Daily habits that quietly damage your skin

Daily habits that quietly damage your skin

Skin ageing is a natural process, but certain lifestyle choices can accelerate visible signs of ageing. Fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, dryness and loss of elasticity may develop over time, influenced by genetics, sun exposure, diet and everyday habits.

While a good skincare routine is essential, healthy skin also depends on how we care for our bodies. Habits such as smoking, taking excessively hot showers, poor sleep and consuming too much sugar can affect skin health. Here are five common habits that may contribute to premature skin ageing and simple ways to minimise their impact.

1. Smoking

Smoking is strongly associated with premature skin ageing. Tobacco smoke contains harmful chemicals that contribute to oxidative stress and damage collagen and elastin, the proteins responsible for keeping skin firm, smooth and supple.

Smoking also constricts blood vessels near the skin’s surface, reducing the supply of oxygen and essential nutrients to skin tissues. This can interfere with the skin’s natural repair processes and contribute to a dull complexion.

Over time, smokers are more likely to develop deeper wrinkles, particularly around the mouth and eyes, along with uneven pigmentation, dryness and reduced skin firmness.

What you can do:Quitting smoking is one of the most effective ways to protect your skin and overall health. Combine this with a balanced diet, adequate hydration and regular sun protection.

2. Taking Hot Showers and Baths

Long, hot showers may feel relaxing after a tiring day, but excessive heat can strip the skin of its natural oils. These oils help maintain the skin barrier and prevent moisture loss. When this protective layer is weakened, the skin may become dry, tight, rough and more susceptible to irritation. Repeated exposure to hot water can also aggravate existing skin conditions and make fine lines more noticeable. The scalp and hair may be affected too, as excessive heat can contribute to dryness, itching and hair breakage.

What you can do:Choose lukewarm water instead of very hot water and keep showers reasonably short. Apply moisturiser while the skin is still slightly damp to help retain moisture. Use a gentle cleanser and avoid excessive scrubbing.

3. Excessive Screen Time

Smartphones, laptops and tablets have become essential parts of modern life. However, spending long hours in front of screens can indirectly affect skin health by disrupting sleep and encouraging a sedentary lifestyle.

Digital devices emit blue light, also known as high-energy visible light. Some research suggests that blue light can contribute to oxidative stress and pigmentation under certain conditions. However, the extent to which everyday screen exposure causes premature skin ageing remains uncertain.

Late-night scrolling can also interfere with sleep, leaving the skin looking tired and dull. Poor sleep may affect the body’s normal recovery processes and overall well-being.

What you can do:Take regular screen breaks and maintain a consistent sleep schedule. Reduce device use before bedtime if it interferes with your rest. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily, particularly when spending time outdoors, to protect against established causes of premature skin ageing.

4. Sleeping Position

The way you sleep may influence the development of certain facial lines. Sleeping on your side or stomach can press the face against a pillow, creating repeated compression and friction. These pressure-related lines are known as sleep wrinkles.

Initially, they may disappear shortly after waking. However, as the skin naturally loses elasticity with age, some lines may become more persistent. Side sleepers may experience pressure-related lines on their cheeks, while stomach sleepers may place additional pressure on their forehead and face.

Although sleeping position is only one possible contributing factor, reducing repeated pressure may help minimise sleep-related creases.

What you can do:If comfortable, try sleeping on your back to reduce direct pressure on your face. Use a clean, smooth pillowcase and change it regularly. Most importantly, aim for seven to nine hours of sleep each night to support overall health and the skin’s natural recovery processes.

5. Excessive Sugar Consumption

Consuming too much added sugar may affect skin health through a process called glycation. This occurs when sugars bind to proteins such as collagen and elastin, forming compounds known as advanced glycation end products. Over time, these compounds can affect the structure and flexibility of collagen, potentially contributing to reduced skin firmness.

A diet high in sugary foods and refined carbohydrates may also contribute to metabolic problems and inflammation. High-glycaemic foods may worsen acne in some individuals, although responses vary from person to person.

What you can do:Limit sugary drinks, sweets and foods containing excessive added sugar. Choose a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, pulses, nuts and adequate protein. These foods provide nutrients that support normal skin function. Occasional treats are not a cause for concern; consistency and overall dietary balance matter more.

Build Healthy Habits for Healthy Skin

Healthy skin requires more than expensive products or elaborate beauty treatments. Everyday choices, including avoiding smoking, using lukewarm water, maintaining healthy sleep habits and eating a balanced diet, can support skin health over time.

Sun protection is particularly important. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, reapply as directed and seek shade when outdoors.

Ageing is natural and cannot be stopped. However, by making thoughtful lifestyle changes and following a consistent skincare routine, you can help maintain your skin’s health, comfort and radiance at every stage of life.

7You tries the new Collagen Co drinks with added skincare benefits. So do they live up to the hype?

If there’s one thing we can’t get enough of right now, it’s electrolytes.

Whether we’re looking for an afternoon pick-me-up, recovering after exercise or just in need of a sweet treat come 3pm, here at 7You we love a drink that’s packed full of benefits.

So when we were offered the opportunity to sample bestselling brand The Collagen Co’s new Hydraglow range, we couldn’t wait to get involved.

Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today Arrow

Featuring four key electrolytes, collagen peptides collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C, to enjoy these drinks, you simply mix the sachets with water.

There are a number of flavours to choose from, from the popular Choc Coconut to Strawberry Watermelon, Berry Frost and even Lemon Lime, each tasty and full of flavour.

The 7You team recently tested a sample of The Collagen Co’s Hydraglow range. Here’s how we got on.

Sophie, 7You Managing Editor

When it comes to electrolytes, in recent months they have become a mainstay of my wellness regime.

Training for my first marathon in Sydney in August, I would often dream of getting home after my long run to enjoy a nice cold electrolyte icy drink.

Be the first to know: Add 7NEWS as your preferred news source on Google

And since then? I haven’t been able to give them up.

So I was all ears when The Collagen Co announced they were releasing an electrolyte range packed full of additional benefits.

Hydration with a side of collagen peptides, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C? Say no more.

I’ve been testing both the Lemon and Lime flavour and the Strawberry Watermelon option, and I am a huge fan, particularly of the Strawberry Watermelon variety.

I particularly like having it after lunch when I want something sweet but don’t want to eat something unhealthy.

On days when I have this, I admit I feel more enhanced mental clarity when a wave of tiredness usually comes over me (hello, 2.30pm).

I’m yet to see any major skincare benefits from enjoying the drink, but it is helping with my water consumption.

Overall, I’d recommend them to someone looking to up their water consumption who needs an afternoon pick-me-up.

Holly, Deputy Editor

The team know that I am a loyal drinker of lemon and lime electrolytes as my afternoon pick-me-up.

So naturally, I reached for the same flavour from The Collagen Co’s latest line-up of tasty drinks.

Now drunk on a daily basis, I simply mix with cold water in my trusty Frank Green water bottle, knowing that I am getting a quick and easy dose of collagen (along with other benefits).

Because I have been a regular drinker of other electrolyte brands, I noticed that the sachet packets contain what seems like a lot more powder.

So upon mixing it in, it did clump more than usual — although nothing a good shake couldn’t fix.

As someone with dry skin who is always looking for ways to hydrate, smooth and plump my skin, I love knowing that this drink helps in the process too.

Jam-packed with other goodies to support energy levels, joint and tendor health, I’d eager to purchase another pack of Lemon & Lime again.

I love having a little hydration drink every day. It feels like sipping on a refreshing mocktail at my desk while I work, giving me a little moment of enjoyment while keeping my body hydrated throughout the day.

Berry Frost was definitely my favourite flavour. I loved the punchy blueberry taste, which was refreshing, delicious, and perfect for sipping on the daily whenever I needed to quench my thirst.

I also love that it’s more than just a hydration drink. The four-electrolyte formula, featuring sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, helps replenish what my body loses through daily activity, heat, and movement.

Plus, each sachet contains 5,500 mg of hydrolysed collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C to support skin hydration, smoothness, and a healthy, radiant glow.

For me, it’s the perfect little daily ritual that combines refreshing hydration with a beauty boost.

Getting back into the swing of work is always hard post-lunch break — with a belly full of food after sitting out in the sun, getting back on the grind truly is the worst.

But after having the Collagen Co Hydraglow electrolytes post-break has become a daily ritual I genuinely look forward to.

Initially reaching for the Choc Coconut flavour because curiosity got the better of me, but I quickly realised that I prefer my chocolate flavours in Cadbury form.

Over the past week, my go-to flavour is hands down Berry Frost, with a distinct berry flavour and almost radioactive blue colour, the flavour is second to none.

And as someone who has a very busy schedule, the added benefits have been a very welcome bonus.

Already after only a week, I am feeling more energised to tackle the later part of the day, my skin feels more hydrated, and overall the electrolytes are helping boost my overall water intake.

The Collagen Co Hydraglow range gets a big tick from me.

Could Your Daily Habits Be the Cause? 7 Moisturizing Tips Recommended by Dermatologists|若菜wakana@推し活、美容、メンタル

Could Your Daily Habits Be the Cause? 7 Moisturizing Tips Recommended by Dermatologists|若菜wakana@推し活、美容、メンタル

From autumn to winter, it is a season when skin dryness becomes a concern.

“Even though I moisturize thoroughly, my skin still feels dry.”

“My face feels tight by the evening.”

“My hands and shins get dry and itchy.”

Do you have such concerns?

When it comes to dealing with dryness, we tend to think about buying more highly moisturizing cosmetics.

However, it is actually important to review your daily habits, such as face washing, bathing, and the timing of your moisturizing routine.

In this article, we have summarized seven dry skin measures to incorporate in autumn and winter, based on advice from dermatologists introduced by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).

Before buying expensive cosmetics, why not check your daily habits first?

1. Do not wash your face or body with hot water

When it gets cold, hot baths and showers feel good, don’t they?

However, washing for a long time with hot water can be a burden on dry skin.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that people with dry skin take baths or showers for about 5 to 10 minutes using water that is not too hot.

Also, when washing your body, it is important to wash gently without scrubbing hard.

Things to be mindful of starting today

  • Avoid water that is too hot

  • Refrain from long showers

  • Do not scrub with a towel

While enjoying your bath time, you want to be conscious of minimizing irritation to your skin.

