Where Beauty Meets Science: Why MyColla C's "My Brightest Chapter" Event Resonated with Me | Dear Kitty Kittie Kath

Where Beauty Meets Science: Why MyColla C’s “My Brightest Chapter” Event Resonated with Me | Dear Kitty Kittie Kath

As we enter our 30s and 40s, the way we look at beauty starts to change. It’s no longer just about finding the next skincare product or beauty trend. Instead, it’s about creating daily habits that help us feel confident, healthy, and supported from within. As a mom in my 40s balancing work, parenting, content creation, and an active lifestyle, I’ve realized that self-care isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about making intentional choices that help me keep up with the life I love.

That’s exactly the message I took home from My Brightest Chapter, the latest launch event of MyColla C. More than introducing a collagen supplement, the event opened meaningful conversations about beauty, wellness, and aging gracefully through science-backed insights and inspiring personal stories. More about the event after the jump, click continue to read more.

Beauty Meets Science

One of the highlights of the event was the informative talk by Dr. Maika S. Slatensek, who explained collagen in a way that was both practical and easy to understand. She shared that collagen is an important structural protein that helps keep our skin firm, hydrated, and resilient. As we age, our natural collagen production gradually declines, which can lead to visible signs of aging such as dullness, dryness, and reduced skin elasticity. Rather than viewing collagen as a quick beauty fix, Dr. Slatensek encouraged everyone to see it as part of a long-term wellness routine supported by healthy habits and proper nutrition.

Where Beauty Meets Science: Why MyColla C’s “My Brightest Chapter” Event Resonated with Me     She also discussed Marine Collagen, the key ingredient in MyColla C, explaining that it is sourced from fish, rich in Type I Collagen, and hydrolyzed into smaller peptides for easier daily intake. Another key takeaway was the importance of Vitamin C, which plays an essential role in collagen synthesis. Together, these ingredients highlight why supporting collagen production isn’t just about taking collagen alone, it’s also about providing the body with the nutrients it needs to help the process work effectively.Where Beauty Meets Science: Why MyColla C’s “My Brightest Chapter” Event Resonated with Me

Real Conversations About Confidence

Lifestyle personalities Jackie Go and Apple Mendoza shared their own experiences about navigating different stages of womanhood, balancing multiple roles, and learning to prioritize themselves without guilt. As someone who wears many hats every day, I found their stories relatable. Whether you’re managing a career, raising kids, building a business, or simply trying to stay active, confidence often comes from taking small but consistent steps to care for yourself.

An Interactive Wellness Experience

Beyond the talks, My Brightest Chapter created several interactive experiences that encouraged guests to reflect on their own wellness journey. Guests explored My Brightest Pages, where they wrote affirmations and intentions, posed for professional photos at My Brightest Portraits, discovered their wellness personality through the My Brightest Era Quiz, and even mixed their own collagen drinks during the My Colla Mix activity. The event felt less like a product launch and more like a celebration of choosing yourself every day.

My Final Thoughts

One thing I appreciated most about My Brightest Chapter is that it shifted the conversation about aging. Instead of focusing on looking younger, it encouraged women to feel stronger, more confident, and more intentional about taking care of themselves.

As someone constantly juggling motherhood, work, workouts, and everyday responsibilities, that message truly resonated with me. Beauty isn’t about turning back the clock, it’s about supporting yourself through every chapter of life. Sometimes, your brightest chapter doesn’t begin when everything is perfect. It begins the moment you decide to show up for yourself, one healthy habit at a time.

Beauty meets science at wellness conference

Beauty meets science at wellness conference

She also announced the launch of Elite Wellness Consultancy, aimed at supporting structured, ethical and commercially viable wellness enterprises.

HARARE, Apr. 20 (NewsDay Live) — A four-day Skin and Wellness Conference opened in Harare on Monday, bringing together more than 200 local and international delegates in a convergence of science, beauty and wellness.

The event, running until Thursday at a local hotel,, sets the tone for a more rigorous, ethics-driven industry dialogue where aesthetic practice is anchored in science and professional standards.

Organised by Elite Wellness Consultancy under the theme “Raising Professional Standards in Skin and Wellness,” the conference blends cosmetology, clinical insight and business strategy through keynote addresses, panels and masterclasses. Event director Nomsa Mlambo led proceedings, while founder Grace Zichawo — the driving force behind the initiative — positioned the platform as a catalyst for elevating Zimbabwe’s wellness sector.

In her keynote address, Zichawo urged practitioners to move beyond trends and prioritise knowledge, ethics and accountability. She stressed that professionalism requires scientific understanding, consistent service delivery and client-centred care.

“Raising standards is not optional,” she said, calling on practitioners to prioritise safety over popularity in an era shaped by fast-moving social media trends.

She also announced the launch of Elite Wellness Consultancy, aimed at supporting structured, ethical and commercially viable wellness enterprises.

The programme follows a deliberate progression, starting with foundational science and expanding into complex industry discussions. Pharmacist and health literacy advocate Reuben Kathumba highlighted the skin barrier as the body’s first line of defence, explaining how its disruption leads to sensitivity, dehydration and inflammation. He cautioned against over-exfoliation, harsh products and improper layering, stressing that effective treatment begins with a sound understanding of skin structure.

Medical-focused sessions underscored the risks of unregulated cosmetic procedures, warning that inadequate training can turn routine treatments into medical emergencies. The discussions reinforced the need for clear professional boundaries between aesthetic therapy and medical practice.

Addressing the intersection of science and consumer behaviour, Tendai Ngorima examined the growing tension between clinical credibility and social media influence. She pointed to the rise of ingredient-led skincare trends, often misunderstood by consumers, and urged practitioners to prioritise education and ethical consultation over profit-driven decisions.

