FOSTER CITY, Calif., May 15, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Efpy Brings Micro-Dose Wellness Rituals to IPSY Wellness

Consumers don’t necessarily want more wellness routines. They want support that fits naturally into real life.

The functional beauty brand expands its presence as beauty and wellness increasingly converge around everyday rituals and emotional wellbeing.

Efpy, the functional beauty brand pioneering “micro-dose wellness” through daily beauty rituals, is now live on IPSY Wellness.

Founded by former Unilever and Google executive Smriti (Sim) Khullar, Efpy was built around a simple behavioral insight: wellness products often fail not because ingredients don’t work, but because habits don’t stick.

Rather than asking consumers to adopt complex new routines, Efpy integrates wellness support into a ritual people already naturally repeat throughout the day ? applying lip balm.

Each Efpy balm combines nourishing lip care with micro-dosed functional ingredients such as L-theanine, B vitamins, green coffee, and botanical extracts, alongside sensory essential oil blends designed to support moments of calm, focus, and everyday wellbeing.

The launch on IPSY Wellness reflects growing consumer demand for products that support emotional wellbeing through seamless, everyday experiences rather than complicated multi-step routines.

“Consumers don’t necessarily want more wellness routines,” said Smriti Khullar, founder of Efpy. “They want support that fits naturally into real life. We created Efpy around the idea that small repeated rituals can become powerful moments of reset throughout the day.”

Efpy’s approach combines functional beauty, behavior-driven product design, and sensory rituals into what the brand calls “micro-dose wellness” ? an emerging category centered around wellness support embedded into everyday rituals.

The IPSY Wellness launch marks another milestone in Efpy’s early growth as the brand continues expanding awareness around functional beauty and ritual-based wellness.

Rituals of rest and reset: Beauty appointments are now modern self-care escapes

Rituals of rest and reset: Beauty appointments are now modern self-care escapes

There was a time when beauty appointments were largely transactional.

A haircut was about maintenance, a manicure was for polished nails before an event, and facials promised fewer blemishes and brighter skin.

Today’s beauty spaces are evolving into something more restorative – across shopping malls, salons and wellness spaces, treatments are being designed not just to enhance appearances, but to quiet overthinking minds and overworked bodies.

From scalp massages in salons to hydrating facials within skincare brand stores, clients are seeking experiences that allow them to slow down and disconnect.

This reflects a broader cultural change in how people perceive self-care, with wellness no longer confined to spa retreats.

Instead, it has filtered into everyday routines, including the beauty appointments once viewed as occasional indulgences.

Nicole Lee, PR communications manager of Initia Group, which oversees Korean-inspired head spa and salon brand Goyo, says the motivations behind beauty appointments have noticeably changed.

“Clients still want visible outcomes, but increasingly, they are coming in because they are mentally and emotionally fatigued,” she says.

“What’s interesting is that we’re now seeing a much younger demographic coming in – not just for maintenance, but for pampering and intentional self-care.”

Similarly, Posh Nail Spa founder Sereen Eng says clients today are searching for more than aesthetic results.

“Many of our clients come in carrying the weight of busy schedules and constant stimulation, so they’re intentionally seeking moments where they can slow down and reset,” she says.

The result is an industry increasingly centred around ritual rather than routine, where the idea of beauty is taking on a deeper meaning.

A beauty reset

These days, clients approach nail appointments from a more wellness-oriented perspective. Photo: Posh Nail SpaLee says clients are gravitating towards immersive experiences that combine relaxation with visible results.

“It’s not just one service that reflects this shift – it’s really the complete journey from head to toe,” says Lee.

“The combination of aromatherapy, therapeutic massage and scalp care creates an immediate sense of calm,” says Lee.

Clients often pair a treatment with Korean facials and traditional Korean body scrubs, creating what she describes as a “holistic, sensory ritual”.

“What makes this different from a traditional hair or massage service is that it is not transactional or isolated,” she says.

“Clients are no longer just looking for maintenance – they are seeking a complete head-to-toe reset that allows them to disconnect, recharge and reconnect with themselves.”

Even the environment plays a role in shaping the experience, says Lee, noting that their location overlooking a golf course naturally feels like a resort-style setting.

That desire for escape is also influencing how beauty treatments are shared.

According to Lee, many sessions are now purchased as gifts for spouses or parents, while couple treatments are becoming increasingly popular.

“It’s become less about individual treatments and more about creating moments of connection and pause together,” she says.

More than just a manicure

While manicures and pedicures were once associated primarily with aesthetics or trend-driven nail art, Eng says clients are now approaching nail appointments from a more wellness-oriented perspective.

