Habits affecting your skincare routine

Habits affecting your skincare routine

Expensive products will not improve your skin when daily habits keep working against them. The way you treat your skin, apply each product and follow your routine often determines the result.

You have probably stood before a mirror and wondered why your skin was not clearing despite the money spent on products. The problem might not be the product. Before buying another serum or cream, check whether these habits are affecting your results.

Picking at your skin

The picking problem

Squeezing a pimple as soon as it appears often worsens the problem. Picking damages the skin, increases inflammation and introduces bacteria.

It also leaves dark marks or scars, especially when you repeatedly touch the same area. Instead of squeezing a spot, use an appropriate acne treatment containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Speak with a dermatologist if the breakouts persist or become painful.

Giving up too quickly

Skincare products rarely produce instant results. Some require several weeks of regular use before visible changes appear. Switching products every few days makes it difficult to know what works for your skin.

Retinoids, vitamin C and niacinamide all need time, although results depend on the product, concentration and skin type. Introduce new products gradually, follow the directions and stop using any product that causes severe irritation, swelling or burning.

Buying counterfeit products

The counterfeit trap

Fake skincare products often resemble the originals. The packaging, labels and seals might look convincing, but their contents are often unsafe.

Counterfeit products sometimes contain unknown ingredients or incorrect concentrations that cause irritation, breakouts, allergic reactions or burns. Buy from the brand’s official website or an authorised retailer.

Check the packaging, batch number and expiry date. An unusually low price is also a warning sign.

Ignoring pillowcases and phones

The pillowcase nobody thinks about

Your pillowcase collects sweat, oil, dead skin cells and product residue, while your phone screen regularly touches your hands and face. Dirty surfaces irritate the skin and worsen existing breakouts. Wash your pillowcase regularly, clean your phone screen carefully and avoid pressing it against your face for long periods. Also remove your makeup and cleanse your face before sleeping.

Following trends instead of your skin
A viral product might work for someone else and still be unsuitable for you. Rich creams often feel too heavy on oily or acne-prone skin, while strong exfoliants irritate dry or sensitive skin. This does not always mean the products are bad.

They might simply be wrong for your skin. Learn what your skin needs before buying a product because hormones, medication, age and weather also affect how it behaves. Consult a dermatologist if you are unsure about your skin type or have persistent concerns.

Build a simple skincare routine
A good skincare routine does not need 10 products. Start with the essentials and introduce new products one at a time. This makes it easier to notice what helps your skin and identify any product that causes irritation.

Cleanser
Use a gentle cleanser to remove sweat, oil, makeup and dirt. Avoid scrubbing harshly or washing your face too often because this weakens the skin barrier and causes dryness or irritation.

Toner
Toner is optional. If you choose to use one, select a hydrating or soothing formula that suits your skin. Avoid harsh products with high alcohol content if they leave your face dry, tight or irritated.

Serum or treatment
Serums usually target concerns such as acne, dehydration, uneven skin tone or fine lines. Avoid combining several active ingredients without understanding how they interact. Using too many treatments at once often irritates the skin instead of improving it.

Moisturiser
Every skin type needs moisture, including oily skin. Choose a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturiser if you have oily or acne-prone skin. A thicker cream usually works better for dry skin.

Sunscreen
Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day. Sun exposure worsens dark marks, damages the skin and speeds up visible signs of ageing. Reapply it as directed, especially when spending long periods outdoors or sweating heavily.

When a product appears ineffective, do not rush to replace it. Check whether you are using it correctly and consistently. Healthy skin rarely comes from one miracle product. It takes a simple routine, sensible choices and patience.

Best Anti-Aging Serums for Firming, Smoothing, and Brightening

Best Anti-Aging Serums for Firming, Smoothing, and Brightening

Why we love it: Experts, and the whole Cosmo team, are obsessed with growth factors. How do they work? Well, they stimulate fibroblasts, which are the cells responsible for producing more collagen. We naturally start losing collagen at about 25, and it’s the key to skin that’s plump and firm. BioEffect has been at the forefront of the growth factor conversation for years, and this day serum makes implementing this powerful ingredient into your routine so easy. Just once a day, massage this lightweight serum into your skin, and over time, it’ll help fight wrinkles, speed up wound healing, and even improve the skin barrier.

One Cosmo editor’s review: “I can’t even express how much I love this serum. I’m 26, so i want to get on my preventative serum game, but retinol and heavy formulas simply irritate my skin. however, this is hydrating and formulated with high-tech growth factors to promote collagen production, so i really get the best of both worlds here.”—JASMINE HYMAN, ASSISTANT BEAUTY EDITOR

More than skin deep, skincare bonds well with this often quoted saying "being in love makes you more beautiful."

How Skincare Improves Your Confidence and Personality

Skincare is more than a surface-level practice; it is a structured discipline that directly influences how individuals feel about themselves and how they present their personality to the world.

Skincare is often perceived as a routine of cleansing, moisturising, and protecting the skin, but its impact extends far beyond physical appearance. It plays a profound role in shaping self-confidence and nurturing personality development. Psychologically it helps enhance the feel-good factor. When individuals invest time and effort into caring for their skin, they are not merely enhancing their looks; they are cultivating self-respect, discipline, and a positive outlook that radiates into every aspect of life.

According to Researcher Maryam Amraei, in her Thesis for Bachelor of Beauty and Cosmetics, Novia (UAS) “The relationship between skincare and self-confidence is relevant, because skincare can increase a person’s sense of self-worth and quality of life. When people feel good in their own skin, they are more likely to show more confidence in their everyday connections.”

