Is stretching effective for beautiful skin? A “1-minute beauty habit” to start today🌸|ポジティブストレッチ

Hello! This is Hasegawa!

“My skin hasn’t been feeling great lately…😢”

Even though I’ve reviewed my skincare routine and changed my cosmetics, my skin just won’t settle down.

At times like that, something that is surprisingly easy to overlook is “moving your body”🏃‍♀️✨.

Actually, a little bit of daily stretching is one of the habits you’ll want to incorporate when aiming for beautiful skin🌿

This time, I will explain the relationship between stretching and beautiful skin in an easy-to-understand way💆‍♀️

🌸 Beautiful skin and “blood flow” are deeply related

To maintain healthy skin, it is important that the oxygen and nutrients necessary for the skin are properly delivered✨

That is where whole-body blood flow🩸 becomes important.

If you continue with long hours of desk work💻, smartphone📱 use, or lack of exercise, your body will stiffen and blood flow will easily stagnate.

In particular, it is not uncommon for people to have stiff necks, shoulders, and backs😣

By slowly stretching your muscles and moving your body, you can expect to promote blood flow🌿

Of course, stretching alone will not solve all skin problems.

However, the perspective of “not just looking at the skin, but conditioning the whole body” is very important when thinking about beautiful skin habits!

🧘‍♀️ Stretching is also useful for “relaxation”

When thinking about beautiful skin, another thing to be conscious of is stress and sleep😴.

When you spend your days busy, you may find yourself tensing your body without realizing it.

Your shoulders might be hunched, or your breathing might be shallow…😮‍💨

If that state continues, it becomes difficult to relax both your mind and body.

That is why I recommend a relaxing stretch before bed🌙.

Breathe slowly while stretching your body to a point that feels good, without bouncing.🍃

Instead of “trying hard to stretch,” try thinking of it as a time to relax your body and say, “Thank you for your hard work today.☺️”!

Incorporating stretching as a habit to feel comfortable and relaxed is also recommended.✨

💆‍♀️ If you’re conscious of beautiful skin, try stretching your “neck and shoulders”

Let’s start with some simple stretches first.🌸

1. Slowly tilt your neck🌿

Sit with your back straight and slowly tilt your neck to the right.

Hold it comfortably where you feel a pleasant stretch along the left side of your neck.✨

Do the same for the other side.

There is no need to stretch so hard that it hurts.🙅‍♀️

It’s okay to just stretch to the point where it “feels good.”😊

2. Rotate your shoulders widely🔄

Lift both shoulders toward your ears, then rotate them widely backward.

Repeat this slowly a few times.✨

This is a stretch that is easy to incorporate even during desk work.💻🌿

3. Open your chest🌸

Clasp your hands behind your back and open your chest while pulling your shoulders back.

This is also recommended for those who tend to hunch over.😊

While taking deep breaths, try stretching comfortably.🌬️✨

You can do it right away!

⏰ Start with “1 minute a day”

When you try to start something for beautiful skin, you might think, “I have to exercise for 30 minutes every day💦” or “I have to do serious training🏋️‍♀️.”

But you don’t need to try too hard from the beginning😊

1 minute when you wake up in the morning🌅

1 minute between work or chores💻

1 minute after a bath🛁

1 minute before going to bed🌙

Let’s start with small habits like these✨

The important thing is to be able to continue without strain!

💖 Beautiful skin is not created by “skincare alone”

The condition of your skin is not determined by skincare alone.

It is related to various factors such as sleep😴, diet🥗, exercise🏃‍♀️, stress😌, and your daily rhythm🌿.

That is why, instead of just “buying expensive cosmetics💄”,

“moving your body🏃‍♀️”

“sleeping well😴”

“breathing slowly🌬️”

are daily habits you should also cherish✨

Stretching requires no special equipment and can be started immediately at home🏠

For today, why not put down your smartphone for just 1 minute📱➡️🌿

and try stretching your neck and shoulders slowly?😊

When your body relaxes, your mood feels a little lighter too.

Accumulating such small changes also leads to habits that aim for healthy skin🌸✨

A “1-minute beauty habit” you can start today💆‍♀️

Please try incorporating it into your daily life as well😊🌿

✔️ Professionals will check your “flexibility”!

If you’re thinking, “Hmm… maybe my body is stiff” or “Why have I been getting tired easily lately?”, please come to Positive Stretch at least once!
Professional trainers will analyze your body’s habits in detail and guide you one-on-one toward a body that moves easily from the root. Please feel free to consult with us.

The Daily Herald - Beauty, Wellness & Everyday Essentials

The Daily Herald – Beauty, Wellness & Everyday Essentials

Discovering Super U Saint-Martin

Shopping in Saint-Martin often means finding a balance between convenience, variety, and products suited to island life. From fresh produce and everyday groceries to beauty, personal care, household essentials, and wellness products, Super U Saint-Martin brings a broad selection together in two convenient locations.

With stores at Howell Center in Galisbay and Hope Estate, Super U serves customers across two important commercial areas of the French side of the island. While each location has its own neighbourhood convenience, the two stores share the same goal: Making it easier for customers to find what they need, whether they are shopping for their household, preparing for a day at the spa, replenishing a salon’s supplies, or simply taking a little time for themselves.