“Our spa manicure and pedicure services are a clear reflection of this shift,” she says. “Clients are not only looking to relax, but also to achieve healthier, more sustainable nail results.”

At her nail spas, the emphasis has expanded beyond appearance to include long-term nail health and intentional care.

Treatments are designed to feel slower and more restorative, incorporating massages, scrubs and a calmer pace.

At the same time, awareness around the effects of prolonged gel use and poorly executed treatments is gaining traction.

“As gel services have become widely available over the years, we’re now seeing the effects of long-term wear,” Eng says.

“Clients are becoming more aware and are seeking services that help maintain and protect their natural nails, rather than compromise them. For example, we focus on nail rehabs and treatments for natural nails; proper nail apex building and structure when working with gel,” she adds.

The idea of self-care, she says, lies in balancing immediate beauty results with long-term wellbeing.

“So it’s no longer just about how the nails look immediately after the service, but how well they are cared for over time,” says Eng.

Created for emotional wellbeing

Perhaps the clearest sign of the industry’s evolution lies in how clients behave during and after treatments.

Lee says the emotional transformation is often noticeable.

“Some clients arrive a little anxious or mentally preoccupied,” she says. “But after the session, they are almost like a different person – more relaxed, calmer, and noticeably lighter in their energy.”

Many linger after treatments, sipping herbal teas and enjoying the stillness before returning to their routines.

“That’s often when they start sharing more – about their stress, their routines, or simply how much they needed this time to reset,” Lee says.

Eng has observed similar changes among her clients.

“During treatments, especially during the scrub and massage session, clients naturally begin to unwind,” she says.

“You can see the shift in their body language – they become softened up, some begin to be more open and conversational.”

For businesses such as these, which extend to skincare and makeup brands, the goal extends beyond delivering a technically good service as emotional care and atmosphere have become equally important.

“Our goal is simple: we want every client to walk out feeling better than when they came in,” says Eng.

A wellness future

As the lines between beauty and self-care continue to blur, salon owners are adapting accordingly.

Lee believes beauty spaces will become more wellness-led environments, offering immersive experiences.

“Clients today are not just looking to look good – they want to feel better, reset their energy and take care of their mental and physical wellbeing,” says Lee.

Meanwhile, Eng says the modern salon experience is becoming more holistic and lifestyle-oriented.

“Clients today are more conscious of burnout, stress and the need for intentional pauses in their routine,” she says.

“As a result, they value rituals over quick services.”

To reflect this, her business is refining its treatment flow, training staff to be more emotionally attentive and even collaborating with wellness and lifestyle partners.

“Clients today are not only investing in how they look, but also in how they feel and how they live overall,” Eng says.

Ultimately, beauty’s new direction is rooted in restoration, with salons and treatment spaces becoming places to go where people feel recharged and refreshed.

Nearly half of Americans would rather go into debt than give up their beauty routines

Nearly half of Americans would rather go into debt than give up their beauty routines

Your briefing on the latest headlines from across the US

Losing a job wouldn’t stop almost half of American adults from trying to look and feel good.

Some 46 percent of consumers age 18 and older said they would go into debt to maintain their beauty and wellness routines if they lost their job, according to a March survey by beauty and wellness AI software platform Zenoti.

Respondents are ready to make other sacrifices for self-care, too, including a curtailed social life, delayed vacations, reduced funds for savings and debt repayment.

The survey’s analysis of spending trends found that people would most likely go into debt using credit cards to keep up appearances after a job loss.

Consumer habits indicate that being made unemployed might spur even more beauty spending, the study found. Some 33 percent of respondents said they increased their self-care routines because of workplace stress or burnout.

Loneliness, financial stress and major life transitions – all situations a job loss could create – are among the top reasons why people increase their beauty and wellness spending. But there was one concession: 45 percent of respondents said they would reduce the frequency of beauty appointments.

The study brings into focus the trade-offs that Americans are making as they negotiate rising costs. While many draw the line at self-care, there are other costs they’re willing to sacrifice to steady their finances.

Entertainment is on the consumer chopping block. Around 40 percent of Americans have dropped at least one streaming service over the past three months, according to a study from Deloitte. The average household spends an average of $69 a month on these services, Deloitte noted.

Another popular target for spending cuts in the past year is eating out. Some 61 percent of U.S. adults, over age 21, have lowered spending at restaurants, according to a May 2025 study from retail news and analysis firm Chain Store Age. And consumers are making sacrifices in their closets: Just over half (52 percent) say they’ve cut back on clothes and shoe spending.

The cost-cutting reflects a nationwide concern about household finances amid high gas prices and rising inflation.

Consumers are more pessimistic about their financial future today than they were during the Great Recession. Some 55 percent of consumers said their financial situation is getting worse, according to a Gallup poll published Tuesday, compared to 49 per cent in 2008.