So, healthy skin is closely tagged to self-esteem. Clear, glowing skin often reduces feelings of self-consciousness and allows individuals to present themselves with assurance in social and professional settings. People who struggle with skin concerns such as acne, pigmentation, or dryness may experience insecurity, but consistent skincare helps alleviate these issues, leading to visible improvements. This transformation fosters a sense of accomplishment and pride, reinforcing the belief that one has control over their well-being. Confidence born from such progress is not superficial; it is skin deep rooted in the realisation that self-care yields tangible results.

Moreover, skincare routines instil discipline and mindfulness. The act of dedicating time daily to cleanse, hydrate, and protect the skin becomes a ritual of self-love that craves for more Likes! This discipline often extends into other areas of life, encouraging healthier habits such as balanced nutrition, adequate hydration, and stress management. In this way, skincare becomes a gateway to holistic wellness, shaping a personality that values consistency, patience, and responsibility. These traits are admired in both personal and professional spheres, making individuals more reliable and appealing.

Skincare also enhances one’s social presence. With the recent social media boom, looking good with glowing skin is rapidly gaining currency. When people feel good about their appearance, they are more likely to engage confidently in conversations, presentations, and interactions. This confidence translates into stronger communication skills and a more approachable demeanour. A person who radiates self-assurance through healthy skin often leaves a lasting impression, as his personality appears vibrant and well-rounded. In essence, skincare helps bridge the gap between inner self-worth and outward expression, allowing individuals to project authenticity and charisma.

Another important aspect is that skincare nurtures emotional well-being. The Art of applying creams, masks, or serums can be therapeutic, offering moments of relaxation amidst daily stress. This self-care ritual reinforces the importance of wellbeing. A calm and composed mind naturally reflects in personality. Thus, skincare is not just about external beauty but about cultivating inner peace that shines through in interactions with others. A word of caution. Overemphasis on portrayal of “Cosmetic Beauty” can drift and make a person stubborn and create a class-conscious society.

But, from a broader perspective, skincare symbolises respect for oneself. When individuals take pride in their appearance, they signal to the world that they value their identity. This love often inspires others, creating a ripple effect of positivity. A well-groomed personality, supported by healthy skin, conveys professionalism, attentiveness, and confidence.

Traits in Skincare

Cleansing routine: Washing away impurities twice a day is not just about hygiene; it reflects consistency and responsibility.
Personality impact: This habit builds discipline, showing that the individual values order and structure.
Moisturising routine: Hydrating the skin daily is an act of self-care that symbolises love toward oneself.
Personality impact: It fosters emotional well-being, making individuals more empathetic and balanced in their interactions.
Sunscreen application: Protecting the skin from harmful UV rays demonstrates care and responsibility.
Personality impact: This habit reflects long-term planning; a trait admired in leadership and decision-making roles.
Relaxing routines: Taking time for soothing rituals like aromatherapy or gentle massages reduces stress.
Personality impact: This enhances confidence, as a calm mind naturally projects assurance and positivity in social settings.

The Big Picture

When these routines are practiced consistently, they do more than improve skin health. Skincare becomes a bridge between physical well-being and psychological strength, allowing one’s personality to flourish in both private and public spheres. At the end of the day, more than skin deep, skincare bonds well with this often quoted saying “being in love makes you more beautiful” or best described by a Turkish idiom “Aşk insanı güzelleştirir” meaning “love makes a person beautiful”.

Doctor’s Cosmetics [Jullants] Developed by Cosmetic Dermatologist Dr. Etsuko Takasu|CN ひつじのぷー

Summary

For those who feel that their usual skincare routine is no longer enough. Developed by cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Etsuko Takasu, “Jullants” is luxuriously formulated with 3GF ingredients that promote skin regeneration based on medical knowledge. You can achieve authentic anti-aging care that awakens the skin’s inherent power, rather than relying on temporary hydration. With a logical approach that can be safely incorporated even by those with sensitive skin, gain confidence in your future skin. Why not start a satisfying skincare habit here?

Introduction to Jullants Developed by Etsuko Takasu | Authentic Anti-Aging Care from Your 40s

Have you ever been shocked when looking in the mirror to realize that your face lacks the firmness and radiance it once had? After passing your late 30s, you may find yourself experiencing more moments where you realize your skin has reached a turning point, such as feeling that the skincare products you once trusted are suddenly “not enough,” or noticing your skin becoming sensitive during seasonal changes.

I, too, used to be comforted by the glamorous scents of department store cosmetics, but as my skin dryness and signs of aging became more serious, I felt frustrated that superficial hydration could not solve the problem. Amidst this uncertainty, I discovered “Jullants,” developed by cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Etsuko Takasu. Her selection of ingredients based on medical knowledge and the perspective unique to an expert who has faced many skin concerns in clinical practice were exactly the answers my mature skin was looking for.

In this article, I will explain why “doctor’s cosmetics” developed by experts are effective for anti-aging, the mechanism of the 3GF formulation behind them, and the reasons why they can be safely incorporated even by those with sensitive skin, while sharing my own personal experience. Let’s confirm the concrete steps together on how to prepare your future skin by switching to evidence-based skincare.

Even in a busy daily life, taking time to care for your skin is an important process for regaining confidence. For those who want to choose care that they can feel convinced about, I have organized information that will serve as the first step toward authentic anti-aging care.

Why Jullants, Developed by a Cosmetic Dermatologist, Is Chosen for Mature Skin

The Mechanism of 3GF Formulation Based on Medical Knowledge

My skin condition felt somewhat unstable, and I could no longer feel the firmness and radiance I once had. While struggling with these concerns, I arrived at skincare formulated with 3GF, developed based on knowledge cultivated over many years at the Takasu Clinic, a site of cosmetic medicine. The effect expected from doctor’s cosmetics lies in an approach that goes beyond mere hydration to awaken the skin’s inherent power.