BEAUTY BEYOND THE BASICS

Beauty and personal care are an important part of the Super U selection, with products designed to accommodate a wide range of everyday routines. Customers can find everything from face- and body-care to hair products, personal hygiene, makeup, shaving, hair removal, and beauty accessories.

The range includes shampoos and other haircare products, face masks, moisturizers, shower- and bath-products, hair colour, makeup, and specialized hair care. Men’s grooming products are also part of the selection, reflecting the increasingly broad definition of today’s beauty and personal-care routines.

For customers, this means that a visit to the beauty aisle can be about much more than replacing a bottle of shampoo or picking up a daily hygiene essential. It can also be an opportunity to discover products that help build a more personalized skincare, haircare, or wellness routine.

Among the selection are Super U’s own U and U Bio ranges, which are available in several hygiene, skincare, and wellness categories. These products provide additional choice alongside the many other brands found throughout the stores.

CREATING A SPA EXPERIENCE AT HOME

Wellness doesn’t always require an appointment or a trip to a professional spa. With a few simple products, customers can create a relaxing beauty ritual at home. A face mask followed by a moisturizer can become a simple evening skincare routine. Hair treatments can provide a little extra care after a long week. Bath and shower products can transform an ordinary part of the day into a more relaxing experience.

Face, body, and haircare products are particularly useful for creating these at-home rituals, and the availability of U and U Bio products across several categories gives shoppers additional options to explore. The idea is simple: Wellness can be incorporated into everyday life through small, accessible routines. Whether that means taking a few extra minutes for skincare, caring for dry hair, enjoying a refreshing shower, or simply choosing products that make a daily routine feel more enjoyable, Super U’s beauty selection provides plenty of possibilities.

Super U’s special Beauty promotion runs from Tuesday, September 22, through Saturday, October 3.

The promotion will feature offers across a broad range of categories, including the following:

  • Facial and body care
  • Hair care
  • Hair colour
  • Personal care
  • Makeup
  • Men’s grooming

The event is positioned as Super U’s major beauty highlight for the beginning of the new season. For regular customers, it offers an opportunity to restock familiar favourites, while those looking to try something new can explore a wider selection of beauty and personal-care products. For salon and spa professionals, promotional periods can also be useful opportunities to review everyday supplies and replenish products that are regularly used behind the scenes.

FRESH FOOD MEETS EVERYDAY WELLNESS

Beauty and wellness extend beyond the bathroom cabinet. Nutrition and hydration are also important components of feeling good, and Super U’s fresh-produce departments provide plenty of ingredients that can become part of a healthy daily routine. Customers will find a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, including citrus fruits, cucumbers, mint, herbs, and other seasonal and everyday produce.

These ingredients can be incorporated into simple wellness habits without requiring elaborate preparation. Citrus and mint can be added to water for a refreshing infused drink, while cucumbers and fresh herbs can become part of salads or light meals. Fresh fruits can also provide an easy snack or ingredient for juices and smoothies.

For professionals running a spa or salon, fresh produce can also be convenient when stocking refreshments for staff or clients. A single shopping trip can cover groceries, beverages, cleaning products, hygiene supplies, and other necessities.

A PRACTICAL RESOURCE FOR SALONS AND SPAS

Super U is not a specialized professional wholesaler, but its broad selection can nevertheless be useful to salon and spa owners who need to replenish everyday operational supplies. Many products are available in multipacks, large formats, or family-size packages, making them practical for businesses that regularly go through cleaning, hygiene, laundry, paper, and other consumable products. For example, a professional might combine a beauty-related purchase with essential business supplies such as laundry detergent, cleaning products, paper goods, hygiene products, beverages, and food.

This is particularly relevant for smaller salons, independent professionals, spas, and businesses that may not want to make separate trips to multiple stores for basic operational necessities. The advantage is convenience: Rather than treating professional supplies and personal shopping as two completely separate errands, business owners can address several categories during one visit.

THE ESSENTIALS BEHIND THE SCENES

The products that keep a salon or spa operating smoothly aren’t always the most glamorous ones. Yet hand hygiene products, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, tissues, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and linen-care products are essential to everyday operations. Super U carries many of these practical necessities.

For a salon or spa, these products can be particularly important between appointments. Clean towels and linens need to be washed. Workspaces need to be maintained. Bathrooms need to be stocked. Waste needs to be managed. Hands and surfaces need to remain clean throughout the working day. These are small details, but together they contribute to the smooth running of a professional environment. The ability to pick up these supplies alongside groceries, beverages, fresh produce, and personal-care products adds another layer of convenience for business owners.

TWO LOCATIONS, ONE CONVENIENT SELECTION

Super U’s two Saint-Martin stores are complementary in terms of location. Super U Howell Center is located in Galisbay, close to Marigot, while Super U Hope Estate is situated in one of the French side’s principal commercial areas. Having two locations allows Super U to remain accessible to customers in different parts of the island.

Both stores offer a comprehensive selection covering groceries, fresh produce, beauty, personal care, household cleaning products, and home goods. For residents, that means everyday shopping close to home. For visitors, it provides an accessible place to pick up essentials during their stay. And for local businesses, the two locations offer additional flexibility when an unexpected restock is needed. Both stores are open Monday through Saturday from 8:00am to 8:00pm, with Sunday hours from 8:00am to 12:45pm.

