For years, the conversation around anti-ageing often centred on injectables, cosmetic procedures and surgery. But today, many people are looking for something different. They still want firmer skin, improved texture and a more youthful appearance, but they’re increasingly seeking treatments that work with the skin rather than dramatically altering it. The result is a growing interest in advanced, non-invasive facial treatments that promise noticeable results without needles, surgery or lengthy recovery times.

According to Aisha Spencer, Spa and Salon Director, Three Graces Day Spa, that’s exactly what she’s seeing among her clients.

“Most of our clients are asking for natural-looking, noticeable results without the downtime, pain or risks associated with surgery or injections. Busy lifestyles mean people can’t afford days off for recovery or bruising.”

At the same time, she says, skincare technology has advanced significantly, particularly innovations coming out of South Korea.

“We can now stimulate the skin to repair and lift itself from deep within, delivering real firmness while keeping your natural look completely intact.”

Ms Spencer believes people are beginning to think about skincare differently, not as an occasional luxury, but as an investment in long-term skin health.

“I always compare skincare to dental health. You brush your teeth every day at home, but you still visit the hygienist every six months to keep them healthy. Skin works exactly the same way. Home products are important, but if you want healthy skin as you age, professional treatments every six to eight weeks help maintain its structure, density and overall health.”

One treatment attracting attention is the Thesera L Melting Thread Lift Facial, a needle-free treatment developed in South Korea.

Despite its name, Ms Spencer is quick to point out that there are no surgical threads involved.

“The biggest misconception is hearing the words ‘thread lift’ and assuming it involves needles, sutures or pain. This treatment is 100 per cent needle-free, painless and actually very relaxing.”

Instead, the treatment uses silk protein and chitosan — natural, skin-building materials — that are broken down into microscopic particles capable of penetrating the skin without injections.

The New Face of Skincare: Three Graces Day Spa (Photograph by Akil Simmons)

The process begins with a gentle acid blend that removes dead skin cells and temporarily opens tiny pathways within the skin. A liquid thread solution containing microscopic silk protein and chitosan particles is then applied, allowing them to absorb into the dermis, where collagen is produced.

Finally, a firming mask seals everything in, encouraging the skin to tighten while stimulating its own natural collagen production.

Rather than creating an artificial change, the treatment works with the body’s own regenerative processes.

“It’s surprisingly versatile because it works with your body’s natural biology rather than forcing a synthetic change.”

She says the treatment is suitable for anyone beginning to notice early signs of ageing, including reduced firmness around the jawline, fine lines, smile lines and a loss of elasticity. It can also be used preventively by younger clients hoping to maintain collagen before more visible signs of ageing appear.

“For clients in their twenties and early thirties, it’s about preventive maintenance. It helps keep the skin dense and slows down natural volume loss before deeper lines begin to form. For clients aged 35 and over, it helps rebuild structural support, firm areas around the cheeks and jawline and soften visible lines.”

She adds that the treatment is suitable for all skin tones and skin types, as well as both women and men. Results can often be seen immediately after treatment, with skin appearing tighter, plumper and more hydrated.

“Clients get an immediate ‘flash lift’ right out of the facial room. But the real magic happens over the following weeks as those absorbed particles signal your body to build fresh collagen.”

A single treatment typically delivers a tightening and brightening effect that can last between one and four months, making it a popular choice before weddings, holidays and other special occasions. A course of four treatments, performed one to three weeks apart, builds collagen over time and can provide firmer skin for six to eight months.

While traditional facials remain an important part of a skincare routine, Ms Spencer says advanced treatments offer something different.

“A traditional facial is wonderful for surface maintenance. It cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates the outer layer of the skin. Advanced treatments like the Melting Thread Lift work several layers deeper, targeting the skin’s structural foundation while still providing the relaxing experience of a luxury facial.”

For anyone considering advanced skincare for the first time, her advice is to think about skin health as a long-term investment rather than a quick fix.

“Just like you can’t go to the dentist once and expect healthy teeth for ten years, glowing skin requires consistency. Pair your daily home routine with professional treatments every six to eight weeks.”

She also encourages clients to stay well hydrated after treatment.

“Because the micro-threads bind with water inside the skin to create that plump, lifted effect, staying well hydrated and wearing daily sun protection will help your results last even longer.”