3GF refers to three ingredients: EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor), FGF (Fibroblast Growth Factor), and IGF (Insulin-like Growth Factor). These naturally exist in our bodies and play an important role in supporting cell proliferation and regeneration. However, as we age, the secretion of these factors decreases rapidly, which becomes a factor in causing disrupted skin turnover, dryness, and signs of aging such as lack of firmness. 3GF-formulated cosmetics aim to improve the condition of the skin from its foundation by supplementing these factors.

Specifically, it works to promote repair and regeneration at the cellular level for skin whose turnover cycle tends to be disrupted. For example, when I started using 3GF-formulated products, after a few weeks, I noticed that the texture of my skin felt smoother when washing my face, even though I had never felt a change in my skin the next morning no matter how expensive the serum I used before. It felt as if proper nourishment was reaching my neglected skin, drawing out its power to become healthy on its own. I feel that this is a realization that can only be obtained because of a design based on a medical perspective that supports the improvement of skin turnover, unlike care that only forms a film from the outside.

Also, what is considered important in such doctor’s cosmetics is safety for mature, fluctuating skin. If you try to forcibly activate your skin with strong ingredients in a hurry for anti-aging care, it can conversely lead to inflammation and redness. Since 3GF ingredients work on the mechanisms that the skin naturally possesses, there is a sense of security that they will gently accompany you even when your skin is in a delicate state, regardless of your skin type. I myself used to have tingling skin almost every time the seasons changed, but since switching to products with this formulation, I think the time it takes for my skin to regain its calm has shortened.

Care backed by professional knowledge is a wise investment for living with your own skin for a long time, rather than chasing temporary trends. Cosmetics are not pharmaceuticals, but by choosing based on scientific evidence, you can have firm conviction and confidence in your daily skincare. First, try using a trial set and carefully observe the changes in your own skin. The daily accumulation should become the power that supports your own skin years from now.

Choosing 3GF-formulated cosmetics is a rational choice that looks toward the future of your skin, and it is the starting point for a positive daily life where you look forward to looking in the mirror little by little.

Etsuko Takasu’s Commitment to Supporting Anti-Aging Care for Sensitive Skin

When you start to feel changes in your skin, everyone must have had the experience of trying many skincare products and eventually not knowing which one to choose. Especially if you have sensitive skin, you are always anxious about whether you will experience tingling or redness every time you incorporate a new product. Amidst such hesitation, the skincare brand handled by Dr. Etsuko Takasu is one I place my trust in. The conditions for a product that “can be used safely every day,” which she arrived at precisely because she is a doctor who has touched many skins in the field of cosmetic dermatology, were very simple and convincing.

The doctor’s commitment is not just to pack in active ingredients, but to make absolutely no compromises in the quality control of the ingredients. No matter how excellent an ingredient is, it is counterproductive if it becomes an irritant to the skin. When I actually picked up a Jullants product for the first time, I was surprised by the gentleness of its texture. I feel that the sensation of it blending smoothly into the skin is proof of a calculated formulation balance. For those with sensitive skin, the balance between “offense” and “defense” is important in anti-aging care. Because this doctor’s cosmetic is based on the logic of delivering necessary moisture and anti-aging ingredients while maintaining the skin’s inherent barrier function, you can start using it with peace of mind even if your skin is prone to fluctuations.

For example, when I was able to feel that the firmness and radiance of my skin were maintained even if I reduced the steps of layering in the busy morning time, I felt I could understand the essence of this care. Because it is designed based on abundant clinical experience at the Takasu Clinic to minimize irritation to the skin while allowing you to feel certain results, it becomes a very reassuring option for people like me who “have a commitment to ingredients but have sensitive skin and find it difficult to choose.”

Skincare is not a one-time event, but a daily accumulation. That is why I believe that finding products that support your skin condition from a doctor’s perspective is the best investment for your future skin. If you feel you haven’t found the right skincare for you yet, the best shortcut is to start with a trial set and see for yourself how your skin reacts and how it changes by the next morning. Incorporating care based on solid medical evidence should help eliminate the anxiety of being swayed by excessive information and become an important step toward carefully facing your own skin.

Etsuko Takasu Skincare packed with Dr. ‘s expertise goes beyond mere cosmetics; it is like a partner for living a healthy daily life. Even for sensitive skin, by choosing the right ingredients and reliable doctor’s cosmetics, anti-aging care can be transformed into a more free and positive habit. If you haven’t been satisfied with your skincare so far, why not start simply by having a dialogue with your own skin?

How to effectively incorporate Jullants and your first anti-aging care experience

How to maximize the comfort of Jullants and the effects of using the full line

As you age, do you ever feel that the texture of your skin or the severity of your dryness is different from before? I, too, used to be soothed by the gorgeous scents of department store cosmetics, but at one point, I began to suffer from the feeling that no matter what I used, it was “somehow lacking” or that “only the surface felt moisturized.” That was when I encountered Jullants skincare. The comfort of Jullants is a cut above the heavy feeling of so-called high-moisturizing products, and I was surprised by the sense of penetration that smoothly blends into the skin. Even for those who dislike stickiness, the texture is easy to continue using regardless of the season, and it has a sense of reliability that gently conditions adult skin.

In skincare, the actual feeling on the skin differs significantly between using items individually and using the full line. In the case of Jullants, the 3GF contained in all products consistently continues to condition the base of the skin from face wash to cream. For example, by layering a cream with a firm texture directly onto the skin after applying the serum, I was able to strongly feel the sensation of the skin being satisfied. Once your skin’s rhythm is regulated by using the full line, you will notice changes in your skin tone and how your makeup applies when you look in the mirror during your morning face wash. I am convinced that to support the normalization of adult skin turnover, the shortcut is not one-off care, but continuing a consistent approach by using the full line.