BEAUTY NEEDS IN THE SAINT-MARTIN CLIMATE

Saint-Martin’s climate also influences the way people approach personal care. Unlike destinations with sharply defined beauty seasons, certain needs remain relevant throughout much of the year. Skin hydration, hair care, and sun protection can all remain important regardless of the calendar. Rather than being driven exclusively by seasonal changes, purchasing patterns can therefore be influenced by promotions, personal routines, and the need to replenish products.

This makes the upcoming Beauty promotion particularly timely. From September 22 through October 3, customers will have an opportunity to explore offers across numerous beauty and personal-care categories while restocking the products they use regularly.

U AND U BIO: MORE CHOICE ON THE SHELF

Among the products Super U particularly highlights are its own U and U Bio lines. Available in several areas related to hygiene, skincare, and wellness, these ranges add another option for shoppers looking for everyday products at accessible prices.

The own-brand selection sits alongside the wider range available throughout the stores, giving customers the ability to compare different products and find options that fit their individual routines and budgets. For Super U, the emphasis is on offering choice while remaining attentive to the practical needs of customers living and shopping on the island.

BENEFITS FOR REGULAR SHOPPERS

Customers who shop regularly at Super U can also take advantage of the Carte U loyalty program. Depending on the promotion, the card can provide various benefits and allow customers to earn euros that can be used toward future purchases. Additional themed promotions and special offers take place throughout the year.

For beauty shoppers, the next major opportunity is the September 22-October 3 Beauty promotion, which brings together offers across skincare, body care, haircare, makeup, men’s grooming, and other personal-care categories.

ONE STOP FOR MORE OF YOUR DAY

Perhaps the biggest appeal of Super U for both individuals and professionals is the breadth of the shopping experience. A customer might come in looking for skincare products and leave with fresh fruit, groceries, household supplies, and something for a relaxing evening at home. A salon owner might need laundry detergent and paper towels and also take the opportunity to replenish beverages, food, hygiene products, or personal-care items.

That ability to combine several errands is particularly useful in an island environment, where convenience and accessibility can make a meaningful difference to everyday life. Super U’s philosophy is straightforward: Provide a wide selection of products, adapt that selection to local needs, and make everyday shopping as convenient.

Whether you’re a resident looking after your household, a visitor searching for everyday essentials, or a salon or spa professional managing the practical demands of a business, Super U offers a broad selection across beauty, wellness, fresh food, groceries, hygiene, cleaning, and household categories. And with the Beauty Special running from September 22 through October 3, 2026, this is an especially good time for beauty and personal-care shoppers to explore what’s available.

My First Note | Beauty Habits for Your 30s Without Spending Too Much Time or Money|Milky Cafe

My First Note | Beauty Habits for Your 30s Without Spending Too Much Time or Money|Milky Cafe

Nice to meet you, I’m Milky Cafe☺️

I’m busy and don’t want to spend too much money.
But I don’t want to neglect my beauty, and I want to keep looking beautiful.

I started this note to write about the daily habits I keep as a woman in her mid-30s, as well as how I choose my skincare and haircare products😌🍀

Why I decided to start a note

Recently, when I tell people my age, they often say, “I thought you were around 29 or 30!”

I’m honestly happy when people say that😆

Up until now, I haven’t gone to beauty salons or had cosmetic medical procedures; I’ve just continued with small habits that I felt worked for me.

I don’t know how much each thing contributes, but
looking back, I have small habits that I’ve kept for a long time.

I’ve started to think, “maybe the things I’ve continued little by little are what have led to the person I am today.”😌

I’d like to try putting my experiences into words, little by little☺️

3 habits I continue

① Daily stretching I’ve been doing since I was 20
Stretching when I wake up in the morning.
This is a habit I’ve kept since I was 20.

Since I spend a lot of time sitting, I also do just one minute of stretching before I go to bed.

② My usual breakfast, eaten after a 12-hour fast
It’s my habit to eat breakfast 12 hours after my last meal of the previous day.
What I eat for breakfast is also always the same😆

I’d like to introduce what I eat and why I choose it,
along with my meal timing, in future posts😌🍀

③ Self-massage for the neck, shoulders, and head
During the day, I spend a lot of time using my PC and often stay in the same posture.
Because of that, my shoulders, neck, and head get stiff very quickly😣

Furthermore, I’ve started to worry about laugh lines and sagging,
so I’ve started incorporating self-massage as care I can do myself.

I do it from my back above the shoulder blades up to my neck and head☺️

They are all very simple!
I will introduce the details of my stretches, my breakfast menu, and my massage techniques
little by little in each article☺️

What I want to write about in this note

Daily beauty habits and how I choose my skincare and haircare products.
I would like to share my experiences, including what I feel works for me and my thoughts on the things I have actually tried.

Actually, I am interested in plastic surgery, but I am still too scared to try it.😣
With that feeling in mind, I am continuing to do what I can for myself little by little.

I want to cherish who I am now while continuing to take care of myself without spending too much money or time, and without overdoing it.

