The 2026 Skincare Trends to Watch | Beauty & grooming

The 2026 Skincare Trends to Watch | Beauty & grooming

If there’s ever an indication of a new beauty trend or cosmetic treatment, it can be found on the faces of Hollywood’s elite. You best believe if there’s a new magical therapy promising the fountain of youth, they’ve sniffed it out before we’ve ever even heard of it. This was out in full display this week with Emma Stone’s Golden Globes red carpet glow. The treatment responsible? Ivan Pol’s, a.k.a The Beauty Sandwich, “snatched” facial. And it’s not just Emma Stone who’s eating it up. Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian, Penelope Cruz, Teyana Taylor and more are all converts. Thanks to a layering of his “secret sauce”, bottled in SS02 and SS01, an antioxidant-rich face oil and its double that plumps the skin, in between infra-red and radio frequency devices, Pol’s treatment delivers results akin to Botox – without the needles, of course.

Easy Crockpot Chicken Tacos Recipe

There are seasons when life feels (extra) full. Meals still need to happen, kids still get hungry (often earlier than expected), and having a plan for dinner can make the whole day feel more grounded. That’s where dependable recipes like crockpot chicken tacos can be a lifesaver.

These crock pot chicken tacos are simple, flexible, and made with real ingredients you probably already have on hand. They’re the kind of dinner that works just as well for a busy Tuesday as it does for feeding a crowd on the weekend—and the leftovers somehow taste even better the next day.

Why Crockpot Shredded Chicken Tacos Work So Well

One reason crockpot shredded chicken tacos are so popular is that slow cooking does all the hard work. The chicken is tender enough to easily shred, and it soaks up the spices and juices without drying out. This means no babysitting the stove and no last-minute scrambling.

Another bonus is how forgiving this recipe is. You can use chicken breasts or thighs, adjust the spices to your family’s heat tolerance, and choose your own toppings. Unlike my easy salsa chicken recipe, these are crockpot chicken tacos without salsa. Instead I rely on diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, and spices for flavor. It’s a great option if you’re avoiding added sugars or just prefer a cleaner ingredient list.

How to Make Crockpot Chicken Tacos

Years ago I actually took a look at the taco seasoning packets and was shocked by what I saw. I’ve since made my own taco seasoning that’s quick and easy. The spice blend here is simple but effective—chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and oregano create that classic taco flavor without needing a packet. Smoked paprika adds depth, while optional chipotle in adobo gives a subtle smoky heat if you want it.

You can swap out the spices in these Crockpot chicken tacos for homemade taco seasoning though if preferred.

I also add bell peppers and onions near the end of the cooking time. This keeps them from turning to mush and makes it more of a fajita-style filling. A squeeze of fresh lime at the end brightens everything and makes the flavors pop.

Practical Tips for Real Life

This is one of those recipes that works whether you’re home all day or out running errands. Cook it on low if you’re gone most of the day, or on high if you’re starting later. It also adapts well to the Instant Pot when time is especially tight.

For serving, set out tortillas and a few toppings and let everyone build their own tacos. Avocado, cilantro, shredded cheese, or a simple taco slaw all work well. We love adding homemade guacamole and pico, and sometimes a sprinkle of homemade Tajín for extra flavor.

While we don’t always have dinner at home, it is a priority in our home to share a healthy meal together. This one checks all the boxes. It’s protein-rich, customizable, and incredibly low effort. Crockpot chicken tacos are a delicious way to get dinner on the table without adding more stress!

Crockpot Chicken Tacos

These delicous Crockpot chicken tacos are easy to make and great for busy nights. Customize them with your favorite toppings!

  • Add chicken, diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, and all spices to the crockpot. Stir gently.

  • Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender.

  • Optional Fajita Vegetables: Add sliced peppers and onion during the last 30–40 minutes of cooking.

  • Remove chicken and shred with two forks. Return to the crock pot and stir.

  • Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top and serve in tortillas with desired toppings.

Instant Pot Instructions

If you want to make these in the Instant Pot instead, here’s an easy way to do it. This recipe version takes less than 30 minutes for when you need dinner on the table fast!

  1. Add all ingredients except the fajita vegetables and lime to the Instant Pot.
  2. Seal the lid and cook on High Pressure for 12 minutes.
  3. Allow a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then manually release remaining pressure.
  4. Shred chicken and stir back into the sauce.
  5. Add sliced peppers and onions if using. Turn on sauté mode and cook 3–5 minutes, just until tender.
  6. Finish with fresh lime juice if desired and serve.

