Naturals Beauty marks 18 years with 2 new skincare products

Local skincare brand Naturals Beauty is marking its 18th anniversary with two new locally made products, expanding its offering with a peptide-focused facial serum and a botanical body oil ahead of the summer season.

Founded in a South African mother’s kitchen, Naturals Beauty has grown into a local skincare business built around naturally inspired ingredients, local manufacturing and uncomplicated formulations.

The latest launches — the Re-Gen Peptide Power Serum and Botanical Body Oil — extend the brand’s offering from targeted facial care to everyday body care.

“Eighteen years ago, Naturals Beauty started because I wanted products I felt comfortable using on my own family,” says founder Tanya du Bois. “That belief in effective, uncomplicated skincare has never changed.”

A science-led addition to the range

The Re-Gen Peptide Power Serum introduces a more targeted approach to facial skincare, centred on a 2% biotechnology-derived peptide active produced using plant-based biotechnology.

The formula also contains Copper Tripeptide-1 and Malachite Extract, combining peptide technology with antioxidant and skin-conditioning ingredients. Designed for all skin types, including sensitive skin, the lightweight, fragrance-free serum can be incorporated into morning or evening skincare routines.

The product is positioned around smoother, firmer-looking and more resilient skin, while keeping application relatively simple — applied after cleansing and before moisturiser and sunscreen.

Botanical body care for summer

The Botanical Body Oil takes the brand’s approach into body care, combining Sweet Almond, Jojoba and Baobab oils with Neroli, Rose Geranium and Sweet Orange essential oils.

The fast-absorbing formulation is designed to nourish dry skin without leaving a heavy residue. The brand is positioning it as a summer-friendly addition to daily routines, particularly following activities such as swimming and shaving or exposure to sun and air conditioning.

The oil can be applied to slightly damp skin after bathing or showering to help retain moisture.

From kitchen beginnings to local skincare brand

Naturals Beauty was established 18 years ago after founder du Bois began making skincare products at home for her family.

That focus on accessible, locally produced skincare remains central to the business as it expands its product portfolio.

“We’ve learnt so much over 18 years, but I still come back to the same question when we develop something new: does this product have a genuine place in someone’s routine?” says du Bois.

“Beauty can become incredibly complicated. We want Naturals Beauty to be the opposite of that. Good ingredients, considered formulations and products that people actually enjoy using.”

Both new products launched on 23 August 2026 and are available through the Naturals Beauty online store and selected stockists nationwide.

The launches give the brand an opportunity to mark its anniversary while responding to two established areas of consumer skincare demand: more targeted facial treatments and simplified body-care routines.

Japanese skincare puts emphasis on using less products

These Japanese Skincare Tips Can Take Years Off Your Face

Cleansers, toners, serums, creams and sunscreens are part of everyone’s skincare routine. However, these alone won’t be enough to make their skin appear and feel better. Many people believe that the more products they use, the better the results will be. However, Japanese skincare teaches us something entirely different. If you adopt a Japanese skincare routine, you will discover that you can achieve excellent results using fewer products.

Double cleansing is crucial: After spending the entire day in the sun, it is common for sweat and excess oil to accumulate on one’s face. In such instances, double cleansing is absolutely essential to keep your skin in optimal condition. First, you must remove your makeup using an oil-based cleanser, and then thoroughly cleanse your skin using a face wash.

Incorporate green tea in skincare: The antioxidants found in green tea can protect the skin from damage and help reduce inflammation. You can incorporate it into your daily skincare routine by using it in a face mask, a toner, or as an ingredient in other skincare products.

Stay protected from the sun: In Japan, people never step outdoors without applying sunscreen. Therefore, if you too wish to maintain healthy, beautiful skin, make sure to include a lightweight, fast-absorbing sunscreen in your daily routine.

Gentle exfoliation: Removing dead skin cells is vital for maintaining a glowing complexion. If you are planning to exfoliate your skin, consider using a gentle scrub, like one based on rice or enzymes.

Apply sheet masks: Using a sheet mask once or twice a week can help keep your skin feeling fresh and hydrated. This can prove to be a highly effective method for achieving radiant, glowing skin.