I would be happy to connect here with anyone who thinks, “I know exactly how you feel!”😌🎀

I look forward to getting to know you all.🤗

Naturals Beauty marks 18 years with 2 new skincare products

Naturals Beauty marks 18 years with 2 new skincare products

Local skincare brand Naturals Beauty is marking its 18th anniversary with two new locally made products, expanding its offering with a peptide-focused facial serum and a botanical body oil ahead of the summer season.

Image supplied

Founded in a South African mother’s kitchen, Naturals Beauty has grown into a local skincare business built around naturally inspired ingredients, local manufacturing and uncomplicated formulations.

The latest launches — the Re-Gen Peptide Power Serum and Botanical Body Oil — extend the brand’s offering from targeted facial care to everyday body care.

“Eighteen years ago, Naturals Beauty started because I wanted products I felt comfortable using on my own family,” says founder Tanya du Bois. “That belief in effective, uncomplicated skincare has never changed.”

A science-led addition to the range

The Re-Gen Peptide Power Serum introduces a more targeted approach to facial skincare, centred on a 2% biotechnology-derived peptide active produced using plant-based biotechnology.

Image supplied

The formula also contains Copper Tripeptide-1 and Malachite Extract, combining peptide technology with antioxidant and skin-conditioning ingredients. Designed for all skin types, including sensitive skin, the lightweight, fragrance-free serum can be incorporated into morning or evening skincare routines.

The product is positioned around smoother, firmer-looking and more resilient skin, while keeping application relatively simple — applied after cleansing and before moisturiser and sunscreen.

Botanical body care for summer

The Botanical Body Oil takes the brand’s approach into body care, combining Sweet Almond, Jojoba and Baobab oils with Neroli, Rose Geranium and Sweet Orange essential oils.

Image supplied

The fast-absorbing formulation is designed to nourish dry skin without leaving a heavy residue. The brand is positioning it as a summer-friendly addition to daily routines, particularly following activities such as swimming and shaving or exposure to sun and air conditioning.

The oil can be applied to slightly damp skin after bathing or showering to help retain moisture.

From kitchen beginnings to local skincare brand

Naturals Beauty was established 18 years ago after founder du Bois began making skincare products at home for her family.

That focus on accessible, locally produced skincare remains central to the business as it expands its product portfolio.

“We’ve learnt so much over 18 years, but I still come back to the same question when we develop something new: does this product have a genuine place in someone’s routine?” says du Bois.

“Beauty can become incredibly complicated. We want Naturals Beauty to be the opposite of that. Good ingredients, considered formulations and products that people actually enjoy using.”

Both new products launched on 23 August 2026 and are available through the Naturals Beauty online store and selected stockists nationwide.

The launches give the brand an opportunity to mark its anniversary while responding to two established areas of consumer skincare demand: more targeted facial treatments and simplified body-care routines.

The Canadian Beauty Shopping Habits Turning Skincare Into a Self-Care Ritual

The Canadian Beauty Shopping Habits Turning Skincare Into a Self-Care Ritual

Beauty shopping is becoming less about filling a bathroom shelf and more about deciding what genuinely earns a place in an everyday routine. In Canada, where consumers can move between drugstores, department stores, specialist retailers and increasingly sophisticated online beauty shops, the choice is no longer simply about finding the newest product. It is about finding products that fit how people actually want to live.

That shift changes the meaning of skincare shopping. A purchase can be functional, but it can also become part of a slower evening ritual, a few minutes spent looking after yourself rather than simply addressing a perceived flaw. The result is a more considered relationship with beauty, where formulation, purpose and personal routine all matter.

The Beauty Shelf Is Becoming More Intentional

The most revealing change may be what consumers leave off the shelf. Instead of automatically building elaborate routines, shoppers are increasingly able to compare ingredients, understand what individual products are intended to do, and decide whether another step is genuinely necessary.

For someone building a quieter evening ritual, something as simple as applying a caffeine eye cream can become one small part of that process. OKOA’s formula combines caffeine and squalane with botanical extracts and other actives, and is designed for use around the eye contour. The broader lesson is less about one product than the way a specific step can have a defined purpose within a personal routine.

This kind of selectivity can make skincare feel less like maintenance and more like a moment of pause. The product matters, but so does the habit of stopping for a few minutes at the end of the day.

Canadian beauty retail is operating in a market where ingredient awareness has become increasingly visible. Shoppers do not necessarily need to understand every molecule in a formula, but they can now investigate why an ingredient is there and what role it is intended to play.

That is partly what makes modern skincare shopping different from simply choosing a product based on packaging. Consumers can compare formulas, read about active ingredients and decide whether a product aligns with their existing routine.

Retail Insider’s coverage of Indeed Labs’ 15th anniversary provides one example of how the Canadian market has developed around targeted, science-led skincare. The company’s history includes products designed around particular concerns rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, reflecting a wider emphasis on formulation and purpose.

For the consumer, that creates a more informed shopping experience. The question becomes less “What is everyone buying?” and more “What does my skin actually need?”

Self-Care Does Not Have to Mean More

There is a temptation to equate self-care with indulgence, but skincare can work differently. A routine can be calming precisely because it is familiar and limited.

A cleanser, moisturizer, treatment, and daytime SPF may be enough for one person. Someone else may enjoy adding an eye product or a more targeted treatment at night. Neither approach needs to be treated as superior.