2. Moisturize not only after bathing, but also whenever you feel dryness

Are you mindful of when you apply moisturizing cream?

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends applying moisturizer while your skin is still damp after bathing or washing your hands.

It is also useful to apply additional moisturizer whenever you feel your skin is dry.

However, it is not the case that it is ineffective unless applied within one minute of bathing.

In a small study published in the Journal of the Japanese Dermatological Association, no significant difference in stratum corneum moisture content was observed after two weeks when moisturizer was applied one minute versus one hour after bathing.

The important thing is to continue moisturizing without forcing yourself.

Try to build a habit of moisturizing after your bath, while also caring for your skin whenever you feel it is dry.

3. Consider cream or ointment types for areas with severe dryness

There are various types of moisturizers, including lotions, gels, creams, and ointments.

Generally, lotions have a relatively light feel, while creams and ointments contain more oil and can be expected to work by preventing moisture from escaping the skin.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends creams or ointments over lotions for skin that is severely dry.

For example,

  • an easy-to-use moisturizer for the entire face

  • cream for cheeks that are particularly dry

  • a protective moisturizer for fingers that tend to get flaky

You can also choose products according to the area and the degree of dryness.

However, products with high oil content are not suitable for everyone.

Consider your skin type and susceptibility to acne, and choose what works best for you.

4. Check the ingredients for moisturizing components

When choosing a moisturizer, do you decide based only on the product name or reviews?

Paying attention to ingredients can also make it easier to find products that suit you.

Typical moisturizing ingredients include the following:

Ceramides

A type of lipid present in the skin’s stratum corneum, it plays a role in retaining moisture and supporting the skin’s barrier function.

Hyaluronic acid

It has moisture-retaining properties and is used in cosmetics as a moisturizing ingredient.

Glycerin

A representative moisturizing ingredient that has the property of attracting moisture.

Petrolatum

It works by protecting the skin’s surface and suppressing the evaporation of moisture.

However, just because a specific ingredient is included does not necessarily mean you will get a high moisturizing effect.

The usage experience also varies depending on the concentration, the overall formulation design, and compatibility with your skin.

It is important to choose products that you find easy to use while understanding the characteristics of the ingredients.

5. Do not choose facial cleansers or body soaps based solely on cleansing power

While keeping your skin clean is important, over-washing can be a cause of worsening dryness.

People who are particularly prone to dryness should also be careful about how they choose their facial cleansers and body soaps.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends mild cleansers and fragrance-free products for people with dry or sensitive skin.

Also, the strength of the lather does not necessarily mean it is better at cleaning.

Removing dirt while not washing more than necessary.

It is good to be mindful of this balance.

6. Pay attention to the dryness of your room

Autumn and winter are seasons when you have more opportunities to use heating.

When the air in the room is dry, you may find that your skin feels dry more easily.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a humidifier as one way to combat dry skin.

However, a humidifier is not always necessary.

You can start by checking the indoor conditions with a hygrometer and consider humidifying if needed.

If you use a humidifier, it is also important to clean it regularly according to the product manual to prevent the growth of mold and bacteria.

Try looking not only at your skincare but also at the environment you spend your time in.

7. Do not force exfoliation on dry skin

When your skin is flaky, do you ever feel like you want to remove the dead skin cells?

Some people might think they want to make their skin smooth using scrubs or peels.

However, it is not recommended to apply strong friction or exfoliation to skin that is already dry and sensitive to irritation.

The American Academy of Dermatology also warns against excessive exfoliation on skin that is peeling due to winter dryness.

Prioritize washing gently and moisturizing properly first.

If you have redness or a stinging sensation, it is important not to force yourself to try new cosmetics and to consult a dermatologist instead.

Start with just three. Dry skin measures to begin today

I have introduced seven methods so far, but you do not need to change everything at once.

Why not start with the following three?

1. Do not make your bath water too hot

2. Moisturize after bathing or washing your face

3. Apply extra moisturizer to areas where dryness is a concern

All of these can be started with the skincare products you already have.

Before buying new cosmetics, simply reviewing your daily usage can be the first step in combating dryness.

Summary | Moisturizing in autumn and winter starts with small daily habits

When it comes to dry skin care, it is easy to focus on new cosmetics.

However, to keep your skin in good condition, your daily face washing, bathing, and moisturizing methods are also important.

Rather than using many expensive products, it is better to consistently continue care that suits your skin.

If you start to notice dryness in autumn and winter, why not start by reviewing your usual lifestyle habits?

Note that if you experience persistent severe itching, redness, or cracking, it may not just be dryness but could be related to a skin condition. If self-care does not improve the situation, please consult a dermatologist.

Non-invasive treatments, at-home adoption and energy-based innovation drive growth, while e-commerce expansion and clinic partnerships strengthen ROI

Dublin, Oct. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — “Skin Care Devices Market Size, Market Share, Application Analysis, Regional Outlook, Growth Trends, Key Players, Competitive Strategies and Forecasts, 2026 To 2034” has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering.

The skin care devices market is expected to expand at a CAGR of 12.5% during 2026-2034, supported by rising demand for non-invasive aesthetic treatments, increased adoption of at-home skin care solutions, and continued innovation in energy-based technologies. Devices used for anti-aging, acne treatment, pigmentation reduction, skin tightening, hair removal, and skin rejuvenation are gaining traction across professional and home-use settings.

