apply a heat protectant before styling.

7. Neglecting Scalp Health

Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp.

Product buildup, excessive dryness, or untreated scalp irritation can affect the appearance and condition of your hair. Regular cleansing and gentle scalp care can support stronger, healthier-looking strands.

Think of scalp care as an extension of skincare rather than a separate category.

8. Not Getting Enough Sleep

Sleep is one of the body’s most important recovery periods.

During sleep, the body supports tissue repair, hormone regulation, and numerous restorative processes. Chronic sleep deprivation has been associated with increased stress, dull-looking skin, puffiness, and more noticeable under-eye circles.

Most adults benefit from seven to nine hours of quality sleep per night.

9. Smoking and Excessive Alcohol Consumption

Lifestyle habits can significantly affect how skin ages.

Smoking accelerates the breakdown of collagen and elastin, while excessive alcohol consumption can contribute to dehydration and inflammation. Over time, both can impact skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Limiting these habits can support healthier skin and overall wellness.

10. Ignoring Chronic Stress

Stress doesn’t just affect your mood—it can affect your appearance, too.

Long-term stress may contribute to:

Managing stress through exercise, relaxation techniques, social connection, or mindfulness practices can support both physical and emotional well-being.

Small Changes Can Make a Big Difference

Healthy aging isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about supporting your skin, hair, and overall health through consistent habits over time.

Protecting your skin from the sun, prioritizing sleep, staying hydrated, managing stress, and simplifying your routine can often have a bigger impact than adding another expensive product to your shelf. When it comes to maintaining a healthy, vibrant appearance, the little things you do every day tend to matter most.

5 Morning Habits For Naturally Glowing Skin

Healthy, glowing skin isn’t just about expensive products; it’s a result of consistent daily habits. Your morning routine plays a crucial role in how your skin looks and feels throughout the day. By making a few simple changes, you can enhance your natural glow and keep your skin fresh, hydrated, and radiant. Here are five easy morning habits you can follow for naturally glowing skin.

5 Morning Habits For Naturally Glowing Skin

1. Start Your Day With Hydration

One of the simplest yet most effective habits is drinking water as soon as you wake up. After hours of sleep, your body needs hydration to function properly. Drinking a glass of warm water, with or without lemon, helps flush out toxins and improve blood circulation, giving your skin a natural glow.

2. Cleanse Your Face Gently

Cleansing your face in the morning removes excess oil, sweat, and impurities that accumulate overnight. Use a mild cleanser suitable for your skin type to avoid stripping natural oils. Clean skin allows better absorption of skincare products and keeps your face fresh.

3. Don’t Skip Moisturiser

Moisturising is essential, even if you have oily skin. A good moisturiser locks in hydration, strengthens the skin barrier, and keeps your skin soft and supple. Opt for a lightweight, non-greasy formula during summer for a comfortable feel.

4. Apply Sunscreen Daily

Sunscreen is your skin’s best friend. Exposure to harmful UV rays can cause dullness, tanning, and premature ageing. Applying sunscreen every morning, even on cloudy days, helps protect your skin and maintain its natural glow.

5. Eat A Healthy Breakfast

What you eat reflects on your skin. A nutritious breakfast rich in fruits, nuts, and vitamins can do wonders for your complexion. Foods high in antioxidants and hydration help nourish your skin from within, giving you that natural radiance.

Conclusion

Achieving glowing skin doesn’t have to be complicated. By incorporating these simple morning habits into your daily routine, you can naturally improve your skin’s health and appearance. Consistency is key. Stick to these habits, and your skin will thank you with a fresh, radiant glow every day.

Simple Summer Skincare Habits for Healthy, Glowing Skin in Hot Weather

Simple Summer Skincare Habits for Healthy, Glowing Skin in Hot Weather

As temperatures rise and humidity levels intensify during the summer months, skin often becomes more vulnerable to a range of concerns. Increased sweating, excess oil production, dehydration, and prolonged sun exposure can all affect skin health and appearance. Adapting a seasonal skincare routine becomes essential to maintain balance, comfort, and a natural glow throughout the hotter days.

Experts in skincare suggest that effective summer care does not require overly complex routines. Instead, it is about following a few consistent and practical steps that protect the skin while keeping it nourished and refreshed.

Daily Sun Protection for Skin Safety

One of the most important aspects of summer skincare is protecting the skin from harmful ultraviolet rays. Prolonged sun exposure can lead to tanning, pigmentation, premature aging, and uneven skin tone. Using sunscreen on a daily basis helps create a protective barrier against these effects.

Modern formulations such as lightweight and tinted sunscreens are increasingly preferred during summer. These products often combine sun protection with a subtle tone-evening effect, making them suitable for daily wear. Sweat-resistant options also ensure longer-lasting protection, even in humid and active conditions, helping the skin stay shielded throughout the day.

Importance of Hydration for Healthy Skin

Hydration plays a key role in maintaining skin health during the summer season. Higher temperatures can cause the skin to lose moisture more quickly, leading to dryness or an imbalance in oil levels. Ensuring adequate water intake helps support the skin’s natural elasticity and overall freshness from within.