Best anti-ageing day creams 2026, tested by a beauty editor in her 40s

Best anti-ageing day creams 2026, tested by a beauty editor in her 40s

Your questions about anti-ageing day creams answered

What is the best anti-ageing day cream?

My top pick is the Murad superactive moisturiser, which can help protect the skin from ageing UV rays. It also transforms a dull skin tone to a radiant one, brightening discolouration for a more even tone and texture.

If you’re on a budget, the Facetheory glow-C daily moisturiser performs similarly but at a fraction of the price. It’s also infused with vitamin C, to help rejuvenate the skin.

How I tested the best anti-ageing day creams

  • Rejuvenating benefits: The most important consideration, I wanted formulas that smoothed, brightened or firmed my skin.
  • Feel: All the formulas were marked on how they felt and looked on the skin after application.
  • Value for money: The ingredients and overall results were evaluated against the product’s cost.

Do anti-ageing products really work?

You can’t reverse ageing, but certain skincare ingredients, such as vitamin C and niacinamide, can improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, dullness and texture.

Remember, SPF should be used daily to help protect skin in the first place. Regular use will help limit damage from UV radiation, but also play an important role in protecting against fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

The best thing you can do to reduce the appearance of ageing is to take care of your skin as early as possible, with preventative steps such as applying SPF daily and always removing make-up before you go to bed.

Ingredients to look for in anti-ageing day creams

Antioxidants – These neutralise free radicals and protect the skin from UV rays, pollution and other environmental damage.

Ceramides – You’ll find ceramides in plentiful supply in cleansers, serums and moisturisers. While ceramides occur naturally in your skin, they decline gradually as we age. They protect your skin against environmental aggressors and prevent water loss, so they are great in topical skincare products, as they’ll leave skin feeling supple and hydrated.

Hyaluronic acid – This is one of the most commonly used ingredients in moisturisers, as it’s a humectant that attracts and retains moisture on the skin, giving a plumping effect.

Retinol – Derived from vitamin A, retinol is one of the most potent anti-ageing ingredients, thanks to its clinically proven results in improving fine lines and wrinkles in as little as 12 weeks. It can also fade acne scars and increase collagen production. It’s available over the counter in moisturisers and serums of varying strengths. However, retinol can make skin more sensitive to the sun’s UV rays, so it is particularly important to use a high SPF when using retinol products.

Squalane – This is an unfussy, oil-based moisturising agent that works well for mature, dry and dehydrated skin types, reducing water loss and strengthening the skin barrier by sealing in moisture.

How to use an anti-ageing cream in your daily beauty routine

Speaking to dermatologist Dr Zainab Laftah in our IndyBest guide to anti-ageing skincare, we discussed that a “commitment to regular use” is important when seeking results with anti-ageing products. Gleaning expert insight from further dermatologists – Dr Ifeoma Ejikeme and aesthetician Dija Ayodele – we established that the ideal order to apply your products is as follows:

  • Cleanse
  • Exfoliate
  • Apply serums and/or retinol
  • Moisturiser
  • SPF

Does your skin type affect which anti-ageing cream you should use?

In short, yes. You should take into account your skin type when looking for a new moisturiser. Anything too oily or thick may exacerbate oil production, so if you want to avoid a shiny T-zone, opt for oil-free, non-comedogenic products that are lightweight and won’t clog pores.

Equally, if you have dry skin, you’ll need something nourishing to improve skin texture and suppleness that will hydrate while tackling fine lines and wrinkles.

How long does it take to see results?

It’s important to acknowledge that no matter what a brand might claim, no product has the power to truly repair the signs of ageing. “It’s important to have realistic expectations,” says advanced aesthetic nurse and clinic owner Amanda Azzopardi. “These products can help reduce the visibility of fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of ageing, but they cannot reverse the ageing process entirely.”

You also need to give a new product about a month to see visible results, as this is roughly the time it takes your skin to regenerate skin cells. However, this isn’t true for everyone. Skincare expert Ada Ooi warns that “significant changes can take several months of consistent use and depend on the depth of wrinkles and individual skin biology.”

With a New Multivitamin, Has Par Olive Created the Retinol of Ingestible Skin Care?

With a New Multivitamin, Has Par Olive Created the Retinol of Ingestible Skin Care?

The benefits of multivitamins are many. You might take one to balance nutritional gaps, support immune function, or even boost your energy. But have you considered taking one for better skin? Olivia Boyd-Smith, founder of Australia’s leading ingestible brand Par Olive, has—and she has bottled it in her label’s new Advanced Skin Multivitamin, available to shop exclusively for Vogue readers today for 24 hours.