I will introduce the specific method I actually incorporate. First, after washing my face, I immediately use plenty of rich lotion, followed by replenishing ingredients with a serum. Finally, I seal it with milky lotion or cream. It is a very basic procedure, but it is important to perform these steps every day without fail. Especially when you are a busy manager or have a responsible job, you tend to lean toward time-saving, but the reason I recommend these doctor’s cosmetics is that they are designed to work on the skin reliably while being simple. If you are anxious about buying everything at once, I think starting with a trial set is the lowest-risk and wisest choice to confirm compatibility with your own skin.

Believing in the future skin changes that continuous care can achieve, why not review your current skincare first? Even for me, who used to feel depressed looking in the mirror every day, by experiencing the comfort of Jullants and performing daily care carefully, I have begun to feel that my skin is responding. Skin changes do not appear overnight, but accumulating products based on medical knowledge is the best investment in yourself. Instead of being bound by the number that is your age, please try to face the importance of care that cherishes your skin at this very moment.

Start with a trial set! How to begin anti-aging care without failure

When you reach your late 30s, a moment arrives when the cosmetics you have loved until now suddenly feel “lacking.” Nasolabial folds that deepen every time you look in the mirror, and dullness that cannot be hidden by evening. When I faced such aging signs, I rushed to jump on expensive serums, but I had the experience of regretting it because my skin became irritated. Because adult skin is prone to sensitivity, I learned that the best shortcut is not to change everything at once, but to carefully try it out starting with a trial set.

The reason the Jullants trial set is recommended is that Dr. Etsuko Takasu, a cosmetic dermatologist, designed it by packing in her own knowledge of sensitive skin care. For a type like me who carries the anxiety of what if I buy the full product and it doesn’t suit my skin, a set where I can experience the full line in a short period was a very reassuring option. Actually, I was anxious at first, but because I could observe skin changes while checking the compatibility of ingredients one by one, I was able to try it with peace of mind without much mental burden.

The most important thing in anti-aging skincare from the late 30s is to draw out the self-repairing power that the skin originally possesses. The products included in the Jullants set contain an ingredient called 3GF that penetrates to the stratum corneum of the skin, supporting plump firmness from the inside. As an episode of actually using it, I noticed that my skin, which used to have foundation flaking off due to dryness, has been moist and calm until night since I started care with Jullants. By continuing to use it, the skin texture is refined, and it feels different in smoothness when touched with fingertips.

When looking at “Jullants reviews” on the internet, you may sometimes see voices of anxiety such as “Isn’t it too stimulating because it’s high-end doctor’s cosmetics?”, but what many users are convinced of is the balance between its gentleness on the skin and its reliable results. What I felt when I actually used it was the lack of irritation and the difference in the brightness of my skin the next morning. If you are currently worried that your aging signs are not improving no matter what you use, please try to confirm the compatibility with your own skin with a small step called a trial.Jullants reviews on the internet

Anti-aging care is not about riding a temporary boom, but steadily accumulating correct habits based on medical knowledge, which is the best investment for your future skin. With a trial set, you can objectively judge the ingredients and textures your skin needs right now within a reasonable range. First, for a few days, try to experience how the ingredients developed by experts with great care will accompany your skin. That will be a sure step toward maintaining beauty with conviction.

Summary

Have confidence in your future skin with convincing care

I have tried many cosmetics so far and have taken detours without getting the results I wanted, but since I started focusing on choosing ingredients based on medical knowledge, I have become able to accept skin changes calmly. Products like Jullants, where you can see the face of the developer, have a sense of conviction in their background above all else, so there is no hesitation in daily care.

What is important in anti-aging care is to continue building a foundation that draws out the skin’s inherent power rather than seeking temporary improvement. The time spent carefully facing your own skin and choosing what suits your current condition also becomes an important moment to treat yourself.

When incorporating new skincare, it is natural to feel anxious about whether it will suit your skin. That is why I recommend first checking the compatibility with your own skin with a trial set. As a first step to starting full-scale anti-aging care, please try experiencing its comfort on your own skin first.

The primary pollutants of the haze, the PM2.5 and PM10 particles, are fine enough to skip past the skin’s surface, lodge into pores and, on compromised skin, worm deeper still.

Skincare tips for unhealthy air quality and haze season in Singapore

SINGAPORE – ‘Tis the season for watery eyes, a ticklish throat and weather-enabled introversion, thanks to the persistent haze. Smoke from forest fires in Indonesia has been blowing into Singapore for much of September, tipping air quality into the unhealthy range on some days – a first since October 2023.

You already know about the respiratory risks, but the skin is a lesser-known casualty of polluted air. In fact, the body’s largest organ and outermost barrier is the first and most directly exposed target, says Pamela Chong, an aesthetic physician at skincare clinic Epion Clinic.

PM2.5 and PM10 particles in the haze are small enough to penetrate the skin’s surface, lodge in pores, and, when the skin is compromised, travel even deeper. They can trigger an “inflammatory cascade” in the skin, warns Chong.

Ozone, another pollutant, reacts with squalene, an oil produced by the skin, to create irritating by-products linked to clogged pores, acne flare-ups and premature skin ageing.

Haze particles also carry polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which can set off a receptor in skin cells that increases pigment cell activity and activates an enzyme that breaks down collagen – in effect, ageing the skin chemically in the same way cigarette smoke does, Chong says.

With wildfires potentially continuing into early November, your skincare routine could benefit from some tweaking.

What are the most common effects of haze on skin?

Dryness and irritation in the form of itchiness, redness or increased sensitivity are the most common complaints, according to experts The Straits Times spoke to.

Pollutants disrupt the skin’s water barrier function, allowing moisture to escape. Dryness, itching and flaking can also affect the scalp, which receives the same exposure as the face.