Higher spending on personal care, growing awareness of appearance-related wellness, and social media influence are strengthening global demand. Improvements in device safety, portability, treatment comfort, and performance are also increasing consumer confidence and supporting adoption across multiple age groups.

Market Growth Drivers and Challenges

Demand for procedures that provide visible results with limited downtime remains a major market driver. At-home devices are benefiting from convenience, privacy, wider online availability, and lower long-term costs compared with repeated in-clinic treatments. Aging populations and interest in wrinkle reduction, collagen stimulation, and skin tightening are supporting demand for radiofrequency (RF), microcurrent, and ultrasound devices. Acne, pigmentation, and uneven skin tone concerns are increasing the use of light/LED therapy and intense pulsed light (IPL) technologies.

Market expansion may be constrained by the high cost of premium consumer devices and professional clinical systems. Safety concerns involving burns, irritation, misuse, and inconsistent results can affect trust, particularly within the at-home laser and IPL categories. Country-specific regulatory and certification requirements may extend approval timelines and increase manufacturers’ costs. Professional systems also require maintenance, training, and consumables, while topical skincare products and in-clinic injectables create competitive pressure.

Technology and Price Range Analysis

The skin care devices market is segmented by technology into light/LED therapy, radiofrequency (RF), ultrasound, microcurrent, laser, and intense pulsed light (IPL). Light/LED therapy maintains a strong position due to its use in acne treatment, inflammation reduction, and skin rejuvenation. RF devices are widely adopted for skin tightening and anti-aging procedures, while ultrasound technology is gaining momentum in firming and deeper tissue applications. Microcurrent devices remain popular for at-home facial toning and lifting. Laser and IPL systems continue to support pigmentation treatment, skin resurfacing, and hair removal applications.

By price range, low-cost products include mass-market home devices, entry-level cleansing tools, and basic LED products. The medium-price category benefits from demand for trusted brands, enhanced performance, and improved safety features. High-price products include professional systems and premium at-home devices offering advanced energy controls, durability, and stronger efficacy claims.

Product, End Use, and Distribution Segmentation

Product categories covered in the report include anti-aging devices, acne treatment devices, hair removal devices, skin rejuvenation systems, skin cleansing devices, and oxygen/steamer devices. Applications include acne and psoriasis treatment, tattoo and hair removal, cellulite reduction, skin tightening, body contouring, pigmentation and spot reduction, wrinkle reduction, skin resurfacing, skin hydration, oxygen therapy, and skin brightening.

End-use segments comprise at-home consumers, beauty salons and spas, dermatology clinics, and other professional settings. Consumer groups include men, women, and unisex users. Distribution channels include e-commerce platforms, company websites, supermarkets/hypermarkets, specialty beauty stores, dermatology clinics, and aesthetic centres.

Regional Market Outlook

North America represents a major skin care devices market due to high aesthetic spending, established dermatology and medspa networks, and early adoption of premium home-use technologies. Europe is supported by sustained demand for non-invasive cosmetic procedures, strong safety requirements, and expanding professional skincare clinics.

Asia Pacific is expected to record strong growth as disposable income, beauty consciousness, e-commerce activity, and aesthetic clinic networks expand. Latin America is benefiting from increased beauty and wellness expenditure and the development of private aesthetic clinics. The Middle East and Africa offer selective opportunities, particularly in major cities with strong demand for premium aesthetic services and advanced clinical systems.

Competitive Landscape

Competition centers on clinical validation, safety controls, treatment effectiveness, comfort, durability, and user-friendly design. Manufacturers are expanding professional and home-use portfolios, strengthening e-commerce and clinical distribution, and investing in training for safe operation. 5 Skincare Habits You Actually Don't Need to Do, According to Beauty Pros|shiori|大人の美容哲学

5 Skincare Habits You Actually Don’t Need to Do, According to Beauty Pros|shiori|大人の美容哲学

Is the daily routine you work so hard on really benefiting your skin?

“I want to have beautiful skin.”

With that in mind, you might layer on toner multiple times, add more serums, or carefully exfoliate every single day.

The more interested you are in beauty, the more time and money you likely spend on your skincare routine.

However, from my experience facing various skin concerns in the beauty industry, I feel that skincare is not necessarily better just because you put more effort into it.

What your skin needs is not a lot of care, but care that matches its current condition.

In this article, I will introduce five skincare habits that you don’t actually need to force yourself to do, from the perspective of a beauty professional.

1. Layering toner multiple times

“Because my skin is dry, I layer toner three or even five times.”

I sometimes hear stories like that.

Of course, there is nothing inherently wrong with layering toner.

However, applying toner multiple times does not necessarily mean that the skin’s moisture level will be maintained for a longer period.

What is important for protecting skin moisture is the barrier function of the stratum corneum and maintaining a state where moisture does not easily escape.

When you are concerned about dryness, try reviewing your moisturizing routine with emulsions or creams instead of just increasing the number of times you apply toner.

What matters is not the number of times you apply toner, but the combination that can keep your skin moisturized.

2. Daily scrubbing or peeling

When you are concerned about rough pores or dullness, you naturally want to exfoliate.

Scrubs and peeling products work to remove old dead skin cells and smooth out the skin.