9 habits of people who look 10 years younger than their age—and none of them involve skincare – VegOut

9 habits of people who look 10 years younger than their age—and none of them involve skincare – VegOut

Ever notice how some people just seem to defy time?

Last month at my college reunion, I ran into someone I hadn’t seen in years. We’d graduated together, but looking at her, you’d think she was a decade younger than the rest of us. When I asked about her secret, expecting to hear about some expensive serum or revolutionary facial treatment, she laughed and said something that stuck with me: “I just live differently.”

That conversation got me thinking about all the people I know who seem to have discovered the fountain of youth. And here’s what surprised me: none of them are obsessed with skincare routines or cosmetic procedures. Instead, they share certain lifestyle habits that keep them looking and feeling vibrant.

After years of observing these ageless wonders and adopting many of their habits myself (people often assume I’m in my early thirties rather than my actual age), I’ve identified nine key behaviors that make all the difference. And the best part? They’re all within your reach.

1. They prioritize sleep like their life depends on it

Remember when pulling all-nighters was a badge of honor? Yeah, those days need to be behind us if we want to look younger.

The people who look a decade younger consistently get 7-9 hours of quality sleep. They treat bedtime like a sacred appointment. No scrolling through social media until 2 AM, no “just one more episode” marathons on work nights.

I learned this lesson the hard way. During my financial analyst days, I survived on 4-5 hours of sleep, thinking I was being productive. My skin looked dull, I had permanent dark circles, and I felt constantly depleted. Now, I’m in bed by 9:30 PM most nights to wake at 5:30 AM for my trail runs. The difference in how I look and feel is dramatic.

Quality sleep is when your body repairs itself, produces collagen, and reduces inflammation. Skip it regularly, and you’re essentially fast-tracking the aging process.

2. They move their bodies every single day

Not necessarily intense workouts, but consistent movement.

The youngest-looking people I know have found ways to integrate movement into their daily lives. They take the stairs, walk during phone calls, do yoga in the morning, or dance while cooking dinner.

For me, discovering trail running at 28 changed everything. What started as stress relief from work became my fountain of youth. Running 20-30 miles weekly through nature doesn’t just keep me fit; it gives me a natural glow that no highlighter could replicate. The fresh air, the endorphins, the vitamin D from morning sun exposure, all of it contributes to that youthful appearance.

Movement increases blood flow, delivers oxygen to your cells, and helps flush out toxins. Plus, regular exercise maintains muscle tone, which naturally decreases with age and contributes to that “saggy” look we associate with getting older.

3. They stay hydrated (and I mean really hydrated)

How much water did you drink today? Be honest.

People who look younger than their years are water enthusiasts. They carry water bottles everywhere, drink herbal teas, eat water-rich foods, and start their day with a big glass of water.

Proper hydration plumps up your skin cells, making fine lines less noticeable. It helps flush out toxins that can make your complexion look dull. And it keeps your energy levels stable, so you’re not reaching for that third cup of coffee that disrupts your sleep later.

I aim for at least 80 ounces daily, more on running days. The difference in my skin when I’m properly hydrated versus when I’m not? Night and day.

4. They manage stress like pros

Chronic stress is aging in fast-forward mode.

The people who look youngest have developed solid stress management techniques. They meditate, practice deep breathing, journal, or have hobbies that help them decompress.

I’ll admit, when someone first suggested meditation to me, my analytical mind thought it was too woo-woo. But desperation during a particularly stressful period made me try it. Now, my daily meditation practice is non-negotiable. Those quiet moments before sunrise, before my run, set the tone for my entire day.

Stress triggers cortisol production, which breaks down collagen, increases inflammation, and can lead to premature aging. Finding healthy ways to manage stress isn’t just good for your mind; it’s essential for maintaining a youthful appearance.

5. They eat real food (most of the time)

Notice I said “most of the time,” not “always.”

The youngest-looking people I know focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods but aren’t obsessive about it. They load up on vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean proteins. They limit processed foods, excessive sugar, and alcohol.

When I transitioned to veganism at 35, it wasn’t initially about looking younger. But the increase in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals from all those plants? My skin started glowing, my energy soared, and people started commenting on how “fresh” I looked.

You don’t need to go vegan, but eating a variety of colorful, whole foods provides the nutrients your body needs to repair and regenerate. Think of food as information for your cells. What message are you sending?

