Hailey Bieber’s favourite skin barrier cream is now 43 per cent off

A humble-looking tube of French pharmacy skincare that has earned a cult following for its ability to comfort skin when it is feeling dry, irritated or generally unhappy.

Avene Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Skin Barrier Repair Cream is currently available for $23.99, down from $41.99, giving shoppers a 43 per cent saving.

And it is already proving popular, with more than 1,000 units bought in the past month.

The rich repair cream has also attracted plenty of celebrity attention, with Hailey Bieber and Sofia Richie among the names of celebrities who use the cult-favourite formula.

For anyone whose bathroom cabinet is filled with products promising brighter, smoother and more radiant skin, Cicalfate+ takes a different approach. Its job is to help skin recover.

That makes it particularly appealing when your complexion has been pushed a little too far by weather, shaving, beauty treatments or an overenthusiastic skincare routine.

Why everyone keeps reaching for Cicalfate+

The formula is designed to soothe uncomfortable, damaged and compromised skin while helping replenish the skin barrier.

According to Avene, the cream is clinically proven to repair the skin barrier four times faster, with visible improvement reported in as little as two days.

It is also designed to provide immediate hydration after the first application, while its rich, creamy texture spreads across the skin and leaves behind a protective layer.

In other words, this is the sort of product that earns its place in the bathroom cabinet because it can be pulled out whenever skin starts behaving badly.

It can be used on both the face and body, and the brand positions it as a multi-purpose cream for everything from heat-affected skin and razor irritation to the nappy area, after tattoos and following superficial dermatological procedures.

For skincare minimalists, that versatility is a big part of the appeal.

The $24 deal is the part to know about

Right now, the Amazon deal brings the price down to $23.99 from $41.99.

That means shoppers are saving $18, or 43 per cent, on a product that is already attracting serious attention online.

One shopper summed up their experience simply, writing: “Best moisturiser!”

The combination of celebrity approval, strong shopper interest and a substantial discount makes this one of those skincare deals that is easy to understand. You do not need to completely overhaul your routine.

You simply add a hardworking barrier cream to the shelf for the days when your skin needs a little extra help.

And with more than 1,000 bought in the past month, it seems plenty of shoppers have already made their decision.

The beauty cupboard essential for irritated skin

No elaborate application ritual, no lengthy list of steps and no need to reserve it for one particular skincare concern.

It is a rich protective cream designed for dry, irritated or compromised skin, making it particularly useful for anyone who wants a dependable product to reach for when their complexion needs comfort rather than another active ingredient.

At $23.99, it is also considerably easier to justify than many of the prestige skincare products currently fighting for space on beauty shelves.

Celebrity endorsements and individual skincare experiences are not guarantees that a product will suit every complexion.

If your skin is persistently irritated or damaged, it is worth seeking advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

For everyone else, this could be the skincare bargain worth adding to the next Amazon order, particularly while the 43 per cent discount is still available.

Salmon sperm facials and mushroom powders – our favourite beauty treatments revealed

Young people are spending more than £6,500 a year on wellness and beauty treatments, a survey has shown(Image: Getty Images)

Youngsters are shelling out over £6,500 a year on outlandish wellness and beauty trends, a survey has claimed.

Previous advice has been limited to cleanse, tone and moisturise, drink enough water and move more. But this is not enough for the social media generation, it seems.

Salmon sperm facials, collagen supplements, weight loss injections and mushroom powders are now much more the order of the day. And., according to the study, British women now spend an average of £554 every month on feeling and looking their best.

Men aren’t too far behind, shelling out £431 on a range of wellness products – and this is despite 94% of Brits surveyed saying we needed to take a step back and go back to the basics with our health and wellness routines.

Brits believe self-care was far simpler for previous generations(Image: Getty Images)

Nearly half of the 2,000 people surveyed said they had a regular self-care routine, with 37% using skin-boosting collagen and 31% taking multi-vitamin pills or even multi-vitamin injections. But more than half (52%) of those under 40 say they find it overwhelming trying to keep up with modern day wellness and beauty trends, while 25% admit they are spending more than they should on looking younger and feeling better.

Collagen supplements (49%) emerged as the product Brits have bought most in the last few years, followed by probiotic skincare (36%). Yet almost a quarter (23%) admit they have been duped into buying the latest wellness product, only to be completely underwhelmed by its supposed benefits.

Nearly two thirds (68%) insist they often look back at their parents and grandparents’ health routines which consisted of nothing more than eating healthily and getting some exercise. In fact, 79% said the idea of looking after yourself was a much simpler process 25 years ago in the survey by Pukka herbs.