ASICS launches beauty campaign focused on post-exercise glow

THE WHAT? ASICS has launched a new global campaign called “Get The Glow,” promoting movement as a natural way to support wellbeing and achieve a post-exercise glow.

THE DETAILS The campaign features unfiltered post-workout images of individuals and ASICS athletes captured after activities such as running, walking and tennis. The company cited research showing that just 15 minutes of movement can positively impact mental wellbeing. The campaign launches amid growing consumer interest in “glow” beauty trends, with ASICS noting increases in online searches and social media conversations around glowing skin. Tennis player Zeynep Sönmez is among the athletes supporting the initiative, which positions movement as an accessible alternative to complex beauty routines.

THE WHY? The campaign reflects the growing overlap between beauty, wellness and mental health, while reinforcing ASICS’ long-standing brand message around the connection between physical activity and emotional wellbeing.

Healthy beauty και minimal skincare backstage

Princeton Medspa Partners ("PMP") Expands Its Portfolio with Acquisition of Allura Skin, Laser & Wellness Clinics

Beauty’s Next Wave Sees Consumers Adding Aesthetic Procedures and Longevity Treatments to Regular Routines

Subject: SVY

  • Report from BCG and WWD Highlights “Optimizer” Consumers Reshaping the Beauty Market
  • 80% Say Beauty Is About How They Feel Physically and Mentally, Not Just Appearance
  • 75% Use AI to Research Beauty, with 1 in 4 Relying on It as Their Primary Source

BOSTON, May 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Beauty is expanding beyond traditional categories as consumers increasingly layer aesthetic procedures and performance and longevity treatments on top of their foundational routines. At the center of this shift is the beauty “optimizer,” a consumer turning to a wider range of solutions to meet their needs. About 70% are open to non-traditional beauty solutions, and roughly 80% say beauty is about mental and physical wellbeing, not just appearance.

The “optimizer”?now representing 6% of US adults, or approximately 15 million people?spent $3,000 on average in the past year across traditional beauty, aesthetic procedures, and performance and longevity categories. If this segment were to double, it could unlock more than $30 billion across the broader beauty market.

These are among the findings of a new report from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), titled Consumers Are Shaping a New Age of Optimization in Beauty, based on an April survey of 5,000 US beauty consumers.

“Skin care, makeup, and hair care still anchor beauty routines, but consumers are increasingly layering aesthetic procedures, wellness, and longevity-driven solutions into the mix,” said Jenny B. Fine, Editor in Chief, Beauty Inc and Executive Editor, Beauty, WWD. “Today’s beauty consumer is highly informed, deeply results-oriented, and more willing than ever to move fluidly across categories in pursuit of optimization, efficacy, and long-term well-being.”

New Categories Deepen Engagement in Traditional Beauty

About 70% of optimizers say aesthetic procedures are a regular part of their routines. This drives greater engagement in traditional beauty categories, with 70% investing more in premium or medical-grade skin care, and 50% adding more steps or ingredients to their routines.

GLP-1s are also creating new beauty needs. Approximately 30% of optimizers report using them in the past 12 months. Of those who reported changes in facial volume, skin quality, dryness, or breakouts, about half are turning to more luxury or medical-grade skin care. Nearly 80% of those who reported sagging or loose skin have increased their use of fillers, injectables, skin tightening, contouring, or laser treatments.

Optimizers are also four times more likely than overall beauty consumers to use longevity and anti-aging supplements, and twice as likely to use beauty supplements.

How Consumers Research Beauty

About 75% of optimizers used AI in the last month to research beauty, wellness, or longevity, and 25% say it is their primary source. Among male optimizers, 40% use AI to build personalized beauty routines?2.6 times the rate of women.

Social media still plays a role in discovery, though trust is shifting. About 40% of optimizers discover products through influencer posts or social media ads, but only 1 in 20 cite social media as their most trusted source. Friends and family are the most common source of discovery, while medical professionals are the most trusted. Around 75% say they choose brands based on proven efficacy and scientific validation.

An Expanded Definition of Beauty

As optimizers engage with beauty differently than the average beauty consumer, brands and retailers should rethink how they attract this growing segment.

“Traditional beauty still anchors the category, but the definition is expanding,” said Pierre Dupreelle, a BCG managing director and senior partner, and global beauty sector leader. “Rather than rely on a few hero products, consumers are layering solutions across aesthetics, performance, and longevity categories to get the results they want. Beauty Bar Lounge Elevates New York Skincare with Personalized, Results-Driven Beauty Solutions

— Beauty Bar Lounge is thrilled to announce the release of the newest products in the company’s range of effective beauty products and solutions tailored to the current demand for customized skincare in New York City. It has become evident in recent years that the world of beauty is moving toward simplicity, efficiency, and healthy skin.