6. They cultivate meaningful relationships

Loneliness ages you. Connection keeps you young.

People who look younger invest in their relationships. They maintain friendships, spend quality time with loved ones, and build communities around shared interests.

My volunteering at local farmers’ markets isn’t just about supporting local agriculture. It’s about the connections, the conversations, the sense of belonging. These social interactions reduce stress, boost mood, and give us purpose, all of which reflect in how we look and carry ourselves.

Studies show that strong social connections can actually slow biological aging. Those laugh lines from genuine joy with friends? They’re worth it.

7. They never stop learning

Mental stagnation shows on your face.

The most youthful people I know are curious. They read books, take classes, learn new skills, travel to new places. They maintain that childlike wonder about the world.

Leaving my six-figure salary at 37 to pursue writing full-time wasn’t just a career change. It was choosing growth over comfort. That excitement about learning something new, that mental stimulation, it keeps you vibrant in a way that shows physically.

When your brain is engaged and challenged, it shows in your eyes, your energy, your entire demeanor. You radiate vitality.

8. They protect themselves from the sun

Okay, this one borders on skincare, but hear me out. It’s more about the habit than the product.

People who look younger wear hats, seek shade, and yes, use sunscreen. But it’s part of their lifestyle, not an obsessive routine.

During my morning trail runs, I wear a cap and choose shaded paths when possible. On sunny days, I run earlier to avoid peak UV hours. These simple habits protect against photoaging, which accounts for up to 80% of visible facial aging.

9. They laugh often and deeply

When did you last have a proper belly laugh?

The youngest-looking people find humor in daily life. They don’t take themselves too seriously. They surround themselves with people who make them laugh.

Laughter reduces stress hormones, boosts immune function, and releases endorphins. It’s literally anti-aging medicine that’s completely free. Plus, people who laugh often develop a lightness of being that makes them appear more youthful regardless of their chronological age.

Final thoughts

Looking younger isn’t about expensive treatments or complicated routines. It’s about how you live your life day to day.

These nine habits work synergistically. Good sleep supports exercise recovery. Exercise helps manage stress. Stress management improves sleep. Healthy eating fuels movement. It’s all connected.

Start with one habit. Maybe it’s drinking more water or going to bed 30 minutes earlier. Once that feels natural, add another. Small, consistent changes lead to dramatic results over time.

Remember, the goal isn’t to stop aging entirely. That’s impossible and honestly, not even desirable. The goal is to age well, to maintain vitality, to feel good in your skin at any age.

The real secret those ageless people know? Taking care of yourself isn’t vanity. It’s self-respect. And that inner confidence, that joy in being alive and healthy? That’s what really makes you glow.

The former The Pierces band member turned solo artist and content creator, loves sharing her “unsolicited advice”.

She has created a number of “hot tips” over the years that have left her skin “never looking better”, she insisted in a social media post.

Cat, who boats over 260,000 on her Instagram page, says she prioritises eating pumpkin seeds every single day.

“They’re great for your skin, your hair, your hormones, and they’re delicious,” she said.

FACE IT

The SIX skincare tips to get rid of ‘Christmas face’ this winter

Pumpkin seeds have a long history of use dating back to over 7,500 years ago. Across many cultures, they’ve been used as a folk remedy to treat a number of health issues thanks to their nutritious, omega-3 fatty acids and lots of minerals that have anti-inflammatory effects that lead to brighter, more firm, supple skin.

Cat, who is from Birmingham in the US state of Alabama, also eats walnuts and prunes every single day.

Walnuts are great at protecting the skin for environmental stress and promote collagen and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. They are a fantastic addition to any diet for promoting a natural glow, according to The Doctors Laser Clinic Norwich.

Plus, prunes help fight aging and wrinkles. It is packed with potassium which helps draw water to the skin cells and prevent dryness, while its Vitamin A helps to maintain clear, less patchy skin.

Cat, who owns her own skincare brand called Owen, says they also “keep everything moving”.

In a bid for further skin hydration, she also drinks three litres of water a day and drinks electrolytes, which supercharge the absorption of water to bring vibrancy back to the skin, according to Beauty Pie.