However, repeating this more than necessary can irritate the skin and lead to dryness or redness.

In particular, those who are prone to dryness or sensitive to irritation should be careful.

The appropriate frequency for exfoliation depends on the type and concentration of the product used, as well as your skin condition.

Do not aim to do it every day; instead, follow the product’s usage instructions and your skin’s reaction.

This is also a perfectly valid form of skincare.

3. Layering multiple types of serums

Vitamin C, retinol, niacinamide, ceramide…

The more you research beauty ingredients, the more you’ll want to try various serums.

However, incorporating many ingredients at once does not necessarily increase effectiveness.

Depending on the product, layering multiple items can sometimes make your skin more prone to irritation.

Also, if you start using several new serums at once, it becomes difficult to identify the cause if one doesn’t agree with your skin.

First, organize your thoughts on the skin concerns that bother you the most.

Then, it is important to incorporate items that address those concerns as needed.

Choose serums based on whether they suit your goals, not on how many you use.

4. Washing your face until it feels ‘squeaky clean’

After washing your face, it feels refreshing when your skin is squeaky clean, doesn’t it?

However, that sensation is not necessarily ideal for your skin.

Products with overly strong cleansing power, washing for too long, or the habit of scrubbing can lead to dryness and irritation.

The purpose of washing your face is to properly remove sweat, excess sebum, and dirt.

There is no need to excessively strip away the moisture your skin actually needs.

If your skin continues to feel tight after washing, it might be a sign to reconsider your cleanser or your washing method.

When washing your face, it is also important not to over-cleanse.

5. Constantly switching to expensive cosmetics

“Maybe if I use a more expensive serum, my skin will change.”

Have you ever felt that way?

Of course, there are many attractive products among high-priced cosmetics.

However, you cannot judge whether a product is right for your skin based on price alone.

When choosing cosmetics, it is important to consider not just the price, but also the ingredients, formulation, feel, and compatibility with your skin.

And you must not forget to continue the basics of skincare: moisturizing and UV protection.

Before buying new cosmetics, take a moment to re-evaluate whether the items you are currently using are right for your skin.

Understanding your skin and choosing accordingly is more important than using expensive products.

I believe that is what is important for adult skincare.

What adult beauty needs isn’t just “adding more”

As you age, you start to worry about various skin concerns such as dryness, lack of firmness, dark spots, and pores.

When that happens, you tend to think you need to add some new treatment.

But that is exactly when you should take a moment to review your current skincare routine.

  • Are you using the items you truly need?

  • Are there any habits that are putting a strain on your skin?

  • Are you maintaining your moisturizing and UV protection?

  • Are you adjusting your care to match changes in your skin?

The important thing is not the act of reducing your skincare itself.

It is about incorporating the necessary care, only as much as is needed.

And, it is about knowing your own skin.

Beauty should not be something you have to keep struggling with, but a habit for cherishing yourself.

With that in mind, I will continue to share beauty knowledge.

Jeong Ga-eun shares skincare routine and annual Ultherapy — Mediafine Global

Jeong Ga-eun shares skincare routine and annual Ultherapy — Mediafine Global

Actress Jeong Ga-eun shared her skincare and lifestyle habits on her YouTube channel, emphasizing consistent maintenance such as drinking 2L of water daily and receiving treatments like Ultherapy once a year.

Actress Jeong Ga-eun revealed on her YouTube channel on the 19th that she maintains her youthful appearance through daily habits like drinking 2L of water and receiving Ultherapy approximately once a year.

Actress Jeong Ga-eun has revealed the secrets behind why she is frequently told she looks youthful even at age 49. Contrary to expectations that she undergoes constant special procedures, she emphasized drinking 2L of water a day, consistent skincare, and receiving procedures approximately once a year.

On the 19th, Jeong Ga-eun released a video titled “Sister, what procedures did you do? I’ll tell you everything (How to be told you’re in your 20s at age 49. Procedure edition)” on her YouTube channel Rollercoaster Sister Ga-eun. Following reactions calling her youthful, she directly introduced her skincare methods and procedure experiences for viewers curious about her routine.

Jeong stated that she has “heard it a lot since a long time ago” and that since starting YouTube, she hears comments that she has “become prettier” or “become younger” even more frequently. She explained that she did not have the time for procedures that would change her face, so she has focused on dermatological care and home care. Regarding reactions that her appearance has changed, she emphasized that it is the result of steady management rather than excessive procedures.

She also revealed the management methods she practices in daily life. Jeong said she carries a neck massager, noting it helps to relax the occipital area or use it when the neck feels uncomfortable. She also takes collagen supplements. She noted that while she did not feel a significant effect at first, she realized the difference after stopping, adding, “If you don’t do anything, it shows.”

She particularly emphasized water intake. Jeong revealed that she drinks 2L of water a day. She shared the thought that there is no single special secret to maintaining a youthful look, but rather one must manage overall lifestyle habits. Explaining that alcohol and smoking are bad for both health and skin, she spoke candidly that she does not smoke and drinks alcohol only occasionally.

She offered advice that it is not too late to start if one is interested in skincare. Jeong looked back, saying she also began serious management from her late 30s, noting, “I thought I would stay young forever.” She continued with the message, “It is not too late for you either,” emphasizing the importance of consistently following management that suits oneself regardless of age.