In today’s market environment, people have access to more information than ever before. Instead of focusing on quick results, they now require permanent change and a healthy state of their skin. That is why Beauty Bar Lounge came up with a whole new system, incorporating all aspects of expertise and advanced technology.

Bridging Professional Expertise with Everyday Skincare

The other distinctive feature about this launch is the attempt to bring professional-quality skincare into the daily routine. The company has launched Beauty Bar Lounge, offering one of the finest sets of professional skincare, carefully chosen and formulated to give professional results at home. In addition to that, all the products included in this collection have been meticulously designed and formulated, taking into account the varying characteristics of people’s skins.

Furthermore, unlike other companies, which tend to confuse people with overly complicated instructions, Beauty Bar Lounge aims at providing clear guidelines. This way, users know exactly what their skin lacks and how they can improve its appearance.

A Holistic Approach to Beauty and Wellness

The Beauty Bar Lounge goes above and beyond in terms of providing a mere beauty solution through introducing wellness concepts into its services. The new line of Beauty wellness care products targets not only skin health but relaxation and self-love. As such, the connection between having a healthy skin and being generally healthy comes out to be quite obvious.

The whole concept of wellness is incorporated in various products of different categories, from relaxing facial brushes and gentle face washes to rejuvenating serums. In addition, users should expect not merely getting a good result but enjoying the process itself every day.

In general, a holistic approach used in this skincare line can be considered a part of a wider trend in the beauty care industry.

Designed for Real Results, Not Empty Promises

When everyone around you is making tall claims, there’s Beauty Bar Lounge that has a pragmatic approach to things. They manufacture their skincare products using scientifically proven ingredients.

Their promise is gradual change in your skin rather than immediate results. Your skin will definitely get better because of their products, especially when it comes to skin tone and texture. The most important thing is that they set your expectations right before you start using their products.

Personalized Skincare Like Never Before

What really makes this launch stand out is the element of customization. The founders of Beauty Bar Lounge know that each person’s skin is different, which means the treatments that they offer will cater to these differences.

Users will be advised based on their skin type, concerns, and objectives. If you have dry, sensitive, or uneven skin, the product range will help you address your specific problem.

With this customized approach, consumers won’t end up investing their time and money on products that won’t benefit them.

Simplifying Beauty Without Compromising Quality

Our current lifestyle demands us to make things easy and convenient for ourselves, and Beauty Bar Lounge products have taken this into account when designing their routines. They are simple to use and adapt easily to our hectic schedules.

At the same time, the company ensures that quality is not an issue. Its products are carefully designed and developed to be safe and effective. Therefore, there is a perfect blend of simplicity and effectiveness in this brand’s products. This has made skincare easier for people to adopt.

Empowering Confidence Through Better Skin

Healthy skin has a huge influence on the way people perceive themselves. The main objective of Beauty Bar Lounge is not only to enhance skin, but also to boost self-confidence.

The effect of the emotional transformation brought by improvements in skin condition is also an important aspect that Beauty Bar Lounge seeks to accomplish.

By providing customized skin care products, Beauty Bar Lounge enables its customers to feel more at ease with their skin.

Supporting Long-Term Skin Health

Yet another key aspect that will play an important role in the success of this launch is skin sustainability. Rather than providing temporary solutions that wear off quickly, the products aim to help sustain healthy skin.

This is achieved by hydrating the skin, creating a protective barrier on the skin surface, and preventing any damage from occurring because of the surrounding environment. This approach allows for the provision of lasting effects that can be observed in the long run.

Innovation Rooted in Practicality

Although innovation plays a vital role in the launch process, it is always rooted in pragmatism. For example, Beauty Bar Lounge does not try to complicate matters but rather strives to develop innovations that enhance users’ experiences.

All the products have an intended function, and all the steps involved in the routine are meant to deliver some kind of result. The brand has been able to strike a balance between formulation and design.

The Future Is Personal, The Future Is Skin-Deep Confidence

This launch will be much more than simply a rollout of new products; it will be about revolutionizing the perception of skincare within our daily lives. With the introduction of Beauty Bar Lounge, people will have the opportunity to break away from their trial and error methods and engage in skincare on an informed basis.

By offering solutions such as the best professional skin care set and beauty wellness care products that are meticulously researched, Beauty Bar Lounge provides an environment in which skincare will no longer seem daunting. Instead, it will become something of a personal investment.

The evolution of Beauty Bar Lounge will follow a definite path, namely that of turning skincare into a personal experience.