Breakouts or clogged pores may become more noticeable, though the relationship between pollution and acne is less clear than some other inflammatory skin conditions, says dermatologist Coni Liu of skincare clinic DermAlly.

Nonetheless, particulate matter in the air increases sebum production and inflammatory biomarkers, which can cause acne flares and amplify inflammation driven by the bacterium Cutibacterium acnes.

Prolonged exposure can lead to pigmentation and accelerate visible ageing, with higher PM10 levels linked to more pigment spots and deeper nasolabial folds.

What skin types are more vulnerable?

People with sensitive, dry or easily irritated skin, or an already compromised skin barrier, are more likely to notice symptoms, as their skin is less resilient to environmental irritants, Liu says.

People with eczema or rosacea may experience worsening dryness, itchiness, redness or irritation during prolonged periods of exposure to poor air quality. Those with eczema have a disrupted skin barrier, so environmental pollutants and irritants can aggravate skin inflammation.

Chong says: “With a compromised barrier, moisture escapes and irritants enter more easily. Pollution further disturbs barrier proteins and stimulates inflammation. This can begin an itch-scratch cycle, with scratching causing even more barrier damage.”

She recommends that people with eczema moisturise regularly and keep prescribed flare treatments on hand, as pollution-triggered flares can escalate faster than typical ones. A flare that does not respond to standard treatment within a few days should be followed up with a doctor’s visit, Chong adds.

Dos and don’ts of haze season skincare

When adjusting one’s skincare routine, the priority is to protect and support the skin barrier, says Liu. A simple, gentle cleanser, followed by a moisturiser with barrier-protective ingredients and sunscreen, will suffice, she adds.

Go for products containing antioxidants such as vitamins E and C, as well as niacinamide, says Liu. She explains: “Ozone measurably depletes vitamin E from the skin surface, so replenishing it makes biochemical sense. Vitamin C is also the best-evidenced option for preventing inflammation and reducing pigmentation. Niacinamide supports cellular energy production and has been shown to reduce oxidative stress, inflammation and pigmentation.”

Look for moisturisers with barrier-supporting ingredients such as ceramides, glycerin or hyaluronic acid. Ceramides, frequently used in medicine for atopic dermatitis or dry skin, are one’s best bet.

A simple, gentle cleanser, followed by a moisturiser with barrier-protective ingredients and sunscreen, will suffice.

PHOTO: PEXELS

Hazy skies should not be mistaken for sun protection, Liu adds. Sunscreens with UVA and UVB protection are recommended, as ultraviolet rays and pollution can compound their effects on the skin.

The carcinogenic action of benzopyrene, a PAH abundant in wood smoke, is also worsened by UVA, says Chong.

She recommends avoiding harsh, stripping foam cleansers that wash away the skin’s natural barrier lipids. One should also hold off on aggressive exfoliation, chemical peels and trying strong active ingredients for the first time during this period.

If your skin is irritated or sensitive, Chong recommends suspending the use of strong acids, retinoids and benzoyl peroxide in topical acne treatments until the smoke clears.

But the most effective intervention during the haze period is not a special anti-pollution product or skincare routine – it is to reduce exposure.

A flare that does not respond to standard treatment within a few days should be followed up with a doctor’s visit, says Pamela Chong, an aesthetic physician at skincare clinic Epion Clinic.

PHOTO: EPION CLINIC

To help the skin, both doctors advise reducing outdoor exercise, keeping windows and doors closed, and using air-conditioning or air filtration to improve indoor air quality. Since air-conditioning can be drying, Chong suggests using a humidifier at home to increase moisture levels.

She says to shower and cleanse the skin thoroughly at night, especially after heavy outdoor exposure, as sweat and sebum can trap particles on the skin. Pollutants that cling to hair and clothing can also transfer directly onto pillowcases.

But avoid very hot showers, which can worsen dryness and irritation, warns Liu. Hydrating the body is good for health, but it will not flush pollution out of the skin, she cautions.

Skip heavy, long-wear make-up on the worst air quality days. Heavy powder and long-wear foundation can mix with sebum and trap particles against skin when worn, Chong says.

Post-haze aftercare

Breakouts or clogged pores may be more noticeable, though the relationship between pollution and acne is less clear than some other inflammatory skin conditions, says dermatologist Coni Liu of skincare clinic DermAlly.

PHOTO: DERMALLY

Once the skies clear, if your skin feels normal, go back to your usual skincare routine, Liu advises.

If it still feels dry and irritated, stick with a gentle cleanser and a repairing moisturiser, and continue using sunscreen. Avoid aggressive “detox” treatments such as harsh scrubs or exfoliation, as over-treating the skin may cause more barrier disruption and irritation. The goal is to return to your normal routine gradually, according to tolerance.

For most people, temporary irritation should settle as exposure decreases.

With all else constant, the skin barrier should return to normal within two to four weeks after the haze lifts, says Chong.

If you have a rash or acne that persists after air quality improves, there may be another trigger or an underlying skin condition that needs addressing, such as eczema or acne, she notes.

5. Dr Melaxin Cemenrete Calcium Volume Multi Balm 9g (from $39 for 9g)

Great for a quick fix, this all-in-one balm tube by K-beauty brand Dr Melaxin can be applied to any dry and droopy spot on the face – including the under eyes, nasolabial folds and forehead – to hydrate and plump up the skin.

It is especially good for improving the look of under-eye hollows.

The star ingredient is Ribornic, a patented compound created by the brand that combines ionised calcium with vitamin D to increase absorption of calcium into the skin, which then helps hold collagen and elastin in place under the eyes, the brand says.

The balm also contains adenosine, which induces collagen and elastin production to counter sagging; collagen, which helps to maintain skin thickness and elasticity; and elastin, to restore stretched skin.