The Amazon reviewer also highlighted how well the products worked together, saying each one “layers nicely without feeling heavy or greasy” and that their skin felt “instantly refreshed and hydrated after the first use”.

The reviewer described the kit as offering “a full skincare experience that feels much more expensive than it is”, making it appealing for anyone who wants to experiment with a new routine without making a bigger investment. See the current £17.40 price.

It could also make sense for skincare beginners who don’t know where to start, or anyone who already loves e.l.f. and wants to take some of its Holy Hydration products on holiday.

Dermatologists Say This 1 Product Has Surprising ‘Anti-Aging’ Benefits

Dermatologists Say This 1 Product Has Surprising ‘Anti-Aging’ Benefits

“Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links.”

It’s common knowledge that sunscreen can prevent premature signs of aging by protecting against the sun’s harsh UV rays. But recently, a dermatologist surprised some when she suggested SPF could go further—potentially even turning back the clock on your skin.

“Consistent sunscreen use over time has actually been shown to reverse sun damage,” California dermatologist Samantha Ellis, M.D., said in a recent TikTok. “Sunscreen makes you look younger over time” by improving skin texture and helping dark spots fade, she added.

Dr. Ellis’ comments come months after a paper published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that most experts agree that sunscreen is a powerful skincare product. For the paper, researchers asked 62 dermatologists at 43 academic centers across the country how effective they thought a wide range of products and skincare ingredients were in treating various skin health issues.

Meet the experts: Joshua Zeichner, M.D., director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital; Ife J. Rodney, M.D., double-board-certified dermatologist and founding director of Eternal Dermatology and Aesthetics; Gary Goldenberg, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist in New York City

The vast majority—96.8%—said mineral sunscreen was their top choice for preventing fine lines and wrinkles. In fact, the data suggested many believed mineral sunscreen was as important as retinoids, which are a mainstay of commercial anti-aging skincare products. (Chemical sunscreen was highly rated, too.)

While many people slather on sunscreen as a preventative measure, the idea that it can promote skin renewal isn’t well-known. Below, dermatologists break down how this works.

Why might sunscreen help skin look younger?

There are a few reasons for this. “Sunscreen is perhaps the best anti-aging tool we have for our skin,” says Joshua Zeichner, M.D., director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. “UVA rays from the sun not only put you at risk for skin cancer, but also for premature aging.” UV light exposure has been linked to the development of fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, and broken capillaries, all of which can age your skin, he explains.

Sunscreen can also protect against skin discoloration that can make you look older, says Ife J. Rodney, M.D., a double-board-certified dermatologist and founding director of Eternal Dermatology and Aesthetics. “The sun triggers more production of melanocytes—cells that produce the pigment melanin—which can lead to discoloration,” she explains. “Using sunscreen consistently blocks those triggers so you don’t get as much discoloration.”

“UV is also responsible for destruction of adipose tissue in the skin, leading to even more skin sagging,” adds Gary Goldenberg, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist in New York City.

On the other hand, when you wear (and regularly reapply) sunscreen, it blocks out those UV rays. Moreover, it can even promote younger-looking skin. “There is actually good scientific evidence that sunscreen use decreases signs of skin aging,” Dr. Goldberg says. He cites an older clinical trial published in Annals of Internal Medicine that divided 903 adults into groups that used sunscreen daily and sporadically. Those who used sunscreen daily had “no detectable increase in skin aging after 4.5 years.”

Wearing sunscreen allows your skin to do its job more efficiently, Dr. Zeichner explains. He points out that the skin can heal itself more easily when it’s not constantly dealing with free radicals (or unstable atoms) from UV light. “This means healthy skin cell growth and repair with improvements in sun-related dark spots and even enhanced skin barrier function,” he says.

What are the limits of this?

Dermatologists agree that using sunscreen can help preserve youthful-looking skin, lower the risk of sun damage, and give your skin time to repair itself. But Dr. Rodney says it’s important to have perspective on how much sunscreen can do. “I would not say that using sunscreen will undo deep wrinkles and collagen breakdown,” she says. Instead, the effects may be more subtle.