That is where the idea of ritual becomes useful. Applying skincare slowly, rather than rushing through it, creates a small boundary between the demands of the day and the time that follows. The product becomes part of the ritual without becoming the whole point.

Canadian Retail Is Bringing More Choice to the Shelf

Choice is also becoming a larger part of the Canadian beauty landscape. Retail Insider’s recent coverage of IOPE’s arrival through Sephora Canada illustrates how international skincare brands rooted in research and ingredient development are continuing to enter the market. The launch gives Canadian shoppers another example of how global skincare concepts are increasingly available through familiar retail channels.

For consumers, more choice can be valuable, but it also makes discernment more important. When shelves become crowded with actives, technologies and claims, a routine built around a few clearly understood priorities may be easier to maintain.

The growth of research-led skincare also reflects the wider movement toward products that explain what they are designed to do, rather than relying entirely on the promise of transformation.

There is another side to this trend that has less to do with ingredients and more to do with experience. Choosing a skincare product can become a form of self-care when the decision is deliberate.

Perhaps that means spending time reading the label instead of buying impulsively. Perhaps it means replacing a product that no longer suits your routine rather than accumulating three more alternatives. Or it can mean choosing a texture that makes an evening ritual enjoyable enough to repeat.

That relationship between precision and daily use is explored in the changing language of skincare, where longevity and thoughtful routines have become part of the broader conversation.

The Minimalist Beauty Cabinet Has an Advantage

A smaller routine does not necessarily mean a less sophisticated one. A carefully developed formula can combine several functions, allowing one product to serve a clear role without adding unnecessary complexity.

That is particularly relevant as shoppers become more attentive to the idea of a minimalist beauty wardrobe. The emphasis is not on owning the fewest products possible, but on knowing why each product is there. This approach is also reflected in the idea of minimalist beauty, where skincare staples are considered alongside personal style and everyday practicality.

The New Luxury Is a Routine You Actually Enjoy

Beauty shopping can still be exciting. New launches, unfamiliar ingredients and international brands all have their place. But the most sustainable purchase may be the one that becomes part of a routine you genuinely enjoy using.

That is perhaps the most interesting shift in Canadian beauty shopping. Skincare is moving beyond the idea of correction and toward something more personal: a few intentional minutes of care, supported by products chosen for a reason.

The mirror may still be part of the experience, but it is no longer the only measure of whether a routine feels worthwhile. As a recent Forbes discussion of the mirror and lens suggests, the way we look at something can change what we notice about it. In skincare, that may mean seeing the ritual itself as part of the benefit, not simply the appearance that follows.

The wait is over — meet the winners of the Vogue Beauty & Wellness Honours 2026

The wait is over — meet the winners of the Vogue Beauty & Wellness Honours 2026

The Vogue Beauty & Wellness Honours 2026 celebrates the names that made us stop, test twice and take notice. Getting to this list, however, took more than a few enthusiastic swipes of lipstick. Vogue India’s editors spent weeks testing, researching and shortlisting the year’s most compelling launches across over 25 categories spanning skincare, haircare, makeup, fragrance and wellness. The finalists were then put before an expert jury comprising Vogue India’s Head of Editorial Content Rochelle Pinto, entrepreneur and philanthropist Sara Tendulkar, actor Jacqueline Fernandez, makeup artist and educator Puneet B Saini, hair expert Hiral Bhatia, Pilates educator and founder of Radhika’s Balanced Body, Radhika Karle, and dermatologist and medical director of The Bombay Skin Clinic, Dr Batul Patel. At an in-person jury meet, they tested, debated and weighed up the nominees before settling on their favourites.

But beauty is as personal as it is expert-led, so we wanted to know what our readers thought, too. For a month, the same shortlist was opened to voting on our website, giving our audience the chance to champion the products and places that had earned a place in their own routines. The results bring both perspectives together: across all our categories, you’ll find a Jury Winner alongside a Reader’s Choice with select Editor’s Picks also spotlighted. After weeks of thorough testing, a roomful of expert deliberation and a month of readers’ voting, these are the products, innovations and spaces that rose above a very crowded field.

Skincare

Cleanser

Jury Winner – Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Rejuvenating Cleansing Foam

A cleanser may be the quickest step in a routine, but this one made the jury pay attention. Ginseng peptides and amino acids give the formula its skincare credentials, while its ability to cleanse without leaving skin stripped is what pushed it ahead.

Reader’s Choice – Clarins Hydrating Gentle Foaming Cleanser

Il Sole 24 Ore

Beauty combines skincare, aesthetics and longevity

The beauty market is expanding and moving beyond traditional practices. More and more consumers are complementing their skincare and make-up routines with beauty treatments and solutions focused on performance and longevity (tools and treatments related to health, bodily function and the prevention of ageing), in a process that is redefining the boundaries of the sector.

Driving this change is what the second edition of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) study, in collaboration with WWD, “Consumers Are Shaping a New Age of Optimisation in Beauty”, defines as the “optimizer” consumer: a profile that integrates aesthetic procedures and treatments aimed at performance and longevity into their traditional beauty routine, and which today accounts for 6 per cent of American adults – approximately 15 million people. Over the past twelve months, this segment has spent an average of $3,000 across the three categories.