Alongside internal hydration, external skincare choices also matter. Lightweight moisturisers, particularly gel-based formulations, are often recommended for warmer weather. These absorb quickly into the skin without leaving a heavy or greasy feel. They help maintain moisture balance while providing a cooling and soothing effect, especially for those with oily or combination skin types.

Cooling and Refreshing Skincare Ingredients

During hot weather, skincare products that include cooling ingredients can provide added relief. Natural elements known for their refreshing properties are often used in cleansers and body care products to help calm heat-stressed skin.

Ingredients such as watermelon extract and mint-based formulations are commonly associated with a cooling sensation that refreshes the skin. Similarly, eucalyptus-infused body washes are used to cleanse away sweat, dirt, and environmental impurities while maintaining the skin’s natural barrier. These ingredients help leave the skin feeling clean, refreshed, and balanced after exposure to heat and pollution.

Gentle Exfoliation for Smoother Skin

Exfoliation is another important step in summer skincare, but it needs to be done carefully. Mild exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and gradually reduce tanning caused by sun exposure. This results in smoother texture and a brighter appearance over time.

Natural exfoliating elements such as turmeric, sandalwood, and saffron are often included in skincare routines for their skin-enhancing properties. These ingredients are known to support a clearer complexion, reduce minor breakouts, and improve overall skin texture. However, gentle application is key, as excessive exfoliation during summer can lead to irritation or dryness.

Protective Clothing and External Care

Skincare during summer is not limited to products alone. External protection also plays a significant role in reducing skin damage. Wearing light-coloured and breathable clothing helps reflect sunlight and reduces heat absorption. Full-sleeved outfits made from airy fabrics offer additional protection against direct sun exposure.

Accessories such as scarves, hats, and sunglasses can further shield the face and sensitive areas from harsh sunlight. These simple adjustments contribute significantly to reducing tanning and long-term sun damage.

Building a Simple Summer Routine

Overall, summer skincare is most effective when it remains simple, consistent, and focused on protection and hydration. By combining sun protection, adequate hydration, cooling ingredients, gentle exfoliation, and smart clothing choices, it becomes easier to manage the challenges of hot weather.

A balanced approach ensures that the skin remains healthy, comfortable, and naturally radiant throughout the season, even under intense summer conditions.

Skincare habits that actually work in cold weather

Skincare habits that actually work in cold weather

PICTURE: PEXELS/ SKIN CARE

Winter can be tough on your skin—cold air outside, dry indoor heating, and low humidity all work together to strip away moisture. The result? Tight, flaky, dull skin that feels like it needs extra care. The good news is that a simple, consistent routine can completely change your winter skin game.

Also see: How to use rice water for skin care

Here’s how to keep your glow all season long.

1. Switch to a Gentle, Hydrating Cleanser

Foaming or harsh cleansers can over-dry your skin in winter. Instead, opt for cream or hydrating cleansers that clean without stripping your natural oils.

Tip: Wash your face with lukewarm water—not hot water, which worsens dryness.

2. Layer Your Hydration (Not Just Moisturiser)

Hydration is key in cold weather. Think beyond moisturiser:

  • Hydrating toner or essence
  • Hyaluronic acid serum
  • Rich moisturiser to seal everything in

This layering method helps your skin hold moisture longer.

3. Upgrade to a Thicker Moisturiser

Winter is the time to go richer. Look for ingredients like:

  • Shea butter
  • Ceramides
  • Squalane
  • Glycerin

These help repair the skin barrier and prevent moisture loss.

4. Don’t Skip Sunscreen (Yes, Even in Winter)

UV rays are still active during winter, even when it’s cloudy. Daily SPF helps prevent premature ageing and protects your skin barrier.

Also see: Reasons to add sulphur to your skin care routine

5. Hydrate From the Inside Out

Cold weather often reduces how much water we drink. Keep your skin healthy by:

  • Drinking enough water
  • Eating water-rich foods (fruits, soups, vegetables)
  • Reducing excess caffeine

6. Exfoliate Gently (Less Is More)

Over-exfoliating in winter can damage your skin barrier. Stick to:

  • 1–2 times a week
  • Gentle chemical exfoliants (like lactic acid)

Avoid harsh scrubs that cause irritation.

7. Night Repair Is Everything

Nighttime is when your skin repairs itself. Use:

  • A nourishing night cream
  • Facial oils (if your skin is very dry)
  • Overnight masks once or twice a week

Wake up with softer, plumper skin.

8. Don’t Forget Lips, Hands & Body

Winter dryness doesn’t stop at your face:

  • Use lip balm regularly
  • Moisturise hands after washing
  • Apply body lotion immediately after showering

Small habits make a big difference.

Final Glow-Up Thought

Winter skincare isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing the right things consistently. Focus on hydration, barrier protection, and gentle care, and your skin will stay healthy, soft, and glowing even in the coldest months.