Dr. Zeichner also stresses that sunscreen is only effective when it’s used properly. “It is important to protect yourself from the sun every day, not just when you are at the beach,” he says. “Incidental UV light exposure adds up over time.” That’s why he suggests wearing sunscreen in the car, when you’re eating lunch outside, or even when you plan to be indoors. “You are at risk for sun damage,” he says. “UVA rays penetrate through the clouds and through window glass, so you can expose yourself to sun damage, even if you are outside on a cloudy day or indoors or in the car next to a window.”

Regularly seeking shade also helps, Dr. Rodney adds.

How to maximize sunscreen use for younger-looking skin

Applying sunscreen in the morning and reapplying throughout the day is one of the best ways to maximize the perks, according to Dr. Rodney. “This is one of the main and most important things you can do for your skin,” she says.

Dr. Goldenberg points out that you can use sunscreen along with other beneficial ingredients, which will maximize results. “It can be used together with other anti-aging skincare products, such as retinol and vitamin C,” he says.

Overall, dermatologists agree that daily sunscreen use is the way to go for younger-looking skin. “If you want healthy, clear, and wrinkle-free skin, wear sunscreen daily,” Dr. Zeichner says.

Walk down any skincare aisle or scroll through social media, and two products consistently stand out: face masks and Vitamin C serums. Both have earned cult status, but they are also among the most misunderstood skincare products. While they can be incredibly beneficial when used correctly, neither is a miracle solution, and unrealistic expectations often lead to disappointment. The key to achieving healthy skin lies in understanding what these products can and cannot do.

Is vitamin C scientifically proven for skin?

“Vitamin C remains one of the most extensively researched topical antioxidants in dermatology. Its benefits are supported by scientific evidence, making it a valuable addition to many skincare routines,” Dermatologist Dr Pranitha, Maya Medi Spa, tells Health Shots.

When formulated and stored correctly, Vitamin C can:

  • Neutralize free radicals caused by UV exposure and pollution.
  • Brighten dull skin by reducing excess pigmentation.
  • Help fade post-acne marks and uneven skin tone.
  • Support collagen production to improve skin firmness over time.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of sunscreen by reducing oxidative stress, although it should never replace SPF.

“However, Vitamin C is not an overnight treatment. Visible improvements in pigmentation and skin brightness typically require consistent use over several weeks or even months,” says the dermatologist.

Why don’t people see results?

One of the biggest reasons Vitamin C appears ineffective is that consumers unknowingly purchase unstable formulations. Vitamin C is highly sensitive to air, light, and heat. “Once oxidized, it loses much of its effectiveness,” says the doctor. Another common mistake is choosing products based solely on high percentages. Stronger is not always better.

For many individuals, especially those with sensitive skin, higher concentrations may lead to irritation without providing additional benefits. “Layering Vitamin C with too many active ingredients or using it inconsistently can also reduce its effectiveness”, says Dr Pranitha. Like most skincare ingredients, consistency is key and matters far more than occasional use.

Do face masks actually make a difference?

Face masks are another category often surrounded by exaggerated claims. While they can be an excellent addition to a skincare routine, they should be viewed as supportive treatments rather than primary solutions.

Different masks serve different purposes:

  • Hydrating masks replenish moisture and temporarily improve skin plumpness.
  • Clay masks help absorb excess oil and reduce surface congestion.
  • Brightening masks can enhance skin radiance with ingredients such as niacinamide, enzymes, or mild acids.
  • Calming masks help soothe irritated or inflamed skin.

Most face masks provide immediate cosmetic improvements, better hydration, smoother texture, or a healthy glow, but these effects are generally temporary. They do not replace a well-designed daily skincare routine or professional treatments when addressing concerns such as melasma, acne scars, or significant signs of aging.

What is the 4-2-4 rule in skincare?

Many people expect a single product to solve every skin concern. In reality, skincare should be tailored to an individual’s skin type, lifestyle, and specific concerns.

Some of the most common mistakes include:

  • Using face masks too frequently leads to irritation or barrier damage.
  • Leaving masks on longer than recommended, believing a longer application gives better results.
  • Purchasing Vitamin C products based solely on social media trends rather than ingredient stability or formulation quality.
  • Ignoring sunscreen while using brightening products can lead to new pigmentation.
  • Following complicated routines with too many active ingredients increases the risk of irritation.