“I wanted to create the retinol of ingestible skin care” and address the root signs of skin aging, Boyd-Smith tells Vogue. That includes the cumulative effect of oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, collagen depletion, and a gradual decline in cellular resilience, according to aesthetic doctor and Par Olive medical director Joseph Hkeik. To address these factors, he thinks of skin health holistically: skin care, relaxation, and nutrition—three pillars around which Advanced Skin is formulated.

Par Olive Advanced Skin Multivitamin

Par Olive

Advanced Skin Multivitamin

  • Why We Love It: For its multivitamin, Par Olive aims to address signs of skin aging with a blend of nine clinically dosed antioxidants, including resveratrol, vitamin C, glutathione, and zinc. Just two capsules per day can illuminate one’s complexion, boost elasticity, reduce inflammation, and support cellular renewal. “We created this for people who are intentional about their skin and understand that prevention is the most intelligent approach to optimal skin health and longevity,” says Boyd-Smith.
  • Key Ingredients: Resveratrol, vitamin C, astaxanthin, lutein, zeaxanthin, glutathione, nicotinamide, riboflavin, zinc
  • Dosage: Two capsules daily with food

Nine master antioxidants were selected to work together, with each supporting a different aspect of skin function, from protecting against daily oxidative stress to reinforcing skin-barrier integrity and cellular repair. “Resveratrol combats oxidative stress, astaxanthin preserves elasticity, vitamin C brightens, glutathione neutralizes free radicals, lutein and zeaxanthin enhance radiance, nicotinamide supports barrier integrity, and zinc balances skin clarity,” Boyd-Smith explains. Each was chosen in collaboration with global skin doctors and longevity experts, clinically dosed, and developed under Australia’s rigorous TGA supplement regulation standards to support cellular renewal, refine texture, restore luminosity, and strengthen resilience.

“When [these ingredients are] combined, they create a more complete internal foundation for skin health,” Dr. Hkeik continues. “This allows the skin to function more efficiently, recover better from stress, and maintain its structure over time, which in turn supports and enhances everything we do externally through skin care and treatments.” He emphasizes that because the traditional multivitamin is formulated for overall health, it contains ingredients at lower doses, which often limits their relevance to skin function. The Advanced Skin Multivitamin takes the opposite approach, keeping the complexion as the primary focus. “From a medical perspective, this level of focus matters,” he says. “It allows the formula to support skin health in a meaningful way, rather than simply adding to a general supplement routine.”

Dosage is just two capsules per day taken with food, consistently. “Instead of juggling multiple skin supplements, this single capsule delivers everything the skin needs internally,” says Boyd-Smith, who recommends pairing the multivitamin with Par Olive’s Marine Collagen Superpowder for additional skin structural support. (Research behind the skin benefits of collagen supplementation, a structural protein already found in the body, is plenty.)

How to Build a Summer De-Tan Routine for All Skin Types

How to Build a Summer De-Tan Routine for All Skin Types

Prolonged sun exposure can cause stubborn tan, dullness, and uneven skin tone. This guide shares a complete summer skincare routine to safely detan your face, repair the skin barrier, and restore your natural glow.

The summer sun can be harsh on your skin and leave behind stubborn tan, dullness, and an uneven tone. Tanning is your skin’s natural defence mechanism against UV damage. However, prolonged sun exposure can make your skin barrier weak and lead to excess melanin production. The good thing is that a tan removal face mask, clubbed with a Vitamin C face wash routine can reverse the sun damage.

This guide outlines a summer skincare routine for all skin types, with a focus on how to detan face and barrier repair to support long-term skin health.

1. Weekly De-Tan Masks

Weekly de-tan treatments are essential in skincare during summer if you spend time outdoors. A well-formulated clay mask can remove tan and impurities and restore your skin’s natural glow without stripping away natural oils.

Clay masks absorb excess oil, remove pore debris, and exfoliate dead and tanned skin cells. They suit oily, acne-prone, dry, sensitive, normal, and combination skin types when used correctly.

Ingredients to look for in a de-tan mask:

  • Kaolin clay absorbs oil and impurities while being gentle on the skin.
  • Brazilian purple clay is rich in minerals that detoxify without dehydration.
  • Lactic acid is a mild AHA that exfoliates tan and improves skin texture.

Use a de-tan mask once or twice a week. Overuse can lead to dryness or sensitivity during peak summer.