During consultations at dermatology clinics, Jeong was recommended Thermas. She mentioned the importance of collagen, noting she was told to try it if she could receive it steadily once a year. However, she noted that rather than recommending specific procedures to everyone, it is important to choose based on one’s own skin condition and management circumstances.

She also drew a line regarding the perception from those around her that she likely receives many procedures. Jeong stated, “I don’t do them very much,” revealing that she receives Ultherapy about once a year and also receives ONDA procedures. She explained that rather than repeating various procedures, she follows the management methods she has chosen.

Jeong Ga-eun, who is receiving reactions for looking youthful even at age 49, disclosed her management habits without reservation through this video. Her revealed methods—2L of water a day, home care, supplements, and periodic dermatological procedures—focus on consistency rather than one special secret. However, as skin conditions and procedure effects can vary by individual, youthful management needs to be approached by considering one’s own health and skin condition.

UV Care Habits to Protect Your Future Skin During Daily Commutes and Outings|Kingly【メンズ美容】

UV Care Habits to Protect Your Future Skin During Daily Commutes and Outings

In the midst of a busy daily life filled with work and personal commitments, many people feel anxious about their skin condition and whether their care routine is truly correct. While consistency is the most important aspect of skincare and daily maintenance, the reality is that complex steps or time-consuming methods are difficult to sustain.

Having the right knowledge and choosing effortless items that fit your personal lifestyle is crucial for maintaining a clean and healthy skin appearance. In this article, we will organize the skin challenges and questions often faced in daily life, and explain practical knowledge and selection points that are useful even on their own, in approximately 3,000 characters.

1. Various Challenges and Influences on Skin in Modern Life

In modern living environments, there are many factors that place more burden on the skin than we realize. Changes in indoor and outdoor environments and irregular lifestyle habits can disrupt the balance of moisture and oil on the skin’s surface.

For example, during long hours of desk work or in air-conditioned indoor spaces, the skin’s moisture is gradually stripped away by dry air. Additionally, physical irritation from UV rays, airborne dust, and daily shaving can accumulate, making it easier for the skin’s natural health to be compromised.

To address these challenges, it is necessary to go beyond just covering the skin’s surface; daily care that delivers and retains essential moisture in the stratum corneum while reducing damage from dryness and friction is required.

2. Basic Points for Choosing and Using Items Without Failure

When choosing skincare or daily care products, it is important to judge them comprehensively from the perspectives of “ease of use” and “ingredients/formulation,” rather than just relying on buzz or popularity.

See details of Kingly official products

  • Does it fit your lifestyle? Whether the process is simple enough to continue without strain, even on busy mornings or tired nights, is the biggest point for habituation.
  • Comfort of texture and usage: If it feels too sticky or is difficult to spread on the skin, it becomes a source of stress. Choosing a texture that blends easily and leaves a smooth finish is comfortable.
  • Ingredient composition that supports moisture in the stratum corneum: Check if it contains moisturizing ingredients (such as hyaluronic acid, ceramide, or plant extracts) and has a clear formulation design for its intended purpose.
  • Thoroughness in usage that minimizes burden on the skin: No matter how excellent a product is, applying it with force or rubbing it in can cause skin irritation. The golden rule is to spread it gently with your palms and apply it as if wrapping the skin.

3. Kingly’s Approach as an Option for Solving Challenges

We introduce Kingly official products as one of the options that meet the conditions we have explained so far—”simple and easy-to-continue care,” “reliable moisture retention,” and “skin-friendly comfort”—at a high level.

At Kingly, we develop products with a focus on carefully selected ingredients and a comfortable feel so that those living busy lives can continue their daily care comfortably and without strain.

There is no need to force yourself to collect many cosmetics. Why not consider these as reliable items that can simply update your daily moisturizing and daytime care to match your lifestyle?

4. Summary: Daily Consistency Builds Future Healthy Skin

Skin health and a clean appearance are not achieved overnight. By consistently using high-quality items that suit you, along with care based on correct daily knowledge, you can cultivate a healthy skin condition that you will feel confident in years from now. Please use this as a reference for reviewing your skincare routine starting today.

Image 1 of How Color-Changing Foundation Can Simplify Your Everyday Makeup Routine

How Color-Changing Foundation Can Simplify Your Everyday Makeup Routine

Simplifying your morning beauty routine doesn’t mean compromising flawless skin or natural-looking coverage. Modern cosmetics have evolved far beyond heavy, traditional formulas, bringing smart hybrid products into everyday beauty routines. Color-adjusting makeup technology uses encapsulated shade pigments suspended in a lightweight hydrating base. As you blend the product onto your face, the heat and pressure of your fingers release these micro-pigments, allowing the formula to adjust automatically to your unique skin tone.

This self-adjusting approach eliminates the guesswork of matching complex skin undertones under harsh store lighting. Beyond convenience, modern color-adapting bases are frequently enriched with skincare actives, offering seamless color correction alongside moisture-boosting benefits. Combining lightweight coverage with essential skin preparation creates an effortless, fresh-faced finish that stays luminous all day without caking, oxidizing, or feeling heavy. When your base makeup adapts directly to your natural complexion, application becomes quick, intuitive, and stress-free.