Building a science-backed routine

An effective skincare routine does not need to be complicated. A gentle cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and carefully selected active ingredients are often sufficient for healthy skin. “Vitamin C fits well into a morning routine because of its antioxidant protection”, explains the expert. At the same time, face masks can be used occasionally based on individual skin needs rather than daily.

For persistent concerns such as pigmentation, acne, rosacea, or premature aging, professional evaluation is important. These conditions often require prescription medications or in-clinic treatments in addition to topical skincare. “Ultimately, skincare should focus less on viral trends and more on evidence-based ingredients, realistic expectations, and consistency”, shares the expert. Both Vitamin C and face masks have their place, but neither should be viewed as a miracle product. Healthy skin is achieved through a personalized routine built on science, patience, and daily care, not quick fixes.

Can You Use Niacinamide And Vitamin C In The Same Routine?

Can You Use Niacinamide And Vitamin C In The Same Routine?

Are There Any Side Effects to Watch Out For?

For most people, no. The main thing to watch for is overloading your skin with too many potent actives in one sitting, not because niacinamide and vitamin C fight each other, but because any high-strength actives, layered together too aggressively, can overwhelm sensitive or beginner skin. If you’re new to actives, ease in by alternating nights, niacinamide one night, vitamin C the next, and build up from there once your skin adjusts.

Formulogic Debuts in Singapore with Science-Driven Barrier Care for Southeast Asia's Sensitive Skin

Formulogic Debuts in Singapore with Science-Driven Barrier Care for Southeast Asia’s Sensitive Skin

SINGAPORE, Aug. 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Formulogic, a science- and evidence-driven dermocosmetic brand dedicated to sensitive skin, developed through dermatological research and clinical validation, officially debuted in Singapore at CONNEX-C Asia 2026, jointly organized by Society of Cosmetic Scientists (Singapore) (SCSS) and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, unveiling its evidence-based barrier care philosophy and a comprehensive skincare system designed specifically for Southeast Asia’s unique climate and skin concerns.

The launch also disclosed new R&D findings from Formulogic’s in vivo clinical studies and introduced its Adaptive Care Loop, which identifies the skin’s condition, selects the appropriate product track, and applies a three-step Cleanse, Treat and Protect system. Moreover, Formulogic announced plans to increase its investment in skin science, as well as the establishment of Singapore Sensitive Skin Lab, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to bringing clinical-grade, prescription-like barrier repair into everyday skincare across Southeast Asia.

At the launch, Formulogic Chief R&D Scientist Dr. Arwen Liu noted that sensitive skin rarely stems from a single cause. Neuro-sensory, hormonal and emotional factors interact with heat, humidity, unhealthy lifestyle and product use, while the resulting barrier disruption presents differently in dry and oily skin, which is why no single solution can adequately address every barrier state.

Therefore, for dry-sensitive skin, the Barrier Guard B5 Series is led by Formulogic’s flagship Panthenol All-in-One Barrier Cream, formulated with 5% panthenol to replenish moisture, strengthen the skin barrier and soothe visible signs of sensitivity in a lightweight texture for daily use. For consumers with oily-sensitive skin, the B3-Ceramide Oil-Control Barrier Moisturizer combines five types of ceramides with 4% niacinamide to reinforce the skin barrier while helping balance excess sebum and calm blemish-prone skin without compromising hydration.

Formulogic Scientific Advisor Dr. Jun Ho Sang also addressed post-procedure physiology, noting that visible redness after laser, IPL or microneedling treatments may subside before the skin’s protective and water-retention functions fully recover. Post-procedure care requires staged support beyond surface soothing: limiting moisture loss, supporting lipid-barrier organization and avoiding early reintroduction of high-intensity actives. Formulogic addresses this through barrier-focused formulas combining hydration, comfort and lipid-supportive care to support resilience throughout recovery.

Formulogic will continue collaborating with dermatologists, scientists and industry experts to develop clinically validated skincare tailored to the evolving needs of Southeast Asian consumers. By combining scientific research, local innovation and barrier expertise, the brand aims to make professional skin barrier care more accessible and help more people build healthier skin for the long term.

I Tried Hailey Bieber’s Morning Skin Care & Makeup Routine For 1 Week

I Tried Hailey Bieber’s Morning Skin Care & Makeup Routine For 1 Week

In the beauty world, Hailey Bieber is inescapable. Whether it’s for her mega-viral skin care line, minimalist manicure inspiration, or effortlessly dewy makeup looks, the multi-hyphenate is constantly dominating headlines and starting new trends. It seems like everyone wants to exude her uncomplicated, confident aura by copying her beauty routines. Well, everyone except for maybe me.