GLOWBAR AND REMEDY PARTNER TO CONNECT THE PROFESSIONAL FACIAL WITH THE AT-HOME SKINCARE ROUTINE

GLOWBAR AND REMEDY PARTNER TO CONNECT THE PROFESSIONAL FACIAL WITH THE AT-HOME SKINCARE ROUTINE

Glowbar and Dr. Muneeb Shah’s dermatologist-created skincare brand come together to pair personalized professional facials with advanced skincare, including REMEDY’s new 15% Azelaic Acid Advanced Clarifying Serum.

NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Glowbar and REMEDY announce a new partnership designed to create a more connected skincare experience, bringing together the expertise of the professional facial with the dermatologist-created products consumers use at home.

GLOWBAR AND REMEDY PARTNER TO CONNECT THE PROFESSIONAL FACIAL WITH THE AT-HOME SKINCARE ROUTINE

From September 22 through October 22, the two brands will partner on a limited-time experience incorporating two REMEDY formulas into every customized Glowbar facial: the NEW 15% Azelaic Acid Advanced Clarifying Serum and REMEDY’s bestselling Dark Circle Reducing Advanced Eye Cream.

The partnership brings together two complementary approaches to making expert skincare more accessible. Glowbar has built its business around personalized, professional facials delivered in 30 minutes, while REMEDY was founded by double board-certified dermatologist Dr. Muneeb Shah to translate dermatological expertise into advanced, approachable skincare for everyday routines.

Together, Glowbar and REMEDY are connecting two parts of the skincare experience that are often treated separately: what happens in the treatment room and what happens after you leave it.

FROM THE DERMATOLOGIST’S OFFICE TO THE TREATMENT ROOM
A facial doesn’t end when a client leaves the treatment room. Skin has been professionally assessed and treated, making the products that follow an important part of the overall experience.

That shared insight became the starting point for the Glowbar x REMEDY partnership. Dr. Shah worked closely with Glowbar’s CEO and Founder Rachel Liverman to identify two REMEDY formulas to complement the final stage of its professional treatments, with a focus on delivering targeted results while respecting freshly treated skin.

At the center of the partnership is REMEDY’s new 15% Azelaic Acid Advanced Clarifying Serum, a formulation breakthrough that reimagines how high-strength azelaic acid can be delivered. The serum features a fully solubilized 15% azelaic acid complex in an elegant, water-light format, overcoming the grittiness, heaviness, and formulation limitations that have historically made high-concentration azelaic acid difficult to work with. Developed without propylene glycol or alcohol, the formula delivers a dermatologist-trusted ingredient at a meaningful concentration without compromising on texture, layering, or tolerability. Backed by robust in vivo and ex vivo clinical studies, the serum is designed to visibly reduce redness, fade the appearance of dark spots and improve overall skin clarity, making it particularly suited to the post-facial moment.

Story Continues

Professional treatments and at-home skincare should work together, not exist in separate worlds,” said Dr. Muneeb Shah, double board-certified dermatologist and Founder of REMEDY. “Glowbar has made professional skincare more accessible and easier to incorporate into a regular routine, which made this partnership a natural fit. Education is central to REMEDY, and this experience gives clients the opportunity to learn about the formula from a trusted esthetician, experience it during their treatment, and then understand how to incorporate it into their routine at home.”

Throughout the experience, Glowbar’s expert estheticians will bring the partnership to life through the brand’s signature customized facial experience, incorporating the REMEDY formulas based on each client’s skin and treatment while providing education around the ingredients, their benefits and why they have been selected for that point in the facial.

“We took the facial out of the derm office, and now we’re putting the derm back in the facial,” said Rachel Liverman, Founder & CEO of Glowbar. “At Glowbar, professional skincare created by experts isn’t just important to us, it’s everything. We’re driven by making professional skincare more accessible, and a partnership with Dr. Shah and REMEDY was a natural fit. I’ve been working closely with Dr. Shah to select the products that will best support Glowbar clients after their facials, so they can get even more out of their results, and I’m so excited for everyone to try it.”

What should you choose? "Moisturizing habits" you can start today and how to choose cosmetics|お金の翻訳家|マネりん|Money Translator

What should you choose? “Moisturizing habits” you can start today and how to choose cosmetics|お金の翻訳家|マネりん|Money Translator

💡 Introduction

“I’ve been concerned about dry skin lately.”

“I feel like I’ve lost some firmness compared to before.”

“My pores have started to become more noticeable.”

As we age, we may start to notice skin changes that didn’t bother us before.

So, while you might look for new cosmetics,

“In the end, what should I choose?”

is a question that often arises.

The more you look at social media and reviews, the more products you find.

However, skincare isn’t always solved by just adding more products.

What’s important is to

organize your current concerns and find a care routine you can continue without stress.

In this article, we will summarize the basics of skincare you can start today without buying special products, as well as how to think about choosing cosmetics.

In the second half, we will also introduce “ORBIS U” as one of the options.

*This article may contain affiliate advertisements.

🎯 Conclusion

Before you start looking for products,

organize “what you are concerned about.”

And then,

  • Don’t over-wash

  • Make moisturizing a habit

  • Protect against UV rays

  • Keep a record of your skin condition

  • Find a method you can continue without stress

Let’s start by reviewing these points.

Even so,

‘I don’t want to spend time choosing products’

‘It’s a hassle to look for things from scratch’

If you feel this way, choosing a skincare series is also an option.

😩 First, do you have concerns like these?

Once you reach your 40s, you start to have more concerns about your skin.

For example,

  • Your skin feels tight after washing

  • Your skin tends to get dry easily

  • You are concerned about firmness

  • Your pores have become more noticeable

  • You feel like the cosmetics you used before no longer suit you

  • You don’t know what you should use

  • You can’t finish using the cosmetics you buy

A particularly common one is,

‘In the end, what should I choose?’

the dilemma of not knowing.