Beyond saving time, using an adaptive foundation helps reduce the physical weight of makeup on your face. Heavy, layered products can stifle your pores and accentuate fine lines by early afternoon. Adaptive formulas, by contrast, create a breathable layer that moves naturally with your facial expressions while maintaining an even finish.

Korean Body Sunscreen for Complete Daily Beauty and Skin Protection

True skin protection goes beyond facial care to embrace full-body sun defense. Adding a dedicated Korean body sunscreen to your daily routine ensures exposed areas like your neck, chest, arms, and hands stay fully shielded from cumulative sun damage. K-beauty formulations are world-renowned for their lightweight, non-sticky textures that absorb rapidly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue or chalky white cast.

Daily application of a high-quality Korean body sunscreen helps prevent photoaging, dark spots, and loss of skin elasticity across your body. Modern body SPF formulas often include soothing botanical extracts, offering deep hydration alongside broad-spectrum defense.

When selecting an everyday body sun protection product, consider these essential qualities:

  • Fast-Absorbing Texture: Look for milky lotions or watery gel formulas that melt into the skin, so you can get dressed right after application without staining clothing.
  • Nourishing Botanical Ingredients: Choose sunscreens formulated with soothing ingredients like centella asiatica, green tea, or aloe vera to calm skin exposed to daily heat and sunlight.
  • Broad-Spectrum Protection: Make sure the label shows strong UVA and UVB defense (PA++++ ratings) to protect against both sunspots and deeper structural photoaging.
  • Non-Comedogenic Hydration: Formulations that hydrate without clogging body pores help prevent chest and back breakouts during warm weather.

Consistent full-body sun protection ensures that your neck and chest match the smooth, youthful appearance of your face over time.

Skin Care Coreano: Building a Simple Korean-Inspired Skincare Routine

The global popularity of skin care coreano stems from its gentle, preventive philosophy focused on nurturing a strong, healthy moisture barrier. Rather than relying on harsh chemical exfoliants or aggressive treatments, Korean skin care emphasizes layered hydration, soothing botanicals, and daily solar protection to cultivate a natural, dewy glow.

Building an effective Korean skincare routine does not require a complicated ten-step process. A streamlined approach focusing on double cleansing, hydrating toners, targeted serums, and daily sun defense delivers excellent results while remaining easy to maintain.

Prepping your skin with a lightweight, color changing foundation works seamlessly on top of a well-hydrated Korean skincare base, creating a fresh, radiant finish that lasts all day. By prioritizing long-term skin health over quick cosmetic fixes, this philosophy helps keep your face plump, calm, and naturally luminous.

Maintaining a balanced skin barrier also makes your makeup wear longer. When skin is properly hydrated, it produces less excess oil throughout the day, preventing foundation from sliding or fading unevenly.

Ginseng Skincare Benefits for a Healthy and Radiant-Looking Complexion

Ginseng has been a cornerstone of traditional herbal medicine for centuries, and its inclusion in modern ginseng skincare has transformed anti-aging formulations. Packed with phytonutrients and ginsenosides, this powerful root ingredient revitalizes tired skin, improves microcirculation, and helps restore a firm, supple texture.

Integrating ginseng skincare products into your morning or evening routine provides rich antioxidant protection against environmental stressors like pollution and UV rays. Increased blood flow from active ginseng extracts helps deliver fresh oxygen and nutrients to dermal layers, giving your face a healthy, naturally energized flush.

Over time, consistent use of ginseng-infused products helps improve skin elasticity, softening the appearance of fine lines and restoring bounce to sagging tissue. It works particularly well for dull, fatigued skin that needs a visible boost in vibrancy.

How Rice Milk Toner Can Prepare Skin for a Smooth Foundation Application

A velvety, long-lasting makeup look depends on how well you prep your skin beforehand. Incorporating a creamy rice milk toner into your morning skincare routine delivers deep moisture while gently refining uneven skin texture. Rice extract has long been celebrated for its brightening, softening, and barrier-soothing properties.

Applying a generous layer of rice milk toner right after cleansing hydrates dry surface patches, ensuring liquid cosmetics glide on smoothly without clinging to flakiness or settling into fine lines.

Here is how a softening toner elevates your makeup base prep:

  • Gently Evens Skin Texture: Softens rough surface cells and refines coarse areas around the nose and chin, creating a smooth canvas for liquid base products.
  • Delivers Deep Surface Moisture: Infuses thirsty skin layers with essential hydration, preventing foundation from looking cakey or dry throughout the day.
  • Enhances Natural Radiance: Soothes redness and brightens dull areas, allowing your natural skin luminosity to shine through sheer makeup formulas.
  • Balances pH Levels: Restores the skin’s optimal acid mantle after cleansing, making subsequent serums and moisturizers absorb more effectively.

Using a nourishing toner eliminates the need for heavy silicone primers, keeping your skin feeling light and comfortable all day.

Ginseng for Skin and Propolis Serum: Natural Ingredients for Everyday Skincare

Combining time-tested natural ingredients lets you target multiple skin concerns at once. Utilizing ginseng for skin rejuvenation alongside a rich propolis serum provides a double dose of vitality, barrier repair, and deep nourishment for compromised or dull complexions.