I’ve never been one to follow the trends — I march to the beat of my own beauty drum — and similarly, I haven’t caught onto the hype behind Bieber’s brand Rhode. As a beauty editor, I tend to be skeptical of celebrity-founded brands and gravitate toward products with heavy research and clinical results behind them. That said, I am a fan of testing out celebrities’ skin care routines — many of which include high-end, clinically-tested formulas — to see how they can change my complexion. So when my editor suggested I try Bieber’s modest morning routine, which she’s spoken about in her Vogue Beauty Secrets video, I was up for the test.

For two weeks, I ditched my 10-step skin care ritual in favor of Bieber’s relaxed three-step skin and simple morning makeup regimen. Did it change my life? Maybe in some ways. Keep reading for my honest review of Hailey Bieber’s morning routine.

Fast Facts

Price: ~$200. This may sound steep, but many of these products will last a very long time, and you don’t necessarily need to use the same items if you want to replicate her look. Bieber’s exact regimen includes Rhode Glazing Mist ($30), Rhode Glazing Milk ($32), Make Beauty Skin Mimetic Concealer ($28), Kosas Revealer Extra Bright Color Corrector ($32), Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel ($24), Rhode Pocket Blush ($25), Tarte Go With The Faux Freckle Stamp ($26), and the Rhode Peptide Lip Shape ($24).

Who this is best for: Anyone who is constantly running late (ha, me), or who wants to pare back their routine to save time and keep things simple.

What I like: The bare-bones routine made me feel fresh with minimal effort.

What I don’t like: There are some items that are totally unnecessary — I’m looking at you, freckle pen.

My rating: 3.5/5.

Start With Rhode Glazing Mist

The first nonnegotiable step in Bieber’s morning routine is the trusty facial spray from her brand Rhode. Her regimen is already pretty simple, but she says some mornings she’ll only spray this and “walk out the door.”

First impressions: I’ve tried many face mists over the years and honestly, this one did nothing for me. The mister was too fine to feel anything, and it seemed to immediately evaporate into thin air.

How to apply: Close your eyes and liberally mist all over your face.

The results: Personally, I don’t think this did much. I take very good care of my skin and it lives in a constant state of radiance, so this kept me at baseline. I didn’t notice any difference in softness, hydration, or luminosity when I spritzed this on.

Layer Rhode Glazing Milk

This might be the most popular skin care product Bieber makes, and it’s incredibly refreshing to know that she “could not live without it.” After using a face mist, she gently rubs a bit of this milky essence-serum hybrid into her skin to moisturize and strengthen her skin barrier. “It gives your skin this really beautiful, luminous, second-skin kind of look,” she says.

First impressions: I understand the hype behind this viral product. This milk acts as a three-in-one essence, toner, and serum to deeply hydrate skin and boost glowiness. I love how it immediately sank into my complexion and left it feeling pillowy soft.

How to apply: Dab a small dollop onto your hands then smooth it all over your face and neck.

The results: Guess who decided to completely ditch moisturizer — even during my nighttime routine — after using this for a few days. (It’s me.) My skin feels so healthy, bouncy, and soft the moment it melts into my skin, and it imparts a subtle radiance that truly makes me look like I’m glowing from within.

Don’t Skip Sunscreen

Nothing made me happier while watching Bieber’s video than when she whipped out sunscreen. SPF is the most important part of any skin care routine (seriously, ask any dermatologist) because it’s the best defense against sun-induced skin damage, which can lead to skin cancer and premature signs of aging, like fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. The sunscreen Bieber uses — Isdin Fusion Water Urban SPF 30 — isn’t available in the U.S., but there are plenty of milky formulas that have a similar texture and finish. During this little experiment, I opted for Tatcha The Milky Sunscreen SPF 50.

Dabble On Concealer

Once Bieber is done with skin care, she moves onto her minimal makeup routine, which begins with just a touch of concealer. She bypasses foundation altogether and only applies concealer on areas she feels could use some brightening, like under her eyes, on her forehead, and in the crevices of her nose.