According to the survey, carried out in April in the US amongst 5,000 consumers of beauty products, around 70 per cent of respondents said they were open to non-traditional solutions, whilst 80 per cent considered beauty to be a matter of physical and mental wellbeing, not just outward appearance. Should the ‘optimisers’ segment double in size, the report estimates a potential of over 30 billion dollars in added value for the entire beauty ecosystem, of which over 10 billion is linked to aesthetic procedures and more than 20 billion to the performance and longevity categories.

“Traditional beauty – understood as skincare, make-up and hair care – remains the cornerstone of the category, as it is upon this that consumers build their routines, but its definition is broadening,” comments Guia Ricci, managing director and partner at BCG. “Rather than relying solely on a few flagship products, today’s consumers combine solutions that address aesthetics, physical performance and longevity to achieve their desired results. This is a shift that brands must take note of: these consumers are pointing the way forward for the sector.”

70 per cent of beauty enthusiasts now regard cosmetic procedures as a regular part of their routine, a habit that is also reflected in their purchasing behaviour within the traditional beauty sector: 70 per cent have increased their spending on premium or medical-grade skincare products, whilst 50 per cent have introduced new steps or ingredients into their routine. A similar trend is evident with GLP-1 drugs, which are creating new beauty needs: they have been used by 30 per cent of optimisers in the last twelve months and, amongst those who have noticed physical changes or changes in skin quality, around half have turned to luxury or medical-grade skincare products, whilst amongst those who have experienced a loss of skin firmness, almost 80 per cent have increased their use of fillers, injectables, skin-tightening treatments or laser treatments. ‘Optimisers’ are also four times more likely than the average consumer to take supplements for longevity and to combat ageing, and twice as likely to use beauty supplements.

Move Over French Girl Skincare

Move Over French Girl Skincare: Experts Say Australia’s “No Worries” Beauty Philosophy Is Taking Over the World

Move Over French Girl Skincare: Experts Say Australia’s “No
Worries” Beauty Philosophy Is Taking Over the World

You have probably, at some point, found yourself
layering snail mucin under camel milk, following a ten-step Korean
skincare routine that promised poreless perfection. Or maybe you
invested in French micellar water and the perfect rouge, chasing
that effortlessly chic Parisian glow that somehow always felt out
of reach. We have collectively spent years hopping from one
international beauty philosophy to another, always convinced the
next one would finally crack the code. But what if the real secret
was not about adding more steps – it was about stripping them away
entirely?

How we ended up with overflowing bathroom shelves

Think about the beauty rituals we
have adopted from around the world. K-beauty arrived from Korea
with elaborate multi-step regimens and exotic ingredients like
snail mucus and camel milk, all in pursuit of flawless skin.
Japanese beauty introduced streamlined yet luxurious products
rooted in refined skin rituals. And French girl beauty captivated
us for years, from pharmacy staples to that coveted undone look
that remained, for most of us, impossible to truly replicate – even
for the most devoted Francophiles.

Each of these traditions brought
something culturally rich and genuinely valuable to our

routines
. They still deserve a place in our hearts and
our cabinets. But here is the thing: have you noticed how
exhausting it has become to keep up? The sheer number of products,
the layering sequences, the rules – it all started to feel like a
second job rather than self-care.

That collective fatigue opened
the door to something refreshingly different. A movement rooted not
in complexity but in simplicity, nature, and a laid-back mindset.
It is called A-Beauty, short for Australian Beauty, and it is
quickly reshaping what we expect from our skincare.

Why the land down under is rewriting the beauty
playbook

At the heart of A-Beauty is a
philosophy that mirrors the Australian way of life itself. The
beach, the sun, the great outdoors – these are not just lifestyle
perks but beauty’s unsung heroes. Irene Falcone, a clean lifestyle
expert and the founder of Nourished Life, has described A-Beauty as
centered on simple, pared-back regimens built around naturally
derived products packed with powerful ingredients that actually
deliver on their promises.

Australians are known worldwide
for their relaxed, stress-free outlook, and Falcone notes that this
very approach to life is thought to have a positive impact on how
skin looks and feels. Unlike the pharmaceutical-heavy formulas
associated with French skincare or the intricate layering protocols
of Korean routines, A-Beauty is deliberately unfussy, hardworking,
and natural.

What makes it even more
distinctive is where the ingredients come from. Australia’s
geography is rare and precious – spanning sand, sea, forest, and
desert in ways found nowhere else on the planet. That diverse,
flourishing landscape yields highly innovative botanical
ingredients that skin genuinely responds to. Australian beauty
brands tend to be made not just in Australia but quite literally
from Australia, harnessing native flora and terrain-specific
elements that set them apart from anything else on the global
market.

A post-pandemic shift toward less-is-more skincare

The timing of A-Beauty’s rise is
no coincidence. The last few years pushed us to increase our
self-care efforts dramatically, yet they simultaneously forced us
to simplify. Hair regained its natural texture and color –
sometimes by choice, sometimes not. Nails went bare. Skin got a
well-earned break from layers of product. We collectively turned
our backs on overcomplicated, fussy routines and began craving
something more streamlined.