While ginseng for skin firmness supports collagen preservation and improves circulation, adding a propolis serum brings potent antibacterial and healing benefits. Propolis, a natural resin produced by honeybees, is rich in flavonoids that calm active inflammation, soothe sensitive areas, and seal in lasting moisture.

Benefits of pairing these two natural powerhouses include:

  • Comprehensive Barrier Repair: Propolis seals microscopic surface tears and calms redness, while ginseng energizes skin cells from within.
  • Protection Against Daily Free Radicals: Both ingredients are loaded with natural antioxidants that neutralize pollution and environmental damage before it affects your skin structure.
  • Balanced Moisture and Oil Levels: Lightweight propolis serums deliver deep hydration without clogging pores, making them ideal under daily base makeup.
  • Enhanced Natural Glow: The combination of anti-inflammatory resin and circulation-boosting root extract leaves the complexion visibly plumper and more radiant.

This synergistic pairing is especially beneficial during seasonal changes when skin is prone to sudden dryness, redness, or environmental stress.

Streamlining your daily beauty ritual comes down to choosing multi-tasking products that protect, hydrate, and perfect your skin at once. Switching to a self-adjusting base product eliminates color matching struggles while providing comfortable, breathable coverage. Pairing your makeup with gentle K-beauty habits, such as lightweight body sun defense, brightening rice toners, and restorative herbal serums, ensures your complexion remains healthy and vibrant underneath.

Consistency and gentleness are the secrets to long-term radiance. By shielding your skin from daily UV exposure, nourishing your barrier with time-tested ingredients like ginseng and propolis, and prepping a smooth, hydrated base, you can enjoy an effortless, radiant finish every day.

IPSY Enters Wellness, Launching Quarterly “IPSY Wellness” Supplement Membership

IPSY Enters Wellness, Launching Quarterly “IPSY Wellness” Supplement Membership

IPSY, one of the largest beauty subscription companies in the US, announced IPSY Wellness, a new membership program dedicated to wellness, on October 15. Having built its member base on monthly deliveries of makeup and skincare samples and full-size products, the company is making its first major move into a new category. The program covers supplements, treatments and care tools, and ships once a quarter.

The launch rests on the view that the line between beauty and wellness is fading. IPSY says it analyzed first-party preference, review and product trial data from its members and designed the program around the needs that emerged. Beyond winning new customers, the move is meant to make existing member relationships deeper and longer-lasting.

Summary

  • IPSY announced IPSY Wellness, a new quarterly membership, on October 15
  • Members choose from three collections — Skin, Hair and Total Wellness — each delivering four supplements, treatments and tools per shipment
  • The official site lists a price of $65 per quarter (plus tax and shipping), more than 50% off retail value
  • Goli, Sakara and Apothékary are on board at launch, with Lemme, Beam and Good Bacteria set to join in 2027

A Quarterly Box Built Around Three Focus Areas

Members start by picking one of three collections — Skin, Hair or Total Wellness — according to their interests. Each collection is curated with four products spanning supplements, treatments and tools, offered at more than 50% off their combined retail value. The official site lists the price at $65 per quarter, plus tax and shipping.

Members choose a focus area to tailor their box

Unlike IPSY’s existing monthly plans, the new program ships every three months. Because wellness products often take longer to show results, the company says the format gives members enough time to try products and build them into a routine. The subscription cadence itself has been adjusted to suit ingestible wellness products.

Member Research Points to a “Try Before You Commit” Appetite

To support the move, IPSY points to its own 2026 Beauty Discovery Report. Sixty-six percent of members surveyed said they are interested in wellness but feel overwhelmed by the options, while 69% said they won’t commit to a routine without sampling first. Another 65% said they are likely to try or explore a new wellness brand or product if it is introduced through IPSY.

The company also cites outside data. According to a 2025 McKinsey & Company survey, roughly two-thirds of Gen Z and millennial consumers in the US, UK and Germany bought functional nutrition products in the past year. In an IPSY Instagram poll, more than 60% of respondents said supplements and nutrition, skin and facial tools, and hair and scalp care all play a role in how they approach beauty. It is a market crowded with choice and driven by trial — precisely where IPSY’s track record in sampling and curation comes into play.

CEO Galen Smith framed the launch as a natural extension of the business.

“Millions of members have trusted IPSY with their beauty routines, and with wellness and beauty now more connected than ever, we want to take a more holistic approach to meeting our members’ needs. The growing interest in wellness demonstrates that members are looking for IPSY to provide the same level of support in wellness that we have provided in beauty for years,” he said.

He added: “IPSY Wellness builds on the discovery model we’ve established in beauty, applying our strengths in trial and curation in a way that deepens member relationships and creates new opportunities for brands.”

Participating Brands and What Comes Next

The lineup mixes emerging names with established ones. Goli, Sakara and Apothékary are participating at launch, and Lemme, Beam and Good Bacteria are scheduled to join in 2027.

Goli supplements, one of the launch brands

IPSY positions the program as opening two avenues for growth: deepening relationships with existing members and reaching new audiences beyond its core beauty community. For brands, it extends the sampling and awareness opportunities of IPSY’s member base into wellness. The question now is whether the discovery engine honed in beauty subscriptions can lift retention and spend per customer in inner beauty as well.