2. Gentle Cleansing (Twice Daily)

Sweat, sunscreen, and pollution accumulate on the skin surface in summer, so cleansing is a non-negotiable step in skincare. A gentle cleanser can prevent pore congestion and help remove tan.

Using a tan removal face wash daily removes dull, tanned surface cells while adding a mild brightening effect. It is ideal for summer mornings and evenings.

Choose your cleanser based on your skin type.

  • Oily skin: Opt for a gel or foaming cleanser.
  • Dry skin: Cream-based and hydrating cleansers can be an excellent addition for skin care for dry skin in summer.
  • Sensitive skin: Mild, fragrance-free formulas.
Cleansing your skin twice daily maintains clarity and prepares the skin for de-tan treatments.

3. Exfoliation (2–3 Times a Week)

This step speeds up cell turnover, helping your skin shed pigmented cells more quickly. This step is crucial if you are wondering how to detan face naturally without harsh scrubbing.

However, choose exfoliants wisely.

  • Oily / acne-prone skin: Salicylic acid (BHA) or glycolic acid (AHA).
  • Dry skin: Lactic acid or enzymes.
  • Sensitive skin: Mild enzyme exfoliators.

Daily exfoliation can weaken the skin barrier and worsen pigmentation, so avoid it.

4. De-Tan & Brightening Serums

Serums penetrate deeper into the skin than masks or cleansers. A targeted serum evens out tone and helps fade tan faster.

Look for these brightening ingredients in a serum.

  • Vitamin C repairs damage and improves glow.
  • Niacinamide strengthens the skin barrier.
  • Liquorice extract fades pigmentation naturally.
  • Alpha arbutin is effective for stubborn sunspots.

Apply the serum once or twice daily, depending on the formula’s strength.

5. Deep Hydration with a Moisturiser

Most people ignore hydration in the summer, but it is essential for skin recovery. Dehydrated skin appears dull and holds onto pigmentation longer.

Moisturiser recommendations based on skin type:

  • Oily skin: Lightweight gel or water-based moisturiser.
  • Dry skin: Creams with ceramides and hyaluronic acid.
  • Sensitive skin: Soothing and fragrance-free formulas.

A moisturised skin heals faster and responds better to de-tan treatments.

6. Sunscreen: The Most Important Step

A summer detan routine is incomplete without sunscreen. UV exposure can reactivate melanocytes, which leads to repeated tanning and pigmentation.

Follow these practices for good sun protection.

  • Use broad-spectrum SPF 50 or higher.
  • Reapply every 2–3 hours outdoors.
  • Gel sunscreens for oily skin.
  • Mineral sunscreens for sensitive skin.

Skipping sunscreen will undo all your progress.

Natural Ingredients That Support Tan Reduction

Natural ingredients can complement your routine, but they take time to show results.

  • Aloe vera soothes sun-exposed skin.
  • Cucumber reduces inflammation.
  • Green tea provides antioxidant protection.
  • Rose water refreshes and calms the skin.
  • Always do a patch test before use.

Common De-Tan Mistakes to Avoid

Using harsh scrubs daily

Physical scrubs can damage the skin barrier, cause microtears, and trigger inflammation when used too frequently. It can worsen pigmentation rather than reduce tan. Gentle chemical exfoliation is more effective at safely removing tan.

Skipping sunscreen

UV rays continuously stimulate melanin production without daily sunscreen. Your skin continues to tan. It will cancel out the effects of masks, serums, and treatments.

Expecting overnight results

Tan forms in deeper skin layers and cannot disappear overnight. Most solutions work by supporting cell turnover, a process that takes time. You can notice a visible improvement over a few weeks.

Final Thoughts

A good summer skincare routine can remove tan at home by gentle exfoliation, hydration, and strict sun protection. It can support your skin’s natural renewal process instead of damaging it with aggressive treatments.

Your natural skin tone will resurface healthier and be more even all summer long with the right de-tan routine and patience.

How Tara Sutaria Nails A Flawless Look Using Just Simple Makeup Essentials | Beauty News

Last Updated:January 12, 2026, 12:56 IST

Tara Sutaria’s routine is proof that minimal makeup, when done right, can feel just as impactful as a full glam beat.

Tara Sutaria shared a GRWM video on Instagram.

In an era of full-coverage foundations and multi-step routines, Tara Sutaria is making a compelling case for restraint. The actor recently offered a glimpse into her beauty philosophy with a ‘get ready with me’ moment on Instagram. The takeaway? A flawless finish doesn’t require an overflowing makeup bag – just thoughtful application and a light hand.