That craving dovetailed perfectly
with a broader cultural shift toward sustainability and
transparency. Falcone has called the move toward A-Beauty an
evolution that ties into current trends of minimalism, ingredient
transparency, and the expectation that products should do exactly
what they claim. With nature and the environment at its core, this
philosophy reflects our growing investment in understanding what we
put on our skin – and consuming beauty in a way that is sensitive
to issues like
climate change
and sustainability.

Global research by McKinsey
reinforces the momentum. According to the firm’s findings, the
pandemic increased demand for natural, sustainable beauty, with 57%
of consumers stating they had made significant changes to their
lifestyles to lessen their environmental impact. A-Beauty, with its
emphasis on efficacy, natural ingredients, and eco-conscious
processes, sits squarely at the intersection of everything modern
consumers say they want.

What this means for your routine going forward

The takeaway here is genuinely
liberating. You do not need a ten-step regimen or a cabinet full of
imported serums to take excellent care of your skin. A-Beauty
suggests the opposite: fewer products, potent natural ingredients
sourced from one of the most biodiverse landscapes on earth, and a
mindset that treats stress reduction as a legitimate skincare
strategy. It is an approach that is kind to you and kind to the
planet. And honestly, in a world that keeps getting more
complicated, a beauty philosophy built on simplicity might be
exactly what we all need next.

Oriflame SkinFest 2026: Celebrating Integrative Beauty From The Inside Out

Oriflame SkinFest 2026: Celebrating Integrative Beauty From The Inside Out

On Saturday, 18th July 2026, Oriflame Nigeria welcomed over 800 guests to Marcelina’s Place, Lagos, for the second edition of Oriflame SkinFest, a vibrant celebration of beauty, wellness, education, and community.

Centered around the theme “Integrative Beauty,” SkinFest 2026 went beyond traditional skincare conversations to explore how healthy skin is influenced by the choices we make every day from the products we use and the food we eat to the lifestyle habits we cultivate.

Bringing together skincare enthusiasts, wellness advocates, healthcare professionals, beauty experts, Brand Partners, and guests from across Nigeria, the event showcased Oriflame’s philosophy of helping people carve their unique path to wellbeing.

A Beauty Experience from the Moment Guests Arrived

Guests were welcomed into an immersive beauty experience where they explored interactive product stations featuring Oriflame‘s latest innovations and best-selling collections.

From elegant fragrances like Divine Dark Velvet and the newly launched Mister Giordani Gold Eau de Parfum and Miss Giordani Gold Eau de Parfum, to personal care favourites such as Feminelle, wellness solutions from Wellosophy, and Oriflame‘s advanced Novage+ skincare range, attendees had the opportunity to touch, test and experience the products firsthand.

One of the biggest attractions throughout the day was the Novage+ Digital Skin Diagnostic Tool, where guests received personalised skin analyses and recommendations tailored specifically to their skin concerns. Instead of relying on guesswork or social media trends, attendees left with a clearer understanding of what their skin truly needed.

The event was also attended by the management team of Oriflame Nigeria, including Nikola Baroli, Oriflame Nigeria’s Managing Director; Adesewa Okeyinka, Marketing and Sales Support Manager; Oluseyi Abiri, Operations Manager; and Oyindamola Tella, Operations Manager, who joined guests and Brand Partners in experiencing the celebration of beauty, wellness and self-care.

Setting the Tone for the Day

The official programme commenced with a welcome address from Oriflame Nigeria‘s Marketing and Sales Support Manager, Adesewa Okeyinka, who warmly welcomed guests to SkinFest 2026.

She spoke about Oriflame‘s commitment to empowering people through beauty, wellness, education, and entrepreneurship, while encouraging everyone to embrace beauty as a lifestyle rooted in healthy habits rather than unrealistic beauty standards.
Her address perfectly introduced the day’s theme Integrative Beauty where beauty is viewed as the connection between skincare, wellness, confidence, nutrition, self-care, and healthy living.

Learning the Science Behind Great Skin

The first educational sessions were led by Oriflame Top Brand Partners, who guided guests through practical skincare education while simplifying the science behind achieving healthy-looking skin.

Rather than focusing on complicated routines, they encouraged attendees to first understand their skin before choosing products.

The sessions explored the advanced skincare science behind Novage+, introducing guests to innovative technologies including Bio Lumilock, Aspatrolift, Bio Sebum Control, and Bio Collagen Pro, each designed to target different skincare concerns such as uneven skin tone, dullness, excess oil, fine lines, and loss of firmness.

Guests were also introduced to the newly launched Novage+ Proceuticals 10% Niacinamide Power Drops, learning how its powerful formulation helps improve skin texture, visibly brighten the complexion, support the skin barrier, and reduce the appearance of pores, making it a versatile addition to many skincare routines.

Throughout the sessions, one message remained clear: skincare is not about changing who you are it’s about understanding your skin and giving it the care it deserves.

Healthy Smiles Complete Healthy Living

Continuing the morning’s conversations around holistic wellness, Dr. Chidera Nyingifa, a certified dentist, took the stage to speak about an area of beauty that is often overlooked oral health.