First impressions: A woman after my own heart! Similar to Bieber, I don’t ever wear foundation, and simply opt for a tiny bit of concealer to hide any blemishes and brighten my under-eyes. Her go-to concealer from Make Beauty feels like air and beautifully blends into skin with minimal effort.

How to apply: Dab a small amount of concealer where you need it — like under the eyes, on the sides of your nose, and along your chin — and blend in with either a brush or your hands. Most days, Bieber prefers her fingers. “I’ve yet to find something that’s a better applicator for makeup than your finger,” she says.

The results: This concealing method effortlessly masked any imperfections without completely covering my face. I love that my skin can still breathe while wearing concealer — something that’s appreciated during boiling summer days.

Add Color Corrector As Needed

To look even more awake, alive, and glowy, Bieber adds a little bit of a pale pink color corrector to the corners of her eyes over her concealer. “It gives luminosity to my skin and face,” she says.

First impressions: Not gonna lie, I questioned Bieber’s method with this one. I’ve interviewed dozens of makeup artists over the years, and all of them have recommended applying color correctors or brighteners under your concealer. But for the sake of this experiment, I placed a dab of the pink brightener under my eyes and blended away.

How to apply: Dab a small amount near the inner corners of your eyes and blend using a brush or your finger.

The results: I struggle with very pronounced dark circles that are difficult to cover with concealer alone. The missing piece was this color corrector. The tiniest dab offset the shadows under my eyes to make me look well-rested and bright-eyed. Sorry I ever doubted you with this one, Hails!

Swipe On Clear Brow Gel

I had to do a double-take for this step because Bieber blew past her brow routine in seconds. A quick swipe of a clear brow gel is enough for her.

First impressions: This step feels pointless for someone like me who doesn’t have many brow hairs to be tamed. I have those naturally thin ‘90s brows that don’t benefit from any sort of gel.

How to apply: Simply swipe the spoolie through your eyebrows for a brushed-out, fluffy look.

The results: This didn’t do much for me. I also rewatched Bieber’s video about 10 times to see if it changed her eyebrows, and I genuinely couldn’t see a difference. I think this step is skippable unless you have extra thick brows that could use a little zhuzhing.

Blend In Rhode Pocket Blush

To add a little life to her cheeks, Bieber swipes on her very own Rhode Pocket Blush and skillfully blends it in using her fingers. This seems to be the ultimate busy-girl step because it takes mere seconds to get a flush of color that makes an instantaneous difference in terms of looking more alive.

First impressions: This blush stick blends like a dream. The Sleepy Girl color imparted the perfect flush on my cheeks and completely enlivened my complexion so I looked more awake.

How to apply: Swipe the blush stick directly onto your cheekbones, then blend it with your fingertips.

The results: While this isn’t the most pigmented blush I’ve ever used, it’s one of the most blendable and gave me a perfect sun-kissed look. I love how easy the stick is to pop in my bag and how it feels like nothing on my skin. No doubt I’ll continue reaching for it for the rest of summer.

Add Faux Freckles If Desired

Not to be dramatic, but I almost threw my laptop when I saw Bieber pull out the freckle pen. As a very freckled person (hi, I’m a redhead) who used to get bullied for having them, I hate that freckles are now seen as trendy. Bieber has natural freckles, and she mentions that after makeup artists began enhancing what she already has with this pen, she incorporated the step into her routine. To each their own, but this is a step I skipped.

Finish With Rhode Peptide Lip Shape

Bieber’s final step isn’t mascara — she skips that altogether — or another spritz of her face mist. She completes her easy-breezy routine by defining her lips with another product she created: the Rhode Peptide Lip Shape. Bieber outlines her lips to give them “more fullness and volume” and then goes about her day being a mom, and, you know, running a multi-million-dollar company.

First impressions: As a relative newbie to lip liners, this is one of the smoothest I’ve ever used. It’s nearly impossible to create harsh lines with the rounded tip, and it effortlessly glides to give my pout more definition.

How to apply: Glide the pencil along the outline of your mouth to boost volume and definition. Then, use the angled silicone smudger on the other side to diffuse everything.

The results: I don’t look like I got lip injections, per se, but my lips look much more voluminous with a simple swipe of this lip liner. Also, I find so many formulas to be drying (gloss is a requirement over top!). With this, I’m fine to wear it as is because it feels so soft and comfortable.