Using only six products, Tara Sutaria demonstrates how minimal makeup can still deliver maximum polish, especially for those seeking a fresh, non-cakey look that feels wearable from day to night.

Skin First, Always

Tara Sutaria begins with well-prepped skin – cleansed, moisturised, and primed – before reaching for a vitamin-infused skin tint. Unlike heavier foundations, the tint offers sheer coverage while letting natural skin texture shine through. Her application technique is equally strategic: focusing the product on the cheekbones for a lifted effect, adding a touch on the nose, then blending outward for an even, luminous finish.

This skin-first approach sets the tone for the rest of the look. It is natural, breathable, and glow-enhancing.

Softly Smoked Eyes Without The Fuss

Instead of a traditional eyeshadow palette, Tara opts for a cream eyeshadow stick to create an effortlessly smudged eye. The long-wear formula glides on easily and blends seamlessly, making it ideal for quick glam. A mauve shade adds subtle depth and warmth, enhancing the eyes without overpowering the face – a modern alternative to heavy smokey eyes.

The Power Of Mascara

Mascara, according to Tara, is non-negotiable. A generous coat opens up the eyes instantly, lending definition and drama even within a minimal routine. While she favours building volume, the technique remains adaptable – less for naturally large eyes, more for those craving added emphasis.

A Touch Of Colour, Right Where It Counts

Blush plays a starring role in her routine. Choosing a matte pink formula, Tara applies it using her fingers rather than tools, allowing the colour to melt into the skin for a natural flush. The result is a healthy, lifted glow that bridges the gap between bare and polished.

Defined Lips, Naturally Enhanced

For lips, Tara turns to a lip liner to subtly overdraw her natural shape, creating the illusion of fullness without looking artificial. She finishes with a pink-nude lipstick, gently dabbing it on rather than filling in the lips – a small trick that makes a big difference in keeping the look soft and effortless.

7 simple habits Korean women over 60 do that makes their face look naturally lifted – VegOut

7 simple habits Korean women over 60 do that makes their face look naturally lifted – VegOut

Ever since I started splitting my time between Saigon and Singapore, I’ve become fascinated by something I keep noticing.

Korean women in their 60s and 70s have this remarkable way of looking decades younger than their Western counterparts, with faces that seem naturally lifted and sculpted without any obvious signs of cosmetic work.

At first, I thought it was just good genes. But after befriending several Korean families through my wife’s social circle and diving deep into Korean wellness practices for my research, I discovered something more interesting.

These women follow specific daily habits that have been passed down through generations, habits that Western skincare science is only now beginning to understand.

What really got me hooked was watching my wife’s 68-year-old Korean friend demonstrate her morning routine during a visit. Her skin had this bounce and lift to it that most people lose by 40. When I asked her secret, she laughed and said, “No secret, just consistency.”

After months of observation and conversations with Korean women over 60, plus diving into research on facial aging and muscle tone, I’ve identified seven simple habits that create that naturally lifted appearance. And here’s the kicker: none of them require expensive products or procedures.

1. They practice facial gua sha every morning

Korean women over 60 treat their morning facial massage as seriously as brushing their teeth. But they don’t just randomly rub their faces. They use a specific upward sweeping technique with either their knuckles or a smooth stone tool.

The science behind this is actually fascinating. As we age, facial muscles can become stagnant, leading to sagging. This daily massage stimulates blood flow and lymphatic drainage, which reduces puffiness and creates a natural lifting effect.

I watched one woman demonstrate this, spending exactly three minutes each morning working from her jawline up to her temples in firm, upward strokes. She’d been doing it for 40 years. The difference in her jawline definition compared to women her age who don’t practice this was striking.

The key is the upward motion. Always up, never down. They believe pulling the skin downward accelerates sagging, and honestly, looking at their results, they might be onto something.

2. They sleep on their backs religiously

This one surprised me because it seems so simple, yet it’s probably one of the most effective habits I discovered. Korean women over 60 are incredibly disciplined about sleeping on their backs, even if it means training themselves over months to change their natural sleeping position.

Why does this matter? Side sleeping creates compression on one side of your face for hours each night. Over decades, this leads to deeper wrinkles on one side and can actually cause facial asymmetry. Stomach sleeping is even worse, pushing your face into the pillow and creating vertical lines.

When I was researching for my book Hidden Secrets of Buddhism: How To Live With Maximum Impact and Minimum Ego, I came across Buddhist teachings about body awareness even during sleep. Korean women have taken this concept and applied it practically to facial preservation.