Dr. Chidera Nyingifa delivered an insightful session on oral health, sharing practical tips for maintaining healthy teeth and gums while emphasizing the connection between oral hygiene, overall wellbeing, and confidence. She also spotlighted the Oriflame Optifresh range including the Pro White Toothpaste, Maximum Fresh Toothpaste, and Sensitive Toothpaste reinforcing the message that beauty and wellness go beyond skincare.

Discovering Oriflame’s Latest Innovations

Guests were then taken on an exciting journey through Oriflame‘s newest beauty innovations by Oriflame Product Specialist, Awa Irene.

She introduced the science, inspiration and benefits behind the latest launches, including the Novage+ Proceuticals 10% Niacinamide Power Drops, the sophisticated Mister Giordani Gold and Miss Giordani Gold Eau de Parfum, the nourishing Milk & Honey Gold Shampoo and Conditioner, the glossy The ONE Hydrating Shine Lip Gloss, the volume-enhancing The ONE WonderLash XXL Mascara, and the Optifresh oral care range.

Guests gained a deeper appreciation of the research and innovation behind each product and how they fit into a complete beauty and wellness routine.

Real Stories. Real Transformations.

One of the most inspiring moments of the day came from Rachael Udenkwo, Oriflame Face of Nigeria 2026, who shared her “Glow Up with Oriflame” journey.

She spoke candidly about embracing healthier habits and how incorporating Wellosophy Meal Replacement into her lifestyle supported her weight management journey, boosted her confidence, and encouraged her to make healthier choices every day.
Her testimony reminded guests that true transformation happens through consistency and self-care not shortcuts.

Panel Session One: Understanding Your Skin at Every Stage

The first panel discussion was moderated by Oriflame Product Specialist, Awa Irene, and featured an esteemed lineup of speakers, including Kunle Remi—award-winning actor, one of Nigeria’s most recognizable screen talents, and Oriflame Brand Ambassador; Dr. Adefunke Arowolo, a medical doctor and Health Educator; Dr. Peter Odunuyi, a Chemical Pathologist in Metabolic Medicine  and lifestyle enthusiast; and Loretta Kama, an Oriflame Top Leader.

The conversation focused on understanding the skin through different stages of life and explored how age, hormones, lifestyle, nutrition, stress, and environmental factors influence skin health. Panelists also challenged common skincare myths while encouraging attendees to choose products based on their individual skin needs rather than social media trends.

Speaking during the session, Dr. Adefunke Arowolo emphasized the importance of adapting skincare routines as the skin changes over time. She noted that “as you grow older, your skincare should grow with you,” highlighting the need for skincare to evolve with age and recommending anti-ageing solutions such as the Novage+ range to help address changing skin concerns.

Dr. Peter Odunuyi also shed light on the dangers of using harmful and unregulated skincare products, explaining how certain ingredients and practices can damage the skin barrier, trigger long-term skin concerns and compromise overall skin health. He encouraged attendees to prioritize safe, quality skincare products and make informed choices when building their skincare routines.

Kunle Remi highlighted the growing importance of skincare for men, encouraging more men to take an active interest in caring for their skin. He noted that skincare is not exclusive to women but an essential part of overall grooming, wellness and self-care for everyone.

It was an insightful conversation that helped guests better understand that great skincare starts with knowledge.

Panel Session Two: Beauty Starts from Within

The second panel session was moderated by Oriflame Commercial Planner Buhari Memunat, who was joined by Dr. Adefunke Arowolo, Dr. Peter Odunuyi, Kunle Remi, and Oriflame Top Brand Partner Iniye Emelife.

This session focused on the power of holistic wellness and the impact that everyday lifestyle choices can have on overall health, confidence, and wellbeing.

A standout moment was hearing Iniye Emelife’s inspiring wellness journey. Through consistency, healthier habits, and the support of the Oriflame Wellosophy Meal Replacement, Iniye achieved a remarkable weight-loss transformation that has positively impacted her overall health, energy levels, and quality of life. Her story served as a powerful reminder that wellness is a journey, and that caring for the body from within can lead to lasting, visible results.

The session beautifully reinforced the principle of Integrative Beauty that true confidence and radiant skin begin with a healthy body and balanced lifestyle.

A Journey of Transformation

Following the second panel discussion, Oriflame Top Leader Damilola Adeniji took to the stage to share her own “Glow Up with Oriflame” story.

She opened up about her struggles with weight management and how embracing healthier habits, alongside the support of Wellosophy Meal Replacement, helped her achieve her desired weight and build greater confidence.
Her story resonated deeply with the audience, serving as a powerful reminder that lasting transformation comes through consistency, patience, and choosing a healthier lifestyle.

Ending on a High Note

To round off the event, another exciting round of games brought smiles, laughter, and plenty of excitement to the audience.
Guests enthusiastically participated, with winners receiving Oriflame goodie bags, ending the day on a joyful and memorable note.

Thank You for Making SkinFest 2026 Unforgettable

SkinFest 2026 was far more than a skincare event.

It was a celebration of Integrative Beauty, bringing together skincare science, wellness, nutrition, oral care, fragrance, personal care, expert knowledge, technology, and inspiring real-life stories under one roof.

To our over 800 guests, distinguished speakers, healthcare professionals, Brand Partners, volunteers, beauty experts, and every member of the Oriflame community who made SkinFest 2026 possible thank you.