My Final Thoughts

Mary Honkus

Overall, Bieber’s routine is pretty uncomplicated, and that’s coming from a maximalist who has about 18 steps combined in my morning and evening routines. Following her protocol cut down on my getting-ready time by about 20 minutes, which allowed me to actually be on time for things (score!).

I still think there were quite a few unnecessary details, namely adding faux freckles. I’m covered in real freckles, so I didn’t see a point in painting any more. Also, while brow gel may work for some people, those with thinner arches (like moi) won’t see much benefit from swiping that on.

My suggestion is to take elements of Bieber’s regimen — like the simplistic three-step skin care routine, as well as the minimal makeup steps — and make it your own. That’s what I did. With a few tweaks, like adding some bronzer and mascara, I’ll be sticking to this pared-back routine for the rest of summer.

About Me:

As a beauty writer with nearly a decade of experience, I spend my days testing the latest and greatest beauty products. My skin is pretty chill — aside from occasional hormonal breakouts, it is clear and glowing, no matter what I slather on. My typical skin care routine is lengthy (I’m talking eight to 10 steps), including multiple products and devices, like red light masks and microcurrent.

The Creamiest Hard-Boiled Egg Chocolate Pudding (High Protein)

The Creamiest Hard-Boiled Egg Chocolate Pudding (High Protein)

If someone handed me a bowl of this chocolate pudding and asked me to guess the secret ingredient, hard-boiled eggs wouldn’t even make the list.

Once everything gets whirled together in a blender, the eggs somehow “disappear” into an incredibly smooth, rich chocolate pudding that my whole family loves.

It’s not “surprisingly good considering there are eggs in it” – it’s ACTUALLY good . . . possibly the best chocolate pudding I’ve ever made.

There’s no eggy flavor and no complicated technique. Just silky, chocolatey goodness . . . with a lot of bonus protein. 🙂

Okay, But Why Put Eggs In Pudding?

I realize hard-boiled eggs and chocolate pudding sound like two foods that should stay very far away from each other, but there’s actually a lot to love about this combination.

Traditional homemade pudding usually involves heating milk, sugar, and cocoa on the stove, then using cornstarch (or arrowroot), egg yolks, or another thickener to create a creamy texture.

This version is so much easier.

Hard-boiled eggs provide the structure and creaminess, while cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and maple syrup provide the sweet chocolatey goodness.

Everything goes straight into the blender, so there’s no tempering eggs and no whisking over the stove.

And because the base is made with whole eggs instead of milk and sugar, it’s naturally higher in protein than most traditional chocolate pudding recipes. (You know how much I love that.)

The Trick To Making It Taste Like Pudding

I know, “trust me” is doing a lot of heavy lifting with this recipe, but I served this to everyone in my family and none of them could tell it contained eggs.

That said, I do have a couple of tips for you.

First, use a high-speed blender if you have one. You want the hard-boiled eggs blended so thoroughly that there aren’t any tiny bits left behind.

Second, for the silkiest pudding, let your blender run longer than you think it needs to.

You’re not just combining the ingredients – you’re trying to completely emulsify the eggs into the mixture.

If your pudding seems too thick, add milk a tablespoon or two at a time. If it seems a little thin, keep in mind that it will firm up in the refrigerator.

And if you can detect even a hint of egg flavor while it’s still warm from blending, chill it before making any adjustments. The chocolate flavor comes through much more clearly once everything is cold.

Now, back to the recipe. 🙂

What You’ll Need

Hard-boiled eggs – You’ll need six peeled eggs. Use fully cooked hard-boiled eggs rather than soft-boiled eggs because you want the yolks completely set before blending.

Milk – I usually use whole milk, but if you’re dairy-free you can use coconut milk or another non-dairy milk.

Unsweetened cacao powder or cocoa powder – I use whichever one I have on hand at the moment.

Maple Syrup – Adds sweetness while blending in completely, so the pudding stays smooth and silky.

Vanilla extract – To round out the flavor.

A pinch of salt – Optional, but recommended. A little salt helps the chocolate and vanilla really “pop.”

Is This Good For Meal Prep?

Yes. This pudding keeps well for 3–4 days in the fridge, so I often make a double batch and scoop it into individual glass jars for my family to grab when they need a snack.