However, there is no need to start looking for products right away.

First, let’s start by organizing your skin concerns.

🔍 Why is it confusing to choose skincare?

One reason is that,

‘skin concerns’ and ‘product selection’ are lumped together from the start.

‘I’m worried about dryness’
↓
‘I’ll look for moisturizing cosmetics’

is what tends to happen.

But in reality,

and other daily habits can also be checked.

That is why,

before looking for products, review your daily care.

This is the first step.

🆓 Skincare habits you can start today

🚿 First, rethink “over-washing”

When you are concerned about your skin, you might feel like washing it thoroughly.

However, you should avoid washing methods that lead to friction on the skin, such as scrubbing hard.

First,

let’s check your daily washing habits, such as these.

You can start by reviewing your daily habits before adding expensive products.

💧 Make moisturizing after washing a habit

Next, you want to check your moisturizing routine.

After washing your face, make it a habit to use your regular moisturizing items so that you don’t leave your skin bare for too long.

What is important here is:

“continuing every day” rather than “trying hard occasionally.”

It becomes easier to continue if you decide on a timing that fits your daily rhythm, such as morning and night.

If you feel any irritation while using a product, be sure not to force yourself to continue using it.

☀️ Don’t forget UV protection during the day

When people think of skincare, they tend to focus on lotions and emulsions.

However, UV protection during the day is also important.

On days when you go out,

and other methods that are easy for you to continue.

📝 Try recording your skin condition once

“My skin doesn’t feel quite right”

alone doesn’t tell you what you should change.

So, first try keeping a simple record for just one week.

For example,

  • dryness

  • tightness

  • stickiness

  • pores

  • skin irritation

and so on.

There is no need to record in detail every day.

“I was concerned about dryness today”

is enough.

If you continue for a week, you will see when you are concerned about your skin condition.

🧴 Don’t use too many products

When you start worrying about your skin,

“Maybe I need this too”

“This one looks good too”

you start wanting to add more products.

However, if you change too many things at once, it becomes difficult to tell what is actually working for you.

If you are going to introduce something new, do it little by little while considering its necessity.

“Is this really necessary for me right now?”

Try to think about that before you make your choice.

⚠️ Common mistakes beginners make

1. Deciding based solely on social media reviews

The person who wrote the review may not have the same skin type or lifestyle as you.

→ Check the official product information and usage instructions as well.

2. Changing many products at once

You won’t be able to tell what is actually working for you.

→ Review your routine little by little, starting with what is necessary.

3. Drawing conclusions in a short period

Skin condition changes daily.

→ While checking the usage instructions, try keeping a record of your own condition.

4. Continuing to use products that don’t suit your skin

There is no need to force yourself to use up products just because you bought them.

→ If you feel any irritation, stop using the product and consult a professional if necessary.

🔄 Tips for making it easier to continue

Skincare becomes easier to maintain when you incorporate it into your daily life.

For example,

After washing your face in the morning → Moisturize

After washing your face at night → Moisturize

Pair it with your actions like this.

It is okay if there are days you cannot do it.

Just get back to it the next day, and you will be fine.

Rather than aiming for perfection,

“being able to continue without strain”

should be your priority.

✅ Essential Checklist

□ Organize your biggest current skin concern □ Check if you are rubbing too hard while washing your face □ Make moisturizing after washing your face a habit □ Check your daytime UV protection □ Record your skin condition for one week □ Do not increase the number of products all at once □ Check the usage instructions □ Do not force yourself to use products that do not suit your skin

📅 Action Plan Starting Today

📅 Today

Write down your number one skin concern.

➡️ Tomorrow to 1 week later

Be mindful of washing, moisturizing, and UV protection.

🔍 After 1 week

Review your skin condition and lifestyle habits.

🔄 After 1 month

Keep only the necessary care.

✨ This is enough for now

You can start the methods mentioned so far without purchasing special cosmetics.

First,

Organize your skin concerns
→ Review how you wash your face
→ Moisturize
→ Protect against UV rays
→ Record your skin condition

Please start from here.

It does not mean that “you cannot do anything unless you buy cosmetics.”

First, continue doing what you can do yourself.

Even just that can be a trigger to rethink your skincare.

🚀 For those who want to make it easier

Once you practice this far,

“I understand what I need to review”

is the state you will be in.

On the other hand,

“It is troublesome to look for products one by one”

“I don’t have time to compare various products”

some people may feel this way.

In such cases, one way to choose products is to use a skincare series as your standard.

One such option is

ORBIS U.

🛍️ The option of ORBIS U

The official ORBIS website presents “ORBIS U” as a quasi-drug skincare series.

According to official information, it is introduced as a series that focuses on concerns such as dryness, loss of firmness, pores, and dullness caused by dryness.

Additionally, a 3-step care routine combining a facial cleanser, lotion, and moisturizer is recommended.

In other words,

“Searching for skincare from scratch”

is not the only way; instead,

you can consider choosing by checking product information for the series all at once

.

However, compatibility with your skin varies from person to person.

Please judge whether a product is right for you after checking the official product information and ingredient lists.

⚖️ Differences from free methods

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

💰 Cost

🆓 Self-care

You can utilize items you already have.

🛍️ ORBIS U

There is a cost for purchasing products.

💡 Differences

Whether to keep costs down or reduce the effort of choosing products.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

📝 Effort

🆓 Self-care

Make your own decisions starting from product selection.

🛍️ ORBIS U

You can check product information for the series all at once.

💡 Differences

Whether to search for them one by one or think based on a series.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🔍 Flexibility

🆓 Self-care

You can freely combine your favorite products.