Cat, who loves using a hydrating balm on her lips every day, also says she “doses everything” she eats in olive oil.

“It’s good for your heart, it keeps your skin plump,” she added.

The youthful-looking woman also swears by using an acid toner, dubbing it as a “game changer”. While she is a fan of Lotion p50 it will set you back over £90. As an alternative, she suggests Byoma Brightening Toner, which you can buy from Boots for £11.99.

The singer also says she loves using a gua sha – a smooth-edged tool to massage and scrape the skin – on her face.

“This releases the muscles, it prevents hard lines from appearing,” she said.

Cat, who enjoys walking in the countryside for exercise, also says speaking kindly to yourself and loving yourself is essential and looking and feeling young.

She said: “You know how people say ‘if you talk to your plants and suddenly they will thrive’, it’s the same with your body.”

She added: “Instead of saying ‘I look old and tired, I’m losing my beauty’, no, you say, I need some extra kindness, nourishment, I need a nap.”

She also loves listening to audio books to learn new things. She insists educating yourself or trying out a new hobby can help you feel lively.

Cat admits that she does get 20 units of Botox between her brows, but she insists that overdoing it can take away from looking youthful and alive.

This $16 Cream Has Been My Skincare Secret for 11 Years

This $16 Cream Has Been My Skincare Secret for 11 Years

It’s time to break the gate on the skincare secret I’ve been keeping for more than a decade now.

This Egyptian Magic Cream has been a quiet staple in my life — a product I’ve been reaching for every single day for more than 11 years without even thinking twice. It’s one of those “it just works” formulas that doesn’t have a flashy label or fancy ingredients. I don’t know what took me so long, but it’s time to give this little jar of magic its well-deserved spotlight.

Egyptian Magic Skin Cream

People

NEED TO KNOW

  • All-natural ingredients: Egyptian Magic is made from just five simple ingredients (olive oil, beeswax, honey, royal jelly, and bee propolis), with no parabens, synthetic fragrances, or preservatives.

  • Multi-use balm: Works as a face cream, lip balm, body moisturizer, makeup remover, highlighter, hair smoother, and more.

  • Soothing and repairing: Hydrates very dry or irritated skin and helps to calm eczema, redness, cracked heels, and minor burns.

I first heard of Egyptian Magic when my pediatrician recommended it for my then-toddler’s stubborn diaper rash. Desperate for relief, I ordered it on Amazon, smeared a layer over the rash, and within a couple of days the irritation was gone. So naturally, I started putting it on my face? Because I realized this wasn’t just a baby cream — it was a do-it-all skin salve.

I started dabbing it on my lips and noticed a softer, smoother pout. I tried it as a makeup remover, and it melted away mascara without leaving my skin tight or with streaks of black under my eyes.

From there, it became my go-to moisturizing fix for rough cuticles, cracked heels, and even my perpetually dry knuckles in winter. Over time, I found myself reaching for it in all kinds of unexpected ways — smoothing flyaways, taming wild brows, even dabbing it over high points of my face for a dewy glow. I never set out to replace a dozen products, but somehow, this balm just kept stepping in.

The ingredient list includes just five all-natural nourishing staples — honey, royal jelly, beeswax, olive oil, and bee propolis. Together, they create a formula that’s packed with antioxidants, antibacterial properties, and deep hydration. The texture feels rich and silky, almost like a balm that melts into an oil as soon as it touches your skin. A little dab goes a long way, so one jar can last several months, or longer.

People

Plenty of other shoppers swear by it, too — including someone who’s used it on their face and neck even longer than I have. “I have used this cream for 30 years or more… because of its effectiveness in holding off the hands of time,” they professed.

“This product works better than any expensive spa moisturizer I’ve tried. It nourishes and plumps my skin even around my eyes,” another shopper who lives in a dry, high desert climate shared. “I use it at night and by morning my skin is dewy soft.” That said, if you’re prone to oily skin or frequent breakouts, you might find the formula a bit too heavy for your face — but it’s still incredibly effective for dry patches, lips, or anywhere else your skin needs extra care.

After more than a decade of use (with no end in sight), Egyptian Magic is the one jar I always keep on my bathroom counter within reach. And below are a few more skincare products I swear by for keeping my skin looking healthy in my 40s.