According to the respondents polled, older generations swore by basic health principles, such as getting a good night’s sleep (72%), drinking plenty of water (65%) and getting fresh air (52%). And in the spirit of keeping it simple, 92% of those polled said getting closer to nature is good for their physical and mental health, with 47% insisting they try to get an hour outside every day.

Eleonora Zoani, Senior Herbal Blending Manager at Pukka, which is launching a ‘Nothing Beats Nature’ campaign says, “From expensive “miracle” remedies to artificial products, we’re living in a time where our modern wellness routines have become a source of overwhelm and just another thing to fit into our busy everyday lives. There was once a time when things were simpler, and the blueprint for feeling well in body and mind was more accessible. Reconnecting with nature and embracing the daily consumption of herbal teas, allows us to harness the benefits that herbs have to offer.”

The top 15 products that young Brits are spending their cash on are:

1. Collagen supplements

2. Probiotic skincare

3. Hyaluronic Acid Skin boosting serums

4. Gut health supplements

5. Ice rolling/Cryo sticks

6. Vitamin supplements

7. Hair regrowth products

8. Muscle building BCAAs/creatine/protein powders

9. Sleep supplements

These needle-free treatments rival your favourite injectables

These needle-free treatments rival your favourite injectables

Perhaps it’s the world’s sudden fascination with regenerative procedures and a swift move away from the traditional tweaks of old, but needle-free treatments have become front and centre of the burgeoning aesthetics world.

These cutting-edge treatments are a far cry from the non-invasive procedures which once did little more than offer a surface-level glow; the latest advancements promise similar, if not superior, results to injectables and provide long-term skin benefits too, from boosting your skin’s renewal processes to supercharging collagen production.

That you can now yield long-lasting and effective results is welcome news for those who have long feared the pain, downtime, and sometimes, simply just the sheer element of a needle, associated with popular treatments such as dermal fillers, polynucleotides and Botox.

Ahead, Dr Christine Hall, an aesthetic doctor and pharmacist, and Dr Ali Ghanem, an aesthetic doctor at The Ghanem Clinic, share the top needle-free treatments taking the industry by storm.

Ultherapy Prime

“Dermal fillers are falling out of favour and patients are more into treatments that stimulate their own collagen,” shares Dr Hall. Ultherapy Prime is one such treatment: it harnesses microfocused ultrasound energy to boost collagen production, which, in turn, helps to lift and tighten skin and can be used on the face, neck, and décolletage.

“The key thing with regenerative aesthetics is that you want to stimulate as much collagen as possible, and there are different ways of doing this: Ultherapy Prime works by creating tiny burns which signals to your body to go into repair mode and kickstart skin renewal,” she adds. But unlike injectables such as polynucleotides, there’s little pain involved, save for a tingling or warming sensation caused by the ultrasound energy device.

Red light therapy

Dr Hall has also noticed a resurgence in red light therapy due to new technology and advancements improving its efficacy. These treatments will differ, but the concept remains the same, whereby red light is absorbed by the mitochondria in cells, which increases their energy production and encourages cellular repair.

“There are lots of new studies proving its power; there’s also no downtime, it takes 30 minutes, and helps to stimulate collagen and reduce inflammation. As technology has improved, it’s something that really does work for hair growth and skin regeneration,” shares Dr Hall.

Thermage

Thermage is another powerful, non-invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency and acts more superficially to stimulate collagen. “Rather than one treatment, the idea is that you’re stimulating collagen through lots of different means,” notes Dr Hall.

Dr Ghanem agrees: to target skin laxity, treatments like Thermage and Sofwave deliver powerful, focused energy to stimulate collagen and tighten deeper tissues; they’re ideal for patients wanting a firmer, more youthful contour without needles or recovery time.”

Halo BBL Laser

“For patients looking to rejuvenate their skin without injectables or surgery, I recommend three key approaches, each addressing a different layer of the skin for truly comprehensive results,” explains Dr Ali Ghanem. He recommends the Halo BBL (broadband light) to address multiple concerns and target the epidermal layer of the skin. The high-intensity light comes with a multitude of skin benefits, from targeting fine lines and wrinkles to minimising pores and resurfacing skin’s texture.

“For skin resurfacing and clarity, the BBL Halo platform remains the gold standard, combining broadband light and fractional laser to refine texture and restore radiance with minimal downtime,” he says.