🛍️ ORBIS U

You can make selections based on the series.

💡 Differences

Whether to choose freely or think based on a series.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🎯 Which one should you choose?

🆓 People who are likely to prefer the free method

・You want to keep costs down
・Your current cosmetics are sufficient
・You have time to compare products yourself

🛍️ People who might consider Orbis U

・You want to reduce the hassle of choosing products
・You want to check the entire series
・You are concerned about dryness or lack of firmness

📌 The important thing is not which one is superior, but what you want to prioritize.

👍 Points to consider when looking at Orbis U

Orbis U provides information on series products such as facial cleansers, lotions, and moisturizers on its official website.

Therefore,

“It is a hassle to search for what to use from scratch”

people who feel this way can check the entire series before making a decision.

Also, you can check product features, usage instructions, and ingredients on the official website.

Before purchasing, make sure to check if the product is necessary for your skin concerns.

👀 Disadvantages and points to note

Of course, purchasing a product does not guarantee that your concerns will be resolved.

Things to keep in mind are:

  • It costs money to purchase products

  • Compatibility with your skin varies by individual

  • Your current products might be sufficient

  • You need to choose only the products you actually need

  • Prices and campaigns are subject to change

is the point.

Instead of choosing because it’s “popular”,

consider whether it is necessary for you

as your criteria.

🙆 People who might find this worth considering

・People who want to organize their skincare by series
・People who don’t want to spend time choosing products
・People concerned about dryness or loss of firmness
・People who want to choose while checking official information

🙅 People who might not need this

・People who are satisfied with their current skincare
・People who want to choose for themselves without spending money
・People who want to freely compare products from various manufacturers
・People who have no particular issues with their current care

There is no need to force yourself to add products.

⚠️ Things to check before purchasing

Before purchasing, let’s check the following points.

  • Product name

  • Content volume

  • Price

  • How to use

  • Ingredients

  • Whether it is necessary for your skin concerns

  • Return and exchange conditions

  • Campaign application conditions

Prices, campaigns, and sales conditions are subject to change.

Please check the official website for the latest information.

🔗 Official Website

You can check the latest product information, prices, and usage instructions for Orbis U on the official Orbis website.

👉 Orbis Official “Orbis U”

*Please check the official website for the latest information on prices, campaigns, and sales conditions.

👉 CTA

First, try the methods in this article starting today.

If you actually continue with them and feel,

“I want to reduce the time I spend choosing products,”

then please consider Orbis U as an option.

After checking the prices, product details, and usage instructions, decide if it is right for you.

👉 Check the details of Orbis U on the official website

📝 Summary

The first thing to review in your skincare routine is your daily habits, rather than the products themselves.

1. Organize your skin concerns.

2. Continue with face washing, moisturizing, and UV protection.

3. Judge products based on whether you need them.

Start with what you can do for free.

After that, if you feel like reducing the hassle of choosing products, please consider options that suit you.

EVERQ launches skincare microdrama

EVERQ, the personalized skin health platform from Puresta, has launched “So Dermatic!”, an original 12-episode microdrama IP that brings everyday skincare chaos into the world of entertainment.

The move marks EVERQ’s foray into entertainment-led brand storytelling, using a format increasingly becoming part of how audiences consume short-form fiction. Rather than building a conventional skincare campaign around products, routines or idealized beauty, EVERQ has created a fictional world where the everyday drama surrounding skin becomes the story.

Set inside an EVERQ dermatology clinic, “So Dermatic!” takes familiar Indian skincare behaviors, beliefs and anxieties and turns them into short, humorous slice-of-life episodes through character led storytelling. From home remedies and social-media hacks to late-night Google searches, AI-generated advice, filters and the belief that drinking more water can solve every skin problem, the series draws from situations audiences are likely to recognize.

At the heart of the IP is a recurring cast comprising a dermatologist, a receptionist, a Gen Z intern and a cleaning lady. The characters create a consistent clinic universe where patients, internet wisdom, family advice and everyday skincare confusion come together.

The series opens with “Don’t Put Skin in the Game”, where glowing skin unexpectedly becomes a workplace problem.

The 11 episodes that follow include “Mummy Alert”, “Tunak Tunak Treatment”, “Mehnat ka Pimple”, “The AI-dentity Crisis”, “Farm to Face”, “Sensitive Subject”, “The B&W Beauty Hack”, “Jal Lijiye”, “Clean Breakup”, “Who Took the Credit… Who, Who, Who?” and “Acne Ki Supari”, with each story exploring a different skincare behavior, concern or misconception presented in a light, funny mobile first series.

Hitaysh Dhingraa, Co-Founder and CEO, Puresta, said, “Skincare has moved beyond the traditional beauty aisle. People discover, discuss and debate it through reels, creators, search, AI, family advice and entertainment. We wanted EVERQ to participate in that behavior rather than simply advertise into it.”

“With ‘So Dermatic!’, we are creating entertainment around the conversations people are already having about their skin. The idea is to make dermatologist-led skincare more relatable and culturally relevant, while building a brand property that can grow over time,” Dhingraa added.

The creative approach moves away from the conventional language of skincare advertising, where products, routines and perfect-skin imagery typically dominate. Instead, “So Dermatic!” draws from everyday situations including workplace conversations, family dynamics, dating, social media behavior, internet culture and Indian jugaad.

The microdrama format also allows EVERQ to build an ongoing entertainment IP rather than a one-off campaign. The recurring clinic setting and characters create a flexible storytelling universe through which the brand can continue to explore emerging skincare behaviors, cultural trends and consumer conversations.

With “So Dermatic!”, EVERQ is expanding its communication beyond conventional product-led advertising to create an entertainment property around the way people live, talk and think about skincare.

The series is now live on EVERQ official Instagram. Watch and join the conversation.