Panels further explored the link between care and commerce. Moderated by Faustina Muswerakuenda, one discussion reframed retail as an extension of treatment, emphasising the role of home-care products in sustaining results. Another panel, led by Felisha Muzeya, focused on entrepreneurship, highlighting resilience, innovation and navigating sector challenges.

Speakers also outlined global trends shaping the industry, including integrated care models, personalised treatments and continuous professional development. Contributions from international training bodies such as VTCT Skills (ITEC Qualifications) reinforced the importance of globally benchmarked education standards.

Against the backdrop of a rapidly expanding global wellness economy, the conference highlights the growing emphasis on preventive health, skin integrity and holistic care. Such platforms are increasingly critical for knowledge exchange, professional alignment and maintaining competitiveness in a fast-evolving sector.

Award-winning film actor and producer Chiedza Kissa said the conference underscored the importance of informed skincare and wellness practices.

“We should seek expert guidance rather than experimenting blindly with our skin and wellness. It’s inspiring to be among people committed to holistic health,” she said.

As the conference continues, delegates are expected to participate in hands-on tutorials and advanced masterclasses, reinforcing a shared commitment to excellence. The message running through the event is clear: true beauty is not only seen — it is understood, protected and practiced with integrity.

Where Ayurveda Meets Innovation: The Modern Revival of 100% Natural Beauty | Beauty News

Last Updated:December 19, 2025, 13:31 IST

As the beauty industry globally is shifting towards minimalism and mindfulness, India’s Ayurvedic heritage stands at the centre of this movement.

Ayurvedic skincare has been getting modernised

The beauty world is evolving faster than ever – smarter, cleaner, and with a renewed sense of purpose. Amidst this transformation, Ayurveda is experiencing a remarkable revival. Once seen as a traditional, nature-led practice, it is now being reimagined through the lens of science, innovation, and modern wellness.

Swagatika Das, CEO & co-founder of Nat Habit, shares, “This new era of Ayurvedic beauty isn’t just about going back to natural roots. It’s about redefining what natural means — merging ancient wisdom with contemporary research and precision.”

Rediscovery of Age-old Ingredients

Across India and around the world, beauty enthusiasts are rediscovering age-old ingredients like hibiscus, rose, neem, turmeric, and amla. Once celebrated for their heritage, they are now appreciated for their proven performance. Modern studies validate what ancient texts always knew — that hibiscus strengthens the scalp and supports keratin production, neem purifies and soothes, and rose hydrates and calms skin at a cellular level. When these ingredients are used in carefully measured, science-backed concentrations, they transform from traditional remedies into high-performance skincare heroes.

Modern Ayurvedic: Purity Meets Performance

The use of advanced methods such as cold extraction, controlled decoction, and preservative-free processing ensures that bioactive compounds remain potent and effective. The result is skincare that feels luxurious yet purposeful.

Swagatika says, “Consumers today demand proof and transparency. The word ‘natural’ alone no longer inspires trust. Labels are read carefully, ingredients are researched, and brand claims are questioned. People want to know not just what goes into their products, but why and where it comes from.” This is pushing brands to embrace traceability, sustainability, and ingredient integrity like never before.

In this landscape, the modern Ayurvedic movement is more than a beauty trend; it’s a mindset. It celebrates intentional beauty, and every ritual is supposed to nurture wellness and confidence in a person. Self-care is no longer about multi-step routines; it is becoming simpler, quicker, and more meaningful. A hair mask applied after a long day, a gentle cleanse with a natural face wash, or a warm massage with cold-pressed oil.

Knowledge of Ayurveda was once passed down through handwritten texts and now finds validation in modern R&D labs. This intersection creates products that honour nature, are backed by data, and are designed for modern lifestyles.

Globally, the beauty industry is shifting towards minimalism and mindfulness. India’s Ayurvedic heritage stands at the centre of this movement. It speaks to a generation that values clean beauty, ethical sourcing, and products that deliver both wellness and performance.

Italian wellness-skincare brand Comfort Zone steps confidently into this new era, introducing two advanced tools designed to elevate expertise, reinforce trust and unlock measurable results: Skin Test 2.0 and Longevilift.

Skin Test 2.0: Precision Diagnosis, Personalised Beauty

Effective skincare begins with understanding the skin in depth. Skin Test 2.0 is a next-generation diagnostic device offering fast, accurate evaluation through HD imaging, intuitive touchscreen operation, and AI-guided measurements. In just 15 minutes, therapists can assess hydration, sebum, elasticity, texture, pigmentation, pores, redness and wrinkles, generating a full client profile.

Five assessment zones — Face, Décolleté, Hands, Legs, and Sun Exposure — support tailored protocols and instant digital reporting via QR code, enabling seamless home-care continuity. Long-term progress tracking enhances professional authority while driving retail engagement through visible, data-backed improvements. Beyond measurement, Skin Test 2.0 acts as an educational bridge between therapist and guest, deepening consultation and paving the way for evidence-based wellness journeys.

Longevilift: A New Standard in Multi-Tech Rejuvenation

Following diagnosis, Longevilift completes the professional pathway with a 4-in-1 high-performance treatment that combines Aquapeel, Vacuum, Mesoporation and Microcurrent. This synergy detoxifies, resurfaces, brightens, and tones — supporting skin function at muscular, vascular and nervous levels.

Clinical results show immediate transformation: +47 per cent hydration and +22 per cent elasticity*, with 100 per cent of users reporting smoother, more luminous skin**. Suitable even for sensitive or mature textures, Longevilift offers a gentle yet powerful alternative to invasive rejuvenation — perfectly aligned with the global shift toward restorative, technology-enhanced beauty.