They often use specialized pillows that make side sleeping uncomfortable, essentially forcing themselves to maintain the back position. After seeing the difference in facial symmetry and wrinkle patterns, I’ve started attempting this myself, though I’ll admit it’s harder than it looks.

3. They do face yoga while watching TV

Picture this: a group of Korean grandmothers watching their evening dramas while simultaneously doing facial exercises. It’s a common sight in Korean households, and there’s solid reasoning behind it.

These aren’t random facial movements. They follow specific exercises designed to tone the 57 muscles in the face and neck. Think of it like going to the gym, but for your face. The exercises include resistance training using their own hands, stretching movements, and isometric holds.

One exercise I learned involves placing your fingers on your temples, then trying to squint while using your fingers to create resistance. Another involves filling your cheeks with air and transferring it from side to side. They do these for about 15 minutes daily.

The result? Lifted cheekbones, defined jawlines, and reduced nasolabial folds. Western facial yoga instructors charge hundreds for teaching these techniques, but Korean women have been passing them down for free through generations.

4. They hydrate from the inside out with specific timing

Korean women over 60 don’t just drink water. They have a specific hydration protocol that maximizes facial plumpness and skin elasticity. They drink warm water first thing in the morning, before any food or coffee, and they sip water consistently throughout the day rather than gulping large amounts at once.

But here’s where it gets interesting. They stop drinking large amounts of liquid two hours before bed. This prevents nighttime puffiness that can stretch facial skin over time. They also add specific ingredients to their water: a slice of ginger in the morning for circulation, and sometimes a pinch of sea salt for mineral balance.

The warm water thing initially seemed odd to me, coming from Australia where we prefer everything iced. But warm water is absorbed more quickly by the body and doesn’t shock the digestive system. Better absorption means better cellular hydration, which directly impacts skin firmness and that lifted appearance.

5. They eat collagen-rich foods daily, not supplements

While Western women pop collagen pills, Korean women over 60 get their collagen from food sources, and they’ve been doing it long before collagen became a buzzword. Bone broth, fish skin, chicken feet, and pig trotters are regular parts of their diet.

They also pair these foods with vitamin C sources to boost collagen synthesis. A typical combination might be fish soup with kimchi, or bone broth with fresh herbs. They understand that collagen from food is more bioavailable than processed supplements.

What struck me was their consistency. They don’t eat these foods occasionally; they’re part of the daily diet. One woman told me she hasn’t gone a week without bone broth in 30 years.

6. They protect their faces from gravity throughout the day

This habit is subtle but genius. Korean women over 60 are constantly aware of how gravity affects their facial skin. They avoid looking down at phones or books for extended periods, instead holding devices at eye level. When applying skincare, they use upward motions exclusively.

They even avoid certain facial expressions that work with gravity to pull features downward. Frowning, for example, is consciously minimized. This isn’t about suppressing emotions but about being mindful of habitual expressions that contribute to sagging over time.

In my book Hidden Secrets of Buddhism: How To Live With Maximum Impact and Minimum Ego, I write about mindfulness in daily actions. These women have mastered this concept specifically for facial preservation.

7. They use cold water exclusively on their faces

Never hot water. Ever. Korean women over 60 wash their faces with cool or cold water only, regardless of the season. Hot water strips natural oils and breaks down collagen and elastin fibers over time.

But they take it further. Many keep their skincare products in the refrigerator and use cold spoons or ice rollers on their faces each morning. The cold causes vasoconstriction followed by vasodilation, which boosts circulation and creates a natural tightening effect.

Some even practice cold water immersion for their faces, dunking their faces in bowls of ice water for a few seconds at a time. The immediate lifting effect is visible, but the long-term benefits of preserved collagen are what really matter.

Final words

After studying these habits, what strikes me most is their simplicity and accessibility. These aren’t expensive treatments or complicated procedures. They’re daily practices that require nothing more than consistency and mindfulness.

The Korean women I’ve observed don’t view these habits as chores. They’re simply part of life, as automatic as brushing teeth. And perhaps that’s the real secret: making facial care so routine that it becomes effortless.

Since learning these techniques, I’ve incorporated several into my own routine, and my wife has adopted even more. While we might not have 40 years of practice behind us like these Korean women, starting now is better than never starting at all.

The naturally lifted appearance these women maintain into their 60s, 70s, and beyond isn’t magic. It’s the compound effect of small, daily habits performed consistently over decades. And that’s something anyone can start today.
